She first admitted that she thought they’d be together forever, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. However, Coko vowed to handle their divorce like grown folks for the sake of their son and the love that she and Mike both have for each other:

“We always thought we’d be together forever! Through the good, the bad, the ugly, the ups and the downs…we’d still be married. But, things don’t always work out the way we plan or hope. After 15 years of marriage, my husband and I have decided to call it quits. Our fairytale has come to an end. I’ll definitely miss him! But life goes on and I have to make the best of it. I wish him all the best in his future. I pray that he will lack nothing! For the sake of our son we will do our best to co-parent. We’re not enemies, we’re just two people that fell out of love.”

Coko also kept it 100, by admitting she is terrified of what comes next, now that the life she’s known for 15+ years is about to be brand new all over again:

Not really sure if Mike’s post is some type of subliminal message about their marriage, but the timing of it made it worth mentioning.

They were also once the couple to consistently share pics of each other on social media. Now, Coko has deleted all photos of Mike from her Instagram page and Mike has reduced his many photos of Coko down to just one collage, which seemed more like a farewell ode to his soon to be ex. Point is: even though there seems to be some tension between the two behind the scenes, they are clearly determined to maintain their composure publicly and handle their differences respectful manner. Fifteen years ago today (October 19, 2017), Mike and Coko took the leap of faith and jumped the broom, after just 6 months of dating. Mike, as a professional drummer in the music game, and Coko’s love of music is probably what contributed to their love connection moving at lightening speed at that time. Apparently, they both got ‘so weak at the knees they could hardly speak, lost all control’ and said “I do,” while many folks around them were saying ‘Oh HELL naw…don’t DO, it’s TOO SOON!’ Coko will explain this in a minute…

You see, ILOSM fam,’ sometimes we just gotta go with our gut instinct- sure we may strike out, but hell, that’s what the Higher Power gave us legs and hindsight for. If we screw up, we look back in hindsight and have a clearer vision of what we did wrong, then we use that wisdom to keep walking/running forward toward the next opportunity. In the Clemons’ case, they moved on their gut instinct to get married and today, as they celebrate their 15th year of marital bliss, they’re glad they did.
