Will Smith’s Security Confronts Intruder:

Last week, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department responded not once, but twice, to reports of a suspicious dude creepin’ around Will Smith’s gate. It seems the intruder was even asking for someone who didn’t live at Will’s property. Upon the first encounter, Will’s vigilant security team demanded that the man leave, and he complied, disappearing before the authorities arrived.

However, the lurker didn’t give up that easily. He managed to gain access to the grounds a short while later. Luckily, Will’s security acted swiftly, detaining the intruder before he could reach the house. The authorities promptly arrested the 37-year-old suspect, Robert Ogden, on a misdemeanor charge. Officers believed he posed a continuing threat and refused to release him without bail until he had faced a judge.

Thankfully, Will Smith was not present at the time of this alleged incident. However, it’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the Smith family has encountered unwanted visitors. Back in February 2024, Jada Pinkett-Smith had her own terrifying experience when two individuals reportedly climbed onto her balcony. Jada allegedly scared off the intruders when she came face to face with them as they were supposedly attempting to climb her balcony.

Separate Lives but Shared Security:

Interestingly, Will and Jada live apart, which became public knowledge when Jada revealed that they had actually separated nearly a decade ago. The recent security breaches at their respective homes have raised concerns about the safety of both Hollywood stars. It all started with the infamous slap Will Smith gave to Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars. The incident caused a serious dent in Will’s image, leading to a decline in high-profile contributors who had previously supported the foundation. Tax records reveal a significant drop in the foundation’s revenue, from $2,138,660 in 2021 to just $365,870 in 2022, representing an 83% year-over-year decrease.

Contributors such as American Airlines and CAA, who had donated crazy amounts in the past, also distanced themselves from the foundation. The departure of these influential donors further contributed to the decline in revenue.

Sources close to the foundation confirmed that Will and Jada had already decided to wind down the organization before the Oscars incident. They now intend to focus on charitable causes privately, ensuring the same level of financial support while avoiding public scrutiny.

Despite the decline in revenue, the Will And Jada Smith Family Foundation made notable contributions to various organizations in 2022. They donated $100,000 to the American Film Institute and $2,500 to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Additionally, smaller organizations such as Rebecoming and World Rebirth Foundation received financial support.

Rebecoming, an organization dedicated to understanding non-ordinary states of consciousness for trauma release, and World Rebirth Foundation, focused on helping those in need with life and job skills, were among the recipients. However, reaching out to these organizations proved challenging, as their websites and contact details were outdated or unresponsive.

The foundation’s financial struggles also included significant expenses, like office equipment and computers. Notably, they incurred a staggering $3,304 in bank overdraft fees.

Despite the closure of their foundation, Will Smith continues to command significant paydays in Hollywood. It is reported that he is set to earn $25 million for both the upcoming sequel “Bad Boys 4” and Netflix’s “Fast and Loose.”

The decision to shut down the Will And Jada Smith Family Foundation was undoubtedly a difficult one. However, it demonstrates the challenges faced by even the most prominent celebrities when their philanthropic efforts are overshadowed by controversy.

Will Smith, the legendary Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star, recently opened up about his “one and only date” with Pepa from Salt-N-Pepa, and sounds like it was most definitely a wild ride! In a candid conversation on his “Class of ’88” podcast, Will confessed that he was low-key terrified during their outing in the late ’80s.

Picture this: a young Will Smith, with his heart racing and palms sweaty, took Sandra “Pepa” Denton out for a spin in a swanky white Mercedes convertible. He had been crushin’ on her for ages, and when fate finally brought them together in L.A., he seized the opportunity to impress her.

The plan was simple, yet romantic – a drive along Mulholland Drive to soak in the beautiful sunset, and show her the glitz and glamour of Hollywood Hills. Now, let’s talk about the twin Smith siblings and their dope lives. Meet Ellen, Harry, and Pamela a.k.a. Pam, the crew that always keeps it real with “fresh prince” Will.

So, Harry is the CEO of Smith Global Media, a distribution company that scored a plush deal with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in 2017. Harry has also worked with Will in real estate and with his company, Overbrook Entertainment.

