Here at ILoveOldSchoolMusic, we love us some Shirley Strawberry. Sure her boss, Steve Harvey, may have had a few controversial moments this past year, where he’s disappointed damn near all of his fans. However, the ever-so-eloquent Shirley has remained classy and controversy-free throughout it all, as we listen to her co-host The Steve Harvey Morning radio show.

Just liek the rest of us regular folks though, celebrities go through drama, ups, downs and everything in between. Unfortunately this recent news about Shirley and her husband, Ernesto Williams, can be filed underneath their ‘drama’ category.

Apparently the lovebirds have managed to piss off their landlord. So much so, that said landlord has now taken legal action against them. The landlord is claiming that Shirley and Ernesto have stuck ’em for their paper and has now blasted them in the media over it. Check out the report below.

Via TMZ: Shirley Strawberry…is being sued by the homeowner’s leasing agent, Pacific Shore Property Management, claiming Shirley and her hubby were deadbeat tenants. In the docs, obtained by TMZ, PSP says Shirley had a 1-year lease for $7,500 a month. Shirley paid the first month’s but May’s payment was 25 days late. After that Shirley paid zilch. The homeowner tells TMZ … Shirley made nothing but excuses about why rent was late. The owner adds sheriff’s finally came to evict her in September but Shirley bounced minutes before they arrived. Pacific Shore is suing for rent owed and late fees. We’ve reached out to Shirley, so far no word back.

Like the Old School saying goes, ‘trouble don’t last always,’ so this, too, will pass for the lovebirds. The good news about Shirley and her husband though, is that they’re still going strong!

Some of y’all may recall when Ernesto shocked the hell outta Shirley, by having Steve and the rest of the Harvey Show staff help him surprise her with his on-air marriage proposal in 2014…

By 2015, they jumped the broom at a beautiful Atlanta mansion, where Steve walked Shirley down the isle…

Today, as you can see in the photo below, they’re still together and loving every second of their newly married life. Gotta love it!

Comedian/radio personality, Steve Harvey, and Bill Cosby go way back like Cracker Jacks. So much so, that according to Harvey, Cosby did a very interesting thing to protect him in recent years. It all started after Cosby became the center of controversy, following the many sexual assault allegations that surfaced against him.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Harvey discussed what it’s been like watching a man who is like his hero, go through the legal troubles he’s having now. In discussing that, Steve revealed why Cosby told him to “stay away” from him.

Cosby To Harvey: “Stay Away”

Harvey recalled what Cosby demanded he do, in order to protect him:

“When I heard all the trouble he [Cosby] was in, I called and asked him how he was doing. You know what he says to me? ‘Hey man, I appreciate you calling, but just stay away from me right now. You don’t need none of this on you. You’re doing good. Whatever happens to me, happens to me, but don’t get none of this on you,'” revealed Harvey. “That’s an amazing thing for a guy to say.”

What Cosby Did For Harvey’s Kids & Why He’s Forever Grateful

Although Steve says it’s now been months since he’s last spoken with Cosby, he remains closely connected to him out of loyalty for what Cosby’s done for his career and his children:

“When I’m your friend, I’m your friend. […] And Bill Cosby helped my sons at Morehouse (College), and he taught me how to do this business. He didn’t even know me and he taught me how to do this business.”

Steve Harvey may not have much to say to his staff members (LOL, sorry I couldn’t resist that one), but at least he had a few interesting things to say about his friend, Bill Cosby.

Speaking of Cosby, he’s prepping for his April 2018 sex assault retrial against accuser, Andrea Constand, and he’s got a new legal team this time.

“I didn’t see that coming. Jesus.”

When Steve Harvey agreed to meet with President-elect Donald J. Trump, he was called everything but a child of God. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Harvey talked about how the infamous meeting was set up and his single biggest regret: not listening to his wife. Marjorie Harvey told her husband to skip the sit-down with Trump and now he wishes he had.

“Now here’s the crazy thing: I’m supposed to be on a boat for my 60th birthday, so my wife says, ‘Steve, just take off [and skip the meeting]. You’ll meet with him some other time,'” Steve recalled. “God, I should’ve listened.”

Harvey’s friendship with President Obama was part of his motivation to at least try to work with the incoming administration. So when Trump’s team called, Harvey answered.

“…my business partner got a call from the Obama transition team, who said that the Trump transition team would like to set up a meeting,” Harvey said. “The Obama team said they thought it would be a good idea because the president is encouraging dialogue. And I have a relationship with Obama. We’re friends. So I say, ‘OK, cool.'”

