Wood Harris’ brother is actor Steve Harris! For those who don’t know, Steve’s acting career began in 1985 and has evolved over the past 30 years. He’s had recurring roles on popular shows like Law & Order and The Practice and he’s even starred in memorable movies like Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Quarantine, and 12 Rounds. Steve, 51, and Wood, 47 were born in Chicago, IL to John and Mattie Harris.

Although the two brothers now live a relatively comfortable lifestyle, due to their acting careers, they’ve admitted they weren’t born with silver spoons. They lived normal lives and come from humble beginnings.

“We had a very normal, sort of ghetto, urban upbringing,” Wood Harris recalls. “My father was a bus driver and my mother was a seamstress and a substitute school teacher, off and on.”

When Wood and Steve appeared on Arsenio, Wood admitted how much of a positive influence his brother was for him when they were growing up. Steve’s focus on academic success actually rubbed off on Wood.

“I was following in my brother’s footsteps when it came to academics,” admitted Wood. “My brother went to college and I was thinking that I needed to go too. But I only thought that scholarships were only given out to athletes. It was a new thing for me when I got an academic scholarship.”

“I took an acting class because I thought it was going to be an easy grade,” Steve confessed. “But it was a real acting class…and I enjoyed it!” Steve said. “It gave me the same high that I got when playing football.”…and I enjoyed it!” Steve said.

Actor, Wood Harris, who is known for his iconic role as  Avon Barksdale on the hit HBO series The Wire, is in the hot seat again. One of his alleged mistresses released a video tape of a phone call with Harris going in on a woman who claims that she was being manhandled by him.

Wood Harris Was Taped By An Alleged Mistresses Who Claimed He Beat Her:

Actor Wood Harris normally is not in the spotlight for drama.  However, two women have come forward painting the actor as a cheater. One of his mistresses even went so far to say that Harris is a woman beater. Wood Harris, who’s best known for his role as crime boss Avon Barksdale on the classic HBO series The Wire has been trending lately as a woman came forward with claims of domestic violence.

According to Bossip, a woman contacted them with footage from a phone call between her and actor Wood Harris. The woman claims to be a girlfriend of his and she made strong allegations of abuse. On the phone call, Harris can be allegedly heard telling the woman that she is a  “dumb *ss b*tch” and that she is reportedly upset that she is skinny. The woman responds by reportedly telling Harris that she loves him but she doesn’t want to be with anyway who lies about their marital status. As their conversation continued, the woman tells Harris that he’s not allowed to just take sex from her and that physical abuse is ok. Harris reportedly calls her a “stupid b*tch” and that he did not physically abuse her. At the end of the phone call, Harris tells the woman to take care of her kid and that he’s going to block her number.

Bossip never released the name of the woman who recorded the phone call. However, given the recent chain of events, it’s quite possible that the woman on the phone call could be Anya Richardson…but again, that hasn’t been confirmed.

Second Mistress Alleges That Wood Harris Gave Her The Beat Down For No Reason:

Anya Richardson contacted TMZ  stating that she had been abused by her married boyfriend, Wood Harris. Richardson had allegedly been dating for 2 years despite the fact that Harris has been married to a woman named Rebekah for 17 years. Harris has 2 children with Rebekah as they got married in 2001. According to TMZ, Richardson was allegedly asked to come to Philly by Harris as he is filming Creed II. To her surprise, Richardson was physically attacked by Harris for no reason.

According to a police report, obtained by TMZ, Richardson claimed he struck her multiple times in the stomach, neck and ribs. Richardson also alleged he spat on her face and choked her.

Richardson claims that her wounds required her to go to the hospital. In addition to a hospital visit, she also made a police report with the Philadelphia police department as she plan to press charges. However, because the Philadelphia police could not prove that the attack occurred, the charges were dismissed.

Actor, Wood Harris, has accomplished great feats in his career. He’s best known for his past ‘Avon Barksdale’ role on the “The Wire,” series and for his real life portrayals in the biopics, “Paid In Full” and “The New Edition Story.” What he is now becoming known for has nothing to do with his acting and everything to do with his married life and the reported mistresses he has on the side.

Harris has been married to his wife, Rebekah Harris (pictured above), for 17 years (m. 2001). However, news has just surfaced that he is involved in a another scandal with another alleged mistress. This would be his second mistress to surface in less than a year.

Reported Mistress’ Claims Against Wood Harris

The other day, Harris received good news in a police case he caught after his reported mistress #2, Anya Richardson, filed claims against him. Back in April of this year (2018), Richardson originally filed a police report against Harris, alleging he’d beaten her in a Philadelphia hotel room, after losing his temper. She says they’d been dating for 2 years by that time and she wanted charges pressed.

According to a police report, obtained by TMZ, Richardson claimed he struck her multiple times in the stomach, neck and ribs. Richardson also alleged he spat on her face and choked her.

[Richardson also says] Harris invited her to Philly where he was shooting “Creed II.” She tells us they were in his hotel room when the unprovoked attack allegedly went down. She says she went to the hospital the next day and reported the incident to police the day after her hospital visit. We spoke to a rep for the Philadelphia D.A.’s Office who tells us … they could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt a crime had occurred, so they declined to prosecute. -via TMZ

Wood Harris Cleared Of Charges

The good news for Harris- at least regarding this case…but probably not regarding his wife- is that the D.A. has now dropped the case, due to lack of evidence. Now, his alleged mistress #2 is ready to pounce on him in another legal way.

Mistress Threatens Harris With More Legal Action

Anya Richardson’s attorney, Alberto Ebanks, released a statement, promising that his client, “feels there is little choice but to pursue alternative remedies to help protect other women from the threat of assault.”

Wood Harris’ Team Speaks On Beatdown Claims

On the flip side, Wood Harris’ team stated, “The account by this woman is pure fabrication. Wood was never questioned by the authorities and that should speak to the authenticity of the accusation. No further comment.”

In September 2017, another alleged mistress, Stoney Alexander, blasted Harris all up and down social media, after learning he was married. At that time, Stoney claimed to be pregnant by Harris and later found out about his wife, Rebekkah, whom she reportedly then had a text convo’ with. Industry On Blast released the text exchange between Stoney and Rebekkah. The texts showed that Stoney reportedly not only learned about Wood Harris’ wife, but his wife also informed Stoney there were other mistresses she’d found out about as well:

After coming forward as Harris’ infuriated pregnant mistress #1, Stoney never publicly spoke about him again and has no photos of a new baby posted online. She only posts her 5 year old child from a prior relationship.

According to IOB, Richardson reportedly claimed to be 7 months pregnant in Sept. 2017, so if her allegations are true, there are 1 of two options that could have occurred: (1) Adoption; or (2) Wood Harris is pulling a Drake move and paying Stoney a pretty penny to hide their alleged baby from the public. Same Acting Passion…Totally Different Musical Tastes

The brothers share the same passion for acting, but when it comes to acting, they’re on two different pages. During an appearance on Arsenio a couple years ago, Steve admitted that he loved old school R&B, like Peabo Bryson and such, while Wood said he was a 90’s hip hop head all day, everyday.