He’s all about that business hustle, making moves in the entertainment industry. And you know what? He’s also a proud pops, showing off his adorable kids on social media every chance he gets. Can’t blame him, his little mini-me’s are too cute!

Twin, Ellen Smith

Now let’s talk about Ellen, the CEO and Founder of Dining with Divas. She’s a licensed cosmetology instructor, a badass mom, and a philanthropist.

Her charity is all about supporting women and their families when they’re going through tough times. It all started with her project, Mother’s Day at the Mansion, where she brought together moms in need for a beautiful celebration. The event had everything, from catered meals, to spa treatments, and performances. And you know who showed up to support? Will himself, speaking at the 2014 edition that was all about Autism Awareness. That’s what family is all about, having each other’s backs.

It’s unclear what Ashley does for a living, but one thing is evident– she is a proud mommy of one young son and is enjoying motherhood to the fullest.

Despite all the drama surrounding Will, at the end of the day…the Smith siblings are a tight-knit crew, rockin’ their own paths and supporting each other along the way. As we informed our ILOSM fam’ of a while back, two of Will Smith’s younger siblings are fraternal twins. One of whom is his brother, Harry Smith (50). Word on the Old School curb is that Harry has been working behind the scenes with Will (52) for many years now in both the entertainment and real estate world.

In fact, in June 2017, it was announced that Will and Harry Smith’s media company, Smith Global Media inked a very lucrative distribution deal with Sony Pictures:

Via Variety– Smith Global Media and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have signed a distribution agreement for upcoming SGM releases through 2020. […] Harry Smith, Will Smith’s younger brother, heads Smith Global Media. Smith has worked with his brother in real estate and at Overbrook Entertainment. Variety first reported in October that Smith Global Media would handle its first release with the family drama “Believe,” which grossed $890,000 in 638 U.S. locations. Smith told Variety at that point that the company would distribute releases with budgets in the $5 million range.

It’s cool to see that Will was able to keep business in the family. Y’all know that sometimes family members are the worst people to employ. We’ve heard countless horror stories from celebs who tried to hook their family up with job opportunities, only to run it head first into the concrete. Then she became even more famous as the host of MTV’s video show, “Total Request Live (TRL)” and “The Hot Zone,” which she hosted from the mid-90’s up until 2001. Ananda’s also is known for her 2001 talk show, “The Ananda Lewis Show,” and has earned an NAACP nomination for her outstanding work as a television host.

In recent years, Will Smith has been revealing lots of interesting details about his life and his encounters with other colorful celebrities. This go ’round the rap/acting legend detailed what happened when he first met Michael Jackson. It is hilarious and awkward at the same damn time and it also involved Death Row Records founder, Suge Knight.

How He Met Mike & What Suge Had To Do With It

In his Youtube video, Will Smith said that Suge Knight is both to blame and to thank for him meeting his idol, Michael Jackson. Before fully revealing what happened, Will joked, “he still in jail, right?” referring to Suge who’s currently locked up for a 2015 hit and run incident. Will added that he just wanted to “make sure Suge is still in jail if I’m going to tell this story.”

Anywho, Will said he met Michael Jackson at the BET Awards back in the day, except instead of meeting him the way he attempted to- by walking over to him in the crowd- he met MJ in a dark, musty broom closet backstage. The reason being is because just as Will was about to go over to introduce himself to MJ, Will said Suge Knight started a big fight in the audience and caused mass mayhem.

Will explained that as the crowd begin to run for their lives, his bodyguard had to act quickly. “He opens the door and he shoves me into this dirty a$$ utility closet,” said Smith.

Recalling how he was standing in the funky closet, spooked and listening out for gunshots, as masses of people ran past the door, Will says he suddenly heard a high pitched voice say “Hey.” Lo and behold, it was Michael Jackson who, along with his bodyguards had been standing behind him in that dark closet the entire time. Apparently, MJ’s security also rushed him off to the nearest hideout they could find while Suge and his people were out there cuttin’ up.

Needless to say, Will did not want to meet MJ under those circumstances, but what happened next was even more bizarre and hilarious. As he tried to get over the shock that THE Michael Jackson was standing right there in front of him, Will said MJ asked him what he thought was going on outside the door. By then, the Fresh Prince star said he was nervous as hell, but trying to keep his cool in front of MJ, so all he could think to say was, “Suge and ‘nem trippin.”

