Tron Austin, the son of TLC’s Chilli and producer, Dallas Austin, is celebrating a special milestone – becoming a father. Both at the age of 53, Chilli and Dallas are now proud grandparents. Tron and his wife, Jeong Ah Wang, have welcomed their daughter, Lua, into the world, bringing incredible joy to the fam.’

Tron took to Instagram to share the news, posting a cool photo of himself, Wang, and their newborn daughter cuddled up in a hospital bed. Expressing his excitement, he wrote, “We are officially parents!!” The couple’s daughter arrived a bit earlier than expected, surprising them with her early arrival.

Tron expressed his pride in Wang’s bravery and courage, considering that they were not expecting their daughter for another three days. He emphasized how grateful he was for their little family, calling it a dream come true.

“On this day March 2nd , 2024 at 1:59pm 6.173 LBS/2.8kg an angel from heaven was born our beautiful daughter LUA婁娥) we are officially parents !! So let me tell you guys something, She was scheduled for March 6th on a Wednesday but nope she wanted to come sooner! This morning my wives water broke at 7am and we immediately got packed as soon as we could and headed to the hospital which is a hour and thirty minutes drive from where we are btw. She went into an [emergency] C section at 1pm our nerves were high and our anxiety was through the roof but despite all of that she powered through and gave birth to a healthy beautiful baby girl!! I am so beyond proud of her bravery and courage to do this so off guard we literally expected 3 more days but God always has his plan first ! Eternally grateful to say we have officially started our family! This is a dream come true we started dating on September 22,2018 fast forward almost 6 years later we are married with our first child life’s journey has now truly begun!!!” – Tron Austin

Tron and his wifey tied the knot in December 2022, and their love and support for each other during their fertility journey have been unwavering. Tron posted touching pictures on his Instagram Story, showcasing their newborn daughter swaddled up and adorably bundled with Wang.

Reflecting on this new chapter of their lives, Tron stated his dedication to protecting and cherishing his wife and daughter. He acknowledged the blessings that have come their way and declared that he was put on this earth to be their guardian.

As Tron Austin and Jeong Ah Wang embark on this exciting adventure of parenthood, their love and devotion to their daughter, Lua, clearly shine bright. Congrats to Tron and his wife, Jeong, on becoming first-time parents! Ironically, Chilli and Marni didn’t grow up together, but they share the same love of music. Marni has been a contemporary gospel artist since the mid-’90s, around the same time TLC was crackin’…

They are now reportedly estranged. Marni revealed, in a Youtube interview, that “the devil” tore them apart, but she expressed that she hopes to reconnect with her sister one day in the near future.

TLC member, T-Boz released a book, titled “A Sick Life: TLC ‘n Me: Stories from on and Off the Stage.” In it, she’s talking about the many hardships she’s faced throughout her life, including her health and life-threatening illness, sickle cell anemia, as well as the horrible things she says her Pops did to her. T-Boz also exposed her dad’s past girlfriend and his current wife for reportedly doggin’ her as well.

Her Claims About Her Father

In a prior interview on The Breakfast Club, T-Boz went into detail about her Pops:
– Her father allegedly dogged her on Christmases and she would sit by the window, crying. One Christmas in particular, T-Boz said that her dad lied and told her he was coming, but that he actually was getting married that day…without telling her. He never called her back that Christmas day and never showed up, according to T-Boz.

– As of 2017, he’d never met her child: T-Boz said that at TLC’s concert, her dad showed up and “fronted for the cameras,” pretending to be a great grandfather to her daughter, Chase. T-Boz said that was a bold faced lie:

“I did a show and he was frontin’ for the cameras basically and was saying, ‘Oh Chase if you ever need to talk…’ He don’t call Chase. He’s never even met Chance, my son, and he’s 2.”

