Remember Apollonia from the group Apollonia 6 that starred in Purple Rain? She played Prince’s a.k.a. “The Kid’s” love interest in the movie, but she ultimately became the object of Prince’s and Morris Day’s characters’ jealousy and competition.

Is it just us, or is the first thing you think about when you think of Apollonia is Prince telling her she had to “Purify herself in Lake Minnetonka?” LOL.

If that one just went passed you, then you’ve got to go watch, or re-watch Purple Rain because you obviously missed one of the most memorable scenes in the movie.

Okay now here’s the thing, there are a few of us, over here at ILOSM, who were wondering why we haven’t seen Apollonia since her Purple Rain heyday, so like we always do, we did a lil’ diggin’ and this time around we came up with gold. Our girl Apollonia didn’t really fall off the face of the earth, after releasing a solo album in ’88, she’s still around and she still has her hands in the entertainment pot.