The Black community and many of Harvey’s peers came for Harvey’s neck. They saw his willingness to sit down with Trump after all of the racist and hateful campaign rhetoric as a betrayal. Harvey says he wasn’t ready for what came next.

“The backlash. It was so vicious that it really threw me,” Harvey said. “I was being called names that I’ve never been called: Uncle Tom. A coon. A sellout. Because I went to see this man?”

Harvey went on to talk about what happened during the meeting with Trump. For the first 20 minutes, they talked about golf. But Harvey then leveled with Trump saying that although he supported Hilary Clinton in the election, he was still willing to help.

Harvey told Trump that he wanted to connect with Dr. Ben Carson, the head of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and find a way to turn failing schools into vision centers where STEM, computers, and coding are taught. Within minutes, Trump had Carson on the phone.

The good news is that Harvey and Carson are making progress. They have had meetings, set up teams, and are looking to announce a finalized plan for the first vision center by the year’s end. But as far as maintaining any kind of relationship with Trump, Harvey won’t be going down that road again anytime soon.

“No, I haven’t talked to him since,” Harvey said.

Lesson learned.

It’s been a few months since the infamous rudely worded memo Steve Harvey sent to his staff surfaced online, but in interviews, he’s still finding himself between a rock and a hard place over it. He’s currently promoting his new daytime show, which he’s permanently moved from Chicago to Los Angeles, CA. During the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, Steve was asked about the memo again.

In May, news spread about Steve’s memo to his Chicago employees, which partly read:

“Do not come to my dressing room unless invited….Do not approach me while I’m in the makeup chair unless I ask to speak with you directly. […] Do not take offense to the new way of doing business. It is for the good of my personal life and enjoyment.”

Harvey On Memo: “I Thought It Was Cute”

After receiving major public backlash, he still doesn’t think it should have been deemed as offensive, but he did reveal that he learned a couple lessons from all of it.

Via Variety: “I learned two things from that email…I can’t write and I should never write,” Harvey quipped. “It was something I wrote a year ago and someone didn’t get a job coming to LA and they got pissed,” he confirmed.

“I was OK until I saw it on CNN and that’s when I know I was in a lot of trouble,” Harvey continued, bringing up the media firestorm that surrounded the controversy. “The email was out there and it wasn’t a big deal to me at all…I’m not a mean-spirited guy — I’m a very congenial guy to people who know me.” Poking fun at the entire situation, Harvey added, “I thought it was cute. You all didn’t.”

Most Staff Of Harvey’s Chicago Team Let Go

It was also confirmed that the prior claim that Steve had fired most of his current Chicago staff just before his relocation to Cali, is true. The producer for Harvey’s new Cali daytime show, Shane Farley, was with Harvey for the Television Critics Association press tour interview and confirmed that only 10 of Harvey’s 60 staff members were relocating to Cali with Harvey. The other employees will have to find new employment:

Via Variety: “The current staff that we have is because the type of the show that we’re doing,” Farley said,noting that many of the new staffers have experience in live news and all come from different background and settings, which will benefit the changes in format and tone on the new show.

Social Media vs. TV

The fact that Steve didn’t really get worried about his memo’s public backlash until it hit CNN’s television station, says a lot about how in-tune he was not with the social media at that time. He was already getting a virtual beatdown from millions of fans on social media over his email memo, long before CNN reported it. By the time that happened, the damage was already done and well circulated throughout Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and probably on every other social media platform you can think of.

Next time, Steve may be able to stay on top of his next public problem, if he- or his team- keep their ears to these social media streets…just a suggestion. But hey, at least he says he’s learned something from all of this.

Steve Harvey just can’t catch a break this year. First, his ex-wife, Mary Shackelford, hit him with a $60 million lawsuit. Now, The Steve Harvey Show has also been slapped with a lawsuit. Although he’s adamantly defended himself where his ex-wife is concerned, he may be facing a whole ‘nother set of problems with the latest lawsuit.

The Studio Mishap:

According to The Jasmine Brand, a woman named Sandra Munoz fell in the studio on Feb. 17, 2016, after attending a taping of the show. It has been reported that the lawsuit, filed last week, documents injuries the woman reportedly sustained after falling at the NBC Tower studio in Chicago, Illinois where The Steve Harvey Show was taped.

The woman reportedly fell from the stairway to the ground. Her attorneys are accusing the producers and studio of creating a “dangerous condition and unreasonable risk of harm by failing to install full-length handrails.” Munoz also argues that the staff failed to disclose the possibility of the stairway being a hazard and they did not help audience members as they came in and out of the studio.