– T-Boz says her Dad “allowed” his girlfriends to mentally and physically abuse her when she was as young as “8, 7, [and] 6.” “One of them (her dad’s wife), tried to throw me in a bath of hot water,” she said. T-Boz also said that her dad’s then girlfriend would slap her hand out of her own father’s hand whenever T-Boz would hold her dad’s hand as a child. She also revealed that the girlfriend used to blackmail her and slap her food off the table when her dad wasn’t looking. Through all of that, T-Boz revealed that her dad would never say anything in her defense.

T-Boz’s Claims About Dad’s Current Wife

According to T-Boz, her Pops also ended up marrying a woman she says has tried to sleep with two of her boyfriends and her ex-husband (assuming she’s referring to her ex-husband, Mack 10).

“He still with her. […] She tried to sleep with two of my boyfriends and my ex-husband.”

Does T-Boz Care If Her Dad Will Be Angry

When asked if she’s worried that her book will damage what little relationship she has with her dad, T-Boz made it clear that she does not give a damn what he thinks because “that’s what happened.” She says he’ll have to just man up and own the foul father he was to her. She also made it clear that though , that she loves her Pops and that she’s been at a place of forgiveness, in regards to him, for a long while now:

“As an adult, I just came to the realization of I’m just hurting myself being angry. That’s not gonna change anything ’cause he’s still gonna be who he is. So that’s on God to fix him, or whether he repents or apologizes…whatever. The bible says ‘I’m supposed to honor thy father,’ so I’ll love him from afar.”

ILOSM fam,’ remember when TLC’s T-Boz and Westcoast rapper, Mack 10, jumped the broom back in the day? At that time, their union caught many fans off guard because from the outside looking in, it was like watching Whitney Houston marry Bobby Brown. As y’all know…when Bobby and Whitney first married, everybody and their mommas thought it was such and oil and water marriage that wasn’t gonna last. Yet, little did they know, Bobby and Whitney proved to everyone that they had “something in common,” just like their song. Anyways, as far as Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Dedrick “Mack 10” Rolison’s union, turns out they didn’t have something in common…except for their daughter, Chase Rolison. How do we know that? Because they’re union didn’t last nowhere near as long as Bobby’s and Whitney’s.

It was 21 years ago that T-Boz and Mack 10 said “I do” in 2000. A few years later they separated, ultimately divorcing in 2004. Their divorce process uncovered several unfortunate details about their marriage, which we’ll get to in a minute. Despite their past marital turbulence, it is their daughter whom they’re most proud of…and she’s recently turned 21 years old!

One R&B singer had a privilege many old-school fans may have dreamed about as teenagers – kissing the one and only Michael Jackson! Back in the ’80s, the “Billie Jean” singer was probably considered the biggest crush any young girl could imagine. Now, one singer is confirming that the late, legendary performer was everything you probably dreamed about.

R&B singer, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, of TLC, was actually kissed by Michael Jackson, not once but twice! The former reality star, who hasn’t had the best luck finding love, actually gushed about Michael. She recounted her memorable moment with him and how it felt to be kissed by the one and only! Chilli also joked about how differently things would have been if she’d anticipated such a kiss.

Chilli: “Don’t nobody talk about Mike…that is my husband,” she said. “We kiss twice on the lips, thank you…The first time I met Michael Jackson we hugged. He was not going for the lips at first…he went here and I went like that, I got half the lips…The last time I was around him he grabbed my face and said, ‘I know that face!’…He grabbed me and kissed me right on the lips…Y’all know I don’t be kissing people like that but I would’a tongued him down…and I’m not easy girl, but I woulda been a sure thing.”

We loved us some Left Eye, here at I Love Old School Music. Although the beloved TLC member has been gone from this 16 years, her legacy and very strong personality will never be forgotten because of the many memories she left behind.  Left Eye was never one to hide who she was from the world. She shared it all- her highs and lows- including that  infamous mansion fire she set to her boyfriend/ex-NFL player, Andre Rison’s, residence on June 9, 1994.

