(Video) Wendy’s Shot At Destiny’s Child & Mathew Knowles

At first, Wendy started off her shady commentary by clowning the former members of Destiny’s Child, who were all kicked out of the group back in the day:

Wendy: “At Coachella, the festival…in April, there’s a rumor that Beyonce will not just reunite with Kelly and Michelle, but those other girls whose names we don’t know- LeToya, Latavia….Farrah’s not even invited okay! … But remember the other girls got fired when they saw the “Bills Bills Bills video and they didn’t see the in it.”

Wendy’s “Bills” video comment was in reference to the time LeToya and Latavia reportedly admitted that neither Mathew, nor Kelly or Beyonce, called to tell them they were no longer in the group. They allegedly had to find out when they saw Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin as their replacements on the “Bills” video. There’s more…

It didn’t stop there for Wendy’s shade session though, she went on to throw a flurry of verbal jabs directly at Mathew for the way he handled the group, and she also had more to say about all of the other members, for not being as successful as Beyonce’:

Wendy: “There wasn’t even a phone call….shady Mathew Knowles. Mathew was at the helm…or should we call him ‘shiny Mathew Knowles?’ He’s very shiny.Um…but Mathew was at the helm at that time and they didn’t call the girls, they just put out the “Bills, Bills, Bills, video…”

Now, Mathew Knolwes -who typically doesn’t like to have to step outside of his character to clap back at ‘negative Nancys- decided he had a lil bit of time on his hands the other day. Gotta love those Knowles, they’re not ones for beef. Although Beyonce’ never reacts to negativity, nor defends herself from it, it’s refreshing to see that at least one Knowles will.

Destiny Child’s singer-turned gospel artist, Michelle Williams, has had somewhat of a ‘Cinderella story,’ in regards to her music career…or so it seemed. When Michelle joined Destiny’s Child in early 2000, she went from literal obscurity, to mega-superstar quicker than we can say “I’m a survivor” twice. That’s because when Michelle (along with Farrah Franklin) replaced LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett- after Beyonce’s dad/DC’s then manager kicked them out- she joined an already superstar R&B group. She’d become thrust into the spotlight and in many ways, the shadows. of the already known Beyonce’ Knowles and Kelly Rowland. She was also in the lingering ‘shadows’ of LaTavia and LeToya.

Even though her new role was a major weight to carry, Michelle didn’t fold under the pressure and was ultimately able to carve her own space out within the group.

Tens of millions of records and several years later, Michelle has just gone into further detail of the suicidal thoughts (which she originally revealed a few years ago) in her October 18th (2017) co-hosting gig on The Talk daytime talk show. She laid it all out about why she’s now decided to speak on the suicidal tendencies she had when Destiny’s Child was at the height of their careers.

Story in a nutshell: Michelle was severely depressed ever since the age of “13 to 15”; Beyonce’s dad, Matthew Knowles, used to try to help her, but didn’t quite understand what was wrong with her….neither did she; Her depression stemmed from some type of trauma she says she endured as a child; Now she’s on a mission to “normalize” mental illness.

Michelle Breaks Down Her Battle w/Depression

“I think at the age of 25, had I had a name to what I was feeling at the time, I would have disclosed that, ‘I’ve been suffering from depression,'” Williams told The Talk co-hosts. “I didn’t know until I was in my 30s what was going on. I just thought it was growing pains. I just thought, ‘I’m turning into a woman.’ So I’ve been suffering since the age between 13 and 15. Like I said, at that age, I didn’t know what to call it.”

Matthew Knowles Had Tough Time Understanding Her Depression

Michelle on what Matthew Knowles used to tell her to get her to snap out of it:

“I’m in one of the top-selling female groups of all time, suffering with depression. And when I disclosed it to our manager at the time, bless his heart, he was like, ‘Y’all just signed a multi-million dollar deal, you’re about to go on tour, what do you have to be depressed about?’ So I was like, ‘Maybe I’m just tired.'”