Michael then told him, “Suge’s always trippin,’ all that success and he can’t figure out how to be happy.” Then came the odd turn in their convo when MJ asked Will, “So you like comic books?” Will says he just went with the flow and told MJ he loved comic books. That’s when MJ put him on the spot and asked which comic books were Will’s favorite, and Will made one up on the spot, named after BBD, as in Bell, Biv, DeVoe 😆.

Following their odd Suge Knight-comic book convo, Will Smith said MJ’s bodyguards then acted like they’d ‘never heard of Fresh Prince before’ and shoved him outta the way, to get MJ out of the closet and onto safety. Y’all have got to see what else he said happened in the hilarious video above.

As we all know, Will Smith once played boxing icon, Muhammad Ali…but little did we know, the brotha damn near had an Ali-George Forman “Rumble In The Jungle” moment behind the scenes with “In Living Color,” veteran, Tommy Davidson. According to Tommy, the fiasco was over Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith. It went down in 1998, as Tommy and Jada were in the midst of filming their movie, “Woo.”

What Had Happened Was…

In his memoir, “Living In Color,” Tommy Davidson revealed that he and Jada Pinkett-Smith formed a very close platonic bond during filming, and would oftentimes have several heartfelt personal talks on set. However, the near-fight with Will was supposedly sparked over something else altogether different…a on-set kiss.

Tommy wrote that he didn’t like the original ending for “Woo,” and the film’s producers agreed.  So, he called a phone meeting with Jada and the producers to discuss his idea for an alternative ending instead: to have his and Jada’s characters dance as the film credits rolled. Everyone liked Tommy’s ending better than the original, and agreed to go forward with his plan.

Though Tommy had previously discussed the kiss he felt his character should do with Jada’s during the dancing scene, he says he failed to mention it to Jada during the phone call:

“I didn’t know this: You have to rehearse a kiss,” Tommy Davidson writes. “You can’t just spring it on your costar … And I didn’t think it was all that big of a deal.”

Nevertheless, Tommy Davidson still felt comfortable enough with Jada to lean in for the kiss as they were filming the closing scene in “Woo.” He says as soon as he went for it, he can sense Jada flinching, likely because the kiss caught her off guard.

Needless to say that soon after the scene was wrapped, the kiss didn’t go over so well with Jada’s hubby, Will Smith – who was her fiancé at that time. According to Tommy, Will barged into his trailer and said, “I didn’t appreciate that.” Tommy says he responded by further provoking Will, seemingly in retaliation for Will steppin’ to him like that inside his trailer…things only got more heated from there:

“Will went all gangsta on me, saying what I did was not cool,” Davidson wrote. “There was a moment there when we might have come to blows. My reactive fight-or-flight instinct was triggered and I could have exploded.”

They’re In A Better Space Today

Thankfully, Tommy and Will’s potential “Rumble In The Jungle” brawl didn’t fully cross that line because Jada broke it up. Tommy wrote that Jada followed Will in hot pursuit as he was headed to Tommy’s trailer because she obviously sensed something was about to pop off. Sure enough Jada’s instincts were right, and she was able to step in to get Will and Tommy to calm down.

The great news is that Tommy Davidson says to this day, whenever he sees Will and Jada everything is super cool between them and neither he nor will hold ill feelings toward each other. On a side note, Tommy even took the time to credit Jada’s mom, Adrienne Banfield-Jones — a recovered drug addict — with helping him to kick his past drug habit years ago.

Gotta luv a happy ending right? Especially one that doesn’t involve “entanglement”…nor a slap, just sayin.’

After Will Smith’s infamous Chris-Rock-slap scandal, Will says boxing champ, Floyd Mayweather, came through for him in a major way…and he’s forever grateful.

As we all have heard by now, Will Smith was in a sunken place when he slapped the be-jeezus outta Chris Rock during the Academy Awards in February 2022. So much so, that he’d pretty much vanished from the public eye until he finally resurfaced with his apology video in July.

