Remember the 1988 hit movie, Big, starring Tom Hanks? In case the movie doesn’t ring a bell, David Moscow played the character of young ‘Josh Baskin,’ who encounters a mysterious fortune-telling machine where he makes a wish. ‘Baskin’ wishes to be “big” and his wish is granted when he becomes an adult overnight. The adult version of ‘Josh Baskin’ is played by actor, Tom Hanks.

Why They Broke Up

While Moscow is mostly known for his role in the movie “Big”, he is also known for dating Kerry Washington. Kerry and David met in high school and started dating in 2002. They got engaged in October of 2004 and split up in February of 2007. According to Kerry, the decision to break up was mutual. In speaking with Essence magazine, she shared that their break up wasn’t focused on who made mistakes but that it simply wasn’t working. Despite the fact that their break up was mutual, it was still very painful.

“When we were planning the wedding, I didn’t even feel like picking out a dress,” Kerry shared with Essence. “But I didn’t rush things; I let my intuition guide me. We realized that even though we love each other on a very profound level, we were doing emotional gymnastics to try to work things out. We thought that instead, maybe we should walk away. Of course, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been painful.”

Moving On:

When Kerry was dating David, their relationship was very public and they were often photographed with big smiles on their faces. This time around, Kerry did something different and kept her new relationship very quiet. After dating former 49ers cornerback, Nnamdi Asomugha, for 3 years…the couple wed in June 2013. If you caught the recent episode of  of “Empire” on April 18th (2018), then you were also introduced to the new recurring character, “Blake,” who played ‘Empire Record’s’ newest rap artist, signed to the Lyon dynasty. “Blake’s” rap battle against “Hakeem Lyon” (Bryshere Y. Hanks’ Son “Identifies” With Black Culture

Although Chet was raised in a plush lifestyle, underneath the realm of his famous parents, in a 2015 Instagram post, he said he ‘identifies’ with the Black, hip hop culture more than his own. How that came about? Not sure, but based on his seasoned rap abilities, his affinity for African American women (we’ll get to that in a minute) and his many hip hop and R&B songs he’s released throughout the years, I guess it’s safe to assume Chet is actually living his truth and not just talking it.

In early December (2016), Chet Hanks took to social media to make sure he announced news of his daughter, before the media did and to also address his followers, after he’d been M.I.A. for a while. He let them know he became a father during his absence and was grateful that the birth of his daughter had finally turned his prior troubled life around:

Like we mentioned earlier, following the reveal of Chet Hanks’ daughter and her mother, sadly, there was some negative comments and portrayal of the way Tiffany Miles was presented in the media. Obviously, it was due to the fact that she’s an African American woman, with beautiful chocolate skin, which apparently caused some to hate on her. After seeing what was being said about Tiffany, Chet spoke up in her defense on Twitter:

The fact that Chet, Tiffany, and the Hanks fam’ were able to keep Michaiah away from the public’s eye for the first 8 months, proves they did a great job shielding her. So now that she’s here, they should have nothing to fear. They all love the little girl unconditionally and for any of Hanks’ fans who are shallow enough to have a problem with that, the Hanks need to straight up tell them to kiss him where the sun don’t shine.

He has since been getting crazy reviews for his role as “Troy” in Irv Gotti’s BET TV series, Tales.