She also said that although Matthew didn’t understand why she was appearing to be so “ungrateful” about all her blessings, with the success of the group, his intentions were good. So she in no way blames him for his misunderstanding.

What Caused Her Depression?

When asked what caused her depression, Michelle said:

“Well I will just say…it was some things that I had so growing up. I internalized everything, I didn’t have an outlet…”

In efforts to help others struggling with depression, Michelle says, “I want to normalize this mental health discussion,” by publicly demystifying the topic. After disclosing her past struggles on the show, Michelle then gave props to multiplatinum selling pop star, Demi Lovato, for recently detailing her struggles with depression and drug dependency in a new Youtube documentary.

We salute Michelle Williams and Demi Lovato for letting the world know that all that glitters ain’t gold. The old school saying goes: “With great power, comes great responsibility.” These ladies are are finding their balance within that reality, to help empower others. Salute.

Matthew Knowles Regular Job

He’s held a very regular, yet impactful job for the past nine years, one that some would least expect of the the father of one of the biggest stars in American culture right now. Matthew is a professor at Texas Southern University in their hometown of Houston Texas. Now that we we’ve all taken a moment to let that sink in, let us fill y’all in on the wonderful things he’s doing for TSU students and faculty, as well as other residents affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Matthew Knowles actually rode out the hurricane when it wreaked havoc on Houston and surrounding cities. He was in a high rise building and made it out unharmed afterwards.

After the water began to recede, he took to the streets to bring food and water to some of the homeless people he knew in the area. He also went straight to TSU’s campus to start helping the students there. In one of his videos (shown below), he stated this:

Hi, this is…Professor Matthew Knowles, I’m here on campus at Texas Southern University, where I’ve had the privilege to teach…well over 9 years. We desperately need your help here at TSU. We have about 1,500 students, mainly freshmen that got here early and had to endure this terrible, terrible, devastation of this…hurricane that hit the city. There in need of toiletries and a whole lot of other items. We have over 800 faculty and staff that have lost homes and are displaced. We have over 50 cars that were lost on campus for students and faculty. So we desperately need your help here. So…I’m asking all of my friends to go to TSU.edu

Matthew has continued to push to help those affected both on campus, and off, at various shelters and such. He also worked out a plan with his daughter, Bey’, who donated a very large sum of money to TSU after the hurricane, as well as to thousands of other citizens in her hometown. She’s donated hurricane relief funding through various organizations: Greater Houston Community’s Foundation; and to her pastor’s non-profit organization, Bread of Life.

To this day, Matthew is continuing to use his connections within the industry and his personal celebrity influence to get large amounts of funding and necessities that we oftentimes take for granted, to the people of Houston and other areas.

His name may come with some controversy surrounding his personal life, but one thing no one can say is that Matthew Knowles does not have a big heart when it comes to doing what he can to help others in need. Props to him for coming through for his city.

Were They Born A Week Ago Or Today?

Earlier today, it was widely reported that Beyonce’ had her twins about a week ago, but that she and the babies had a “minor issue” and were still in a Los Angeles hospital for health safety reasons. Up until today (June 18, 2017) no one from Beyonce’s camp had spoken a word about it.

Well, now it seems that either Matthew Knowles is trying to do some damage control, or the prior reports were not completely accurate. Why? It’s because as soon as the news about the twin babies leaked, Matthew gave a conflicting message about their actual birthdate. He took to Facebook a few hours ago to wish them a happy born day TODAY (6-18-17) and not a ‘belated’ happy b-day (as in they’ve been here for a week):

“They’re here! Happy birthday to the twins! Love Grandad”

Quite frankly, I don’t really care about whether or not Bey’s babies were born yesterday, Thursday, or last Sunday. The only thing I care about is that she and Jay-Z’s precious bundles of joy are healthy and safe. So if it is true that they are still having that “minor issue” a hospital source stated, then our prayers for a speedy healing are with them…

The bright side is that the “issue” could very well be super minor, because yesterday (6-17-17) Bey’s momma, Tina Lawson and her hubby/actor Richard Lawson were in New York getting their two step on to the Isley Brothers. So Bey’s and her babies’ condition can’t be that serious. With that said, congratulations to Beyonce and Jay Z.