Left Eye spoke several times about that incident in various interviews, but there was one piece of the puzzle that rapper, Salt (of Salt-N-Pepa) let the world know about years later.  In her autobiography, Let’s Talk About Pep, Pepa revealed that she, too,  had a lil’ sumthin’ sumthin’ to do with Left Eye starting that bathtub fire that turned Andre’s mansion into an inferno. Pepa’s History With Andre Rison & Left Eye

Excerpt from Sandra “Pepa” Denton’s book, Let’s Talk About Pep, detailing her involvement in the Left Eye/Andre Rison mansion fire:

It just seemed that all of my problems revolved around men – even when it wasn’t my fault. Even when I wasn’t directly involved. One example of this was in 1994. I ended up in one of those National Enquirer type of magazines under a headline: “Is Pepa a Home Wrecker?” Remember the night Lisa (Left Eye) Lopes burned down the house of Andre Rison (former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver)? Well, I was sort of in the middle of that.

Andre and I never messed around. I’m innocent of that crime. I am so innocent. But I did know him and we were really cool. Salt-N-Pepa used to do a lot of NFL spots for Monday Night Football. And we would do some NFL parties. I met Andre at one of those parties and we hit it off. We went bowling and were bugging out and laughing. I would bump into him from time to time at different clubs. And that was it.

He told me later how everything went down. Apparently he had been talking about me to her. Telling her how cool I was. Brothers, you can’t do that. Your girl will immediately be suspicious. Now, maybe he did like me like that, but again, we never went there. One night, he and Lisa are watching TV and my video comes on, and he gets all excited and says something like “Pep, that my girl!”

The Heated Misunderstanding That Led To The Fire

Pepa then explained, in her autobiography, what transpired the night of the mansion fire:

Maybe she was feeling that he was trying to holler at me and she didn’t like it. That very night, we had a concert at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, and Andre and Lisa came to the show. I got them backstage tickets and the whole nine.

After the show, I was backstage and I left my dressing room for something. At the same time, Andre was nowhere to be found. Lisa came into my dressing room looking for him, and when she didn’t see me and couldn’t find him, she jumped to conclusions. She assumed that we were together. This is what he told me. She finally found him and they went home and argued that whole night. He told me he couldn’t take it anymore and left. When he did, that’s when the teddy bears and the sneakers went in the Jacuzzi with the lighter fluid and the whole house got burned to the ground.

That was a huge story. And the tabloids had started getting wind of what happened. Lisa talked about him cheating, but no one knew the whole story or the truth. Then I end up in this tabloid in a picture from the “Shoop” video with that headline: “Is Pepa A Home Wrecker?” TLC was a big group. And Salt-N-Pepa was huge, too. And you add in an NFL star and a burned-down mansion and you have the makings of a real scandal. It was about to be on. That story was going to catch fire like Andre’s house. I was saved, though. That same week O.J. Simpson decided to kill his wife and her friend in California. And nobody really cared about Andre Rison, Lisa (Left Eye) Lopes, and me. Thank you, O.J.! But that incident showed me how crazy we women can get over a man. I was Lisa. I have been on that side of it…

Lawd today! Like we always say: We learn something new ’round these parts everyday!

May Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes continue to rest peacefully. Her legacy was as beautiful, as it was colorful and we love that she lived life with no regrets. We truly appreciate Left Eye’s public displays of vulnerabilities and imperfections throughout the years, because they affirmed that celebs are real people, with real life ups and downs, just like the rest of us.

No Strangers to the Game

TLC has spent the last two decades influencing their fans to be crazy, sexy and cool. Even after Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes’ untimely passing in 2002 audiences remain drawn to TLC’s lasting appeal. During the early days of reality television T-Boz and Chilli offered their contribution with the short-lived series R U The Girl?. The show’s premise revolved around T-Boz and Chilli auditioning singers for a lifetime opportunity to perform with them onstage.

The landscape of reality television has changed drastically in the years since R U The Girl? aired. And though they’re pioneers of the genre TLC has revealed they have no desire to star on Bravo’s Sunday night staple  The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