Fast forward to today, and Will has now revealed exactly how Floyd Mayweather helped him at that time. Will says immediately following ‘the slap,’ Floyd called him for ten days straight, in efforts to help Will pick his head back up…even though they weren’t really friends at that time. Will made the revelation during the latest screening for his new film, “Emancipation,” while Floyd was sitting in the audience.

“I want to say something also about Floyd,” Smith said in the video footage at the “Emancipation” event. “So, we’ve met each other, we’ve seen each other around, but we weren’t like, friends. And, the day after the Oscars, for 10 days he called me every day,” Smith added. “And, he was like, ‘Ay, you know you the champ, right? You good? You know you the champ, right? I want you to hear my voice say it,'”

“That was every day he called me … and it’s like, that’s my dude forever right there.”

Although Will clearly lost his cool — and apparently his invite to the Oscar’s for the next 10 years — when he slapped Chris, it’s still refreshing to know Floyd was there holdin’ Will up when he was at his lowest.

Floyd also took a minute to give Will his props for the “Emancipation” film, during the screening:

“Emancipation captures an important time in history. The movie has me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire film,” Floyd acknowledged to TMZ.

It’s been since March of this year (20222), that we’ve all last heard a peep out of Will Smith, who’s typically known for his positive, upbeat personality. However, this time…the man is clearly emotional, somber, and remorseful. Will has resurfaced in an emotional video message to his fans, which he shared online Friday morning.

In his video message he admits that he is “deeply remorseful” for slapping the bejeezus outta Chris Rock at Oscars 2022 a few months back.

Will’s video first starts off with words on the screen that read, “It’s been a minute. Over the last few months, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and personal work…,” the statement continued. “You asked a lot of fair questions that I wanted to take some time to answer.”

He can then be heard sighing, before stepping onto the screen to address why he did not apologize directly to Chris Rock shortly after slapping, as Will was accepting his ‘best actor’ award for his “King Richard Role.”

“I was fogged out by that point,” Smith confessed. “It’s all fuzzy. I’ve reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he’s not ready to talk and when he is, he will reach out. So I will say to you Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you are ready to talk.”

Will then went on to apologize to Chris’s mother and brother/comedic actor, Tony Rock — whom Will had a great friendship with. Though, he has now admitted that his friendship with Tony is likely a done dada:

“We had a great relationship,” Smith says. “Tony Rock was my man and this is probably irreparable.”

FYI: Tony Rock and Will go way back… Tony starred on the Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith produced 2007 sitcom, “All of Us.”

As y’all already know, Chris and Will go far back as well…except their relationship has been filled with crazy tension throughout the years. Chris had reportedly said some foul things about Will and Jada in the past; and Jada once seemingly stirred up beef with Chris in the past (i.e. the time Jada called out Chris Rock for hosting the Oscar Awards a few years ago, when #OscarsSoWhite was trending on social media, over the organization’s lack of inclusion).

Will also addressed the question of whether Jada — who suufers from alopecia — asked him to do something after Chris cracked his “G.I. Jane” joke about her shaved head at the Oscars. Will said that she did not.

Will confessed that he’s “spent the last three months replaying and understanding the nuance and the complexities of what happened in that moment. … I’m not going to try to unpack all of that right now, but I can say to all of you, there is no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave in that moment,” he says. “There’s no part of me that thinks that is the optimal way to handle a feeling of disrespect or insults.”

Smith then ended his video with a very transparent and profound message:

“Disappointing people is my central trauma,” he says.” I hate when I let people down so it hurts.” And to his supporters, Will stated “to putting light and love and joy into the world. … If you hang on I promise we’ll be able to be friends again,” he concluded.

Listen, we’re all human, and most of us have at least one moment in our lives where we’ve looked back on it and realized, ‘Damn…I shouldn’t have done that…it was stupid.’ Only difference is we didn’t have millions of eyes watching us screw up in real time. Therefore, I commend Will for being man enough to publicly acknowledge that moment for him, that is not easy. And I most definitely commend Chris Rock for being man enough to maintain his composure in that now-infamous Oscars-slap-moment.

Hopefully, in the future (hopefully the near future), we’ll see Will and Chris unite to work on a project together or something…now THAT would be one of the biggest moments in Hollywood…hands down.