The Rumors:

According to The Jasmine Brand, an inside source previously said Beyonce wasn’t very pleased with the way her father arrived at the hospital, uninvited when Blue Ivy was born. The insider also claimed Beyonce had no desire for her father to be present when she gives birth. “She is fearful that he’ll show up uninvited like he did with [their five-year-old daughter] Blue. She doesn’t want him anywhere nearby on her special day. She fully expects everything to be perfect as they become a family of five.”

Shortly after Beyonce became pregnant, Mathew did an interview and many fans speculated that he’d spilled the beans about the sex of the babies which is another reason why the singer reportedly limits what her father knows.

Clapping Back:

Despite the rumors, Mathew Knowles claims it’s all a flat-out lie. “There’s a difference in a rumor and a lie, that’s a lie. That’s a bold lie,” he confirmed. The former Destiny’s Child manager went on to share details about his relationship with his daughters/ Although it’s rumored that Mathew is estranged from Beyonce and Solange, he claims otherwise. “I communicate with my daughters weekly, I would describe my relationship with my daughters as loving.”

Beyonce has yet to comment on the situation and there’s a strong possibility she never will. Bey and Jay adamantly keep their personal lives out of the spotlight.

Apparently Taqoya wasn’t trying to go down without a fight, so she took Matthew to court over child support and this is what happened next:

Mathew Knowles tried to buy his baby mama’s silence with $225,000 after she told him she was pregnant with their now five-year-old daughter.

That’s according to a Houston family court judge, who ripped Knowles for giving baby mama Taqoya Branscomb the $225,000 “hush money” payment to persuade her from hauling him into court for child support.

“Mr. Knowles knew of his paternity in September 2009 and clearly sought to avoid the establishment of a support obligation based primarily on the tolling agreement and the payment of monies pursuant to said agreement, which the court can only reasonably conclude was hush money,” Judge David D. Farr wrote as part of his ruling in Harris County District Court.

Koi was born in 2010, while Knowles was still married to Beyonce’s mother, Tina. Branscomb sued Knowles in 2014 over the paternity of the little girl, and the pair had been duking it out in court ever since.

In a ruling last month, the judge sided with Branscomb, ordering Knowles’ wages garnished to pay her $70,822 in back child support plus interest, along with $1,496 a month in regular child support. Knowles is also now responsible for the child’s health insurance as well as $50,000 in Branscomb’s attorney fees.

Judge Farr awarded Branscomb sole custody of their daughter, and blasted Knowles for turning his back on his own flesh and blood.

“The court notes that Mr. Knowles has zero interest, and in this court’s consideration on the evidence, zero capability of being a positive role model in the child’s life,” Judge Farr wrote.

In his defense, Knowles claimed he was too broke to pay back child support but shouldn’t have to because he already paid Branscomb the $225,000. Knowles also said he’s not responsible for back child support from when Koi was a baby because he paid for Branscomb to have an abortion – and believed she did – until they met up shortly after the baby was born.

But the judge wasn’t buying it.

“By way of findings to the issue of retroactive child support,” Judge Farr wrote, “the court notes that it has considerable doubts concerning the veracity and credibility of Mr. Knowles’ testimony based on numerous observations at trial.”

This is a really tough situation because the person being hurt the most is not Beyonce’ and Solange, nor their mother Tina Knowles, Taqoya, nor Matthew, it’s that beautiful little girl, who doesn’t seem to have her father in her life at this point. She was not a planned pregnancy, but she’s here now and she deserves a daddy, just like any other child does. Everyone makes mistakes, but their daughter is now a precious gift to them. Right now Matthew has the opportunity to make things right by bonding with his daughter, because it’s never too late to try and I think having a great bond with his child is more important than anything money can buy. Hopefully he and Taqoya can find a common ground soon for the sake of their little girl.