Seeking Damages:

Munoz’s attorneys are also seeking compensation in the amount of $50,000 for damages, due to a claim of negligence. The cost will cover “lost wages, medical expenses, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, loss of a normal life, and physical and emotional trauma, all of which are permanent.” Although the lawsuit isn’t nearly as mind-blowing as the one Steve’s ex-wife previously filed, it is more drama to add to Steve’s pot. The latest lawsuit follows a string of reports where Steve has been criticized and slammed left and right- some of which he brought on himself after urging fans to join him in supporting Donald Trump. Steve may not be directly affected by this particular lawsuit, but unfortunately, his name is still attached to it.

Steve Harvey and his estranged ex-wife, Mary Vaughn, are at each other’s throats yet again. A couple months ago, we reported details about Mary’s massive $60 million lawsuit and now Steve has fired back with his own legal filing. According to Bossip, Steve’s attorneys are requesting to have the lawsuit tossed out. The famed comedian/talk show host didn’t hold back when he reportedly shared his opinion of his ex-wife.

Frivolous and Embarrassment?:

It has been reported that documents obtained from the filing have revealed Steve’s scathing opinion about the whole ordeal. The Steve Harvey Show host has turned the tables and blamed Mary for her own downfall. Steve claims Mary is to blame for the long, drawn-out “pattern of harassment” against him. Steve went on to say that his ex-wife has been unable to move forward with her life since they split back in 2005 and she has a history of media slander.

“Unwilling to move on with her life, Ms. Vaughn has engaged in a prolonged pattern of harassment and vexatious litigation against Mr. Harvey that has resulted in four separate injunction orders and a judicial finding of contempt against Ms. Vaughn for violating these orders on at least 20 occasions,” Steve’s answer, obtained by Bossip, states.

Not Backing Down:

Despite Steve’s attempt to clap back at Mary, it’s probably safe to say his efforts won’t stop her pursuit. One thing is for sure: Mary has been fighting for years in hopes of recouping the losses she suffered as a result of the divorce. For as long as fans can probably remember, Mary has claimed that Steve cheated on her with his current wife, Marjorie. In fact, she even claims Steve and Marjorie – who was reportedly an employee of Steve and Mary’s company during their marriage – took over and phased her out of their business. She also claims he falsified records to have the divorce finalized without her consent.

“Steve Harvey owes me $50 million, and I want him arrested for violating my civil rights!,” she said. “I want him charged with a constitutional rights violation, falsifying documents, perjury, contempt of court, embezzlement, extortion, and collusion. For what he’s done to me, I want to see Steve Harvey behind bars!” She continued, “The judge said our divorce would be contingent upon the division of community assets,” she added. “But that never happened.”

It looks like Steve won’t ever be totally done with Mary until he comes up with the cash she believes she’s entitled to, because she’s not backing down.

Steve’s Controversial Comments

Many of you probably recall when Steve Harvey cracked a controversial joke live on his radio show, to a Flint, MI fan, telling the to go “enjoy your nice brown glass of water.” The joke was made during Steve’s competitive conversation with the fan, regarding the NBA championship, after the Cleveland Cavaliers lost to Oakland Cali’s Golden State Warriors.

As we previously reported, Steve caught major flack over his joke from many who viewed his comment as being insensitive to the seriously toxic health crisis that Flint’s governor, Rick Snyder, intentionally thrusted upon the people of Flint, MI. Currently their drinking water is severely tainted due to the governor’s decision to switch their water supply from the properly treated Detroit Water and Sewerage Department water (from Lake Huron and the Detroit River), to the Flint River.

Christian Keyes Slammed Harvey In Epic Video Message

Well now, actor, Christian Keyes, done opened up a virtual can of whoop a$$ on Steve! First, Christian started his video by saying directly to Harvey, “Kinda disappointed man, that you find that joke-worthy.” He went on to slam Steve for making light of such a dire situation, by pointing out the massive lead poisoning (9,000 cases in Flint since the water crisis began) and the many kids who are having developmental problems as a result of the polluted water Flint residents are being forced to drink and utilize in their homes.

Keyes also made note of how the Flint community has supported Steve through thick and thin, even when they may not have really had the access means to do so, they still did.

“We’ve supported you through a lotta stuff man.” said Christian. But he ended his video message with an epic ending, by telling Steve Harvey: “This is the perfect time for you to lift up that heavy ass mustache of yours and apologize” to the people of Flint, Michigan. We all know that comedians, such as Harvey, are trained to push the envelope. However, one would think that the amount of heat Steve’s been catching lately with his questionable moves- starting with his support of Donald Trump- that he’d be a wee bit more carefully censored these days. So uh…Harvey if you, or your people, are reading this, hopefully they’ll advise you to speak up and explain yourself for this one, because Christian Keyes does have a point, just saying.

It looks like Steve Harvey’s ex-wife/mother of his child, will have a legal fight on her hands over her recently filed lawsuit against him. Mary Harvey and Steve were married from 1996 to 2005, but she’s suing over what she says has transpired since then.

As we previously reported, Mary’s just hit Steve with a $60 million lawsuit for the physical, emotional and psychological anguish she says she’s endured as result of his actions ever since they divorced. In her lawsuit, Mary also revealed that because Steve took her son away from her, she has been suicidal and self-medicating just to deal with the pain throughout the years. TMZ listed the details in Mary’s lawsuit as seeking damages for ‘child endangerment, torture, conspiracy against rights, kidnapping, murder, breach of contract and intentional infliction of emotional distress.’

In a recent interview Mary Harvey also dropped a ton of bombshells about the various ways she says Steve has purposely destroyed her life and how she’s also gone to jail for speaking out about it publicly. There apparently is a clause Mary said Steve put in their custody documents which prohibits her from discussing certain things about their past marriage. Mary made it clear that she will never stop talking about what she’s going through over ‘losing her son to Steve.’

Steve’s Response

Well now that the lawsuit is out, Steve has responded by way of his attorney. Basically his reaction is like “Awww HELL naw!”…except, not in so many words. Check out what his lawyer, Brandon Williams, had to say about Steve’s ex-wife’s claims and $60 mill’ lawsuit:

Via TMZ: Mr. Harvey vehemently denies any allegations set forth in the lawsuit. The Complaint is meritless, frivolous and the allegations are completely false. We will vigorously defend/counterclaim against the Complaint.

By the way, Mary Harvey made it widely known in prior interviews that she has no money and alleged that Steve left her down and out when they divorced. So that’s probably why she didn’t have an actual attorney file the $60 million lawsuit, but instead had a woman whom refers to herself as ‘Mary’s civil right’s activist’ do so on her behalf.

Overall, Mary and her legal representative might as well strap on their seat belts and chill…this is probably gonna be a long, bumpy ride.

A Laundry List Of Accusations?:

According to E! News, Mary’s attorneys have a laundry list of accusations toward Steve to justify the lawsuit. It has been reported that Mary resorted to methods of self-medication and even contemplated suicide in order to deal with the aftermath she was faced with due to their highly publicized divorce.

Court documents have also revealed Steve Harvey has been accused of “child endangerment, torture, conspiracy against rights, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of contract and even “soul murder.” The lawsuit states: “Soul murder is achieved by a combination of torture, deprivation, and brainwashing,” reports the publication.

Steve Harvey isn’t a fan favorite these days. Due to his support of Donald Trump, Steve rubbed fans the wrong way months ago. But, last week Steve turned heads again when a memo to his staffers was leaked. well folks, now a new layer has just been added to the ever-intensifying heat Steve’s been catching…it’s getting hot as hell in his kitchen…

More Drama:

For most fans, the memo shed light on an unfavorable side of Steve because his demands seemed a bit harsh. Shortly after the memo made headlines, Steve spoke with Entertainment Tonight and confirmed that the memo was authentic and made no apologies for his demands. “I don’t apologize about the letter, but it’s kind of crazy what people who took this thing and ran, man. I just didn’t want to be in this prison anymore where I had to be in this little room, scared to go out and take a breath of fresh air without somebody approaching me, so I wrote the letter.”

But despite Steve’s explanation, some fans are tired of his actions. Now, a new online petition is calling for Steve to be boycotted because of his seemingly rude actions.

The Petition:

A petition has surfaced on Change.org and fans are being asked to boycott the comedian/talk show host. In the petition, Steve was labeled a ‘coon’ and ‘sell-out’ for his alleged loyalty to Trump. But, that’s not all. He’s even been accused of turning his back on fans. Check out a part of the petition below:

“TV Host Steve Harvey, is the latest victim of a Trump Tower meeting, and most recent African American celebrity to sell his soul to current president-elect Donald Trump. Harvey’s claim that President Obama urged the meeting with Trump hasn’t been confirmed by The White House, and many like comedian DL Hughley see this as nothing but another celebrity photo-op. Steve Harvey who’s known for crowning the wrong winner, racist jokes aimed at Asian Men, and coonish comedy on his morning show, turned his back on millions of loyal listeners and went from dismissing the racist/sexist Donald Trump to full praise mode.”

The petition continued, “We aim to have The Steve Harvey Morning Show removed and replaced with something all listeners can enjoy from Asian to African American.”

Steve Harvey has yet to respond to the petition, but I can only imagine that his publicist are getting paid overtime right about now to clean up this PR nightmare.
