(L) Aaron Hall; (inset photo) R. Kelly

Many of us old school R&B fans once believed Guy member, Aaron Hall, was the laid-back, romantic, R&B crooner type. However, ever since social media emerged, giving Aaron the opportunity to let his true light shine, we’ve learned otherwise.

Those beautiful love songs Aaron sang back in the day were just that — songs — and not exactly a complete representation of who Aaron, the man, is. He’s really one of the rawest and uncensored R&B cats out there, who cusses up a storm, and will tell it like it is, no matter who gets offended by it…which brings us to his thoughts on R.Kelly. And this time, it has nothing to do with Kelly’s recent conviction…apparently Aaron Hall wasn’t diggin’ Kelly long before that.

AARON HALL’S SHADE: “R. KELLY STOLE MY STYLE, BUT CAN’T TOUCH MY SWAG”

R. Kelly

Aaron Hall’s diss occurred during a now-deleted video interview with CarltonJordan.com, and it’s from a while back, but still very entertaining nonetheless. Why? Because while speaking on R.Kelly and other R&B dudes, let’s just say *in R. Kelly’s voice* Aaron Hall’s ‘mind was telling him noooooo, but his ego, his EGO was telling him YE-E-EEEES!’ Aaron ‘ain’t tryna hurt nobody, but there is something that he must CONFE-E-E-ESSSSS!‘ And that is, that R. Kelly jacked his entire style…at least, according to A. Hall he did.

Peep Aaron’s throwback excerpts below. He also threw shade at singer, Trey Songz; and singer/producer, The Dream, in true classic Aaron-Hall-fashion.

Aaron Hall: “I know a lot of people out there are saying that R. Kelly stole my style,” Hall said. “But remember he can’t touch my swagger. I got that old school swag, that ’80s swag, and ain’t nobody touching that.”

He continued:

“You should never get mad when someone copies your style, you should feel flattered because everyone knows where they got it from. Like [R.Kelly], he can’t get dropped off in the streets because the streets love me and they know a thief when they see one. Shout out to thieves because I love them.”

His thoughts on The Dream and Trey Songz at that time:

“…As far as music goes, he [The Dream] needs to lose some weight. He writes good songs, but he definitely needs to slim down and I hope he sees this. …

As far as Trey Songz…I’m glad he’s got R. Kelly by the headlock, copying his style, but the king of R&B, nobody can touch my vocals.”

Oop! And there ya’ have I Love Old School Music fam’…Aaron Hall said what he said. Granted, R. Kelly, nor Trey Songz and The Dream probably do not like Aaron Hall’s views of them…but we have a strong feeling that Aaron doesn’t quite give a damn.

And besides, when it comes to the “Bump ‘N Grind” crooner…he has much bigger issues on his hands at this time — like the 30-year prison bid he’s just began serving at MDC Brooklyn. Just sayin.’ 🤷🏾‍♂️

Geto Boys Rapper, Bushwick Bill

ILOSM fam,’ although the Geto boys rapper, Bushwick Bill, is no longer here with us, his legacy will continue to live on through one of the rap legend’s proudest creations – his son…whom looks so much like Bushwick, it’s almost scary.

Son’s Homage To Bushwick Bill…
As we previously reported, Bushwick Bill sadly passed away at age 52, on June, 9, 2019, following his hard fought battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Shortly after his passing, not only did Bushwick’s son share his Pops’ final words, he later shared the following tribute to the beloved icon:

“We were with you till the end …you don’t have too suffer no more pops. … Love you 4ever our last convos I’ll value till the day I’m with you.”

As we continue to celebrate the life of Bushwick Bill, what y’all are about to witness in his son, may make you wonder if your “mind is playing tricks” on you. Check him out below…

Meet Bushwick Bill’s Look-A-Like Rapper Son, Yung Knxw

Introducing Yung Knxw (YK), also known as Bushwick’s son! Nah, you’re not seeing double, you’re seeing the 26-year-old offspring of a rap legend, who’s following in his father’s footsteps.

Bushwick Bill’s son, Yung Knxw

As you can see, he looks like Bushwick spit him out. The main difference is their height. Bushwick made history as the first little person ever to become a multiplatinum selling rap artist.

Bushwick Bill with his son, YK [Pinterest]
Although Bushwick’s son, YK, doesn’t seem to technically be a little person, he is shorter than average, which in my opinion helps to make him stand out in an industry where artists are always searching for unique identity.

Bushwick Bill’s son, YK, with unnamed female [Twitter]
The other cool thing about Yung Knxw is that, most people have no clue he’s Bushwick’s son. Why? Because YK prides himself off the fact that he’s been grindin’ and building his career without leaning on his Father’s fame. He’s been releasing music for the past few years and is signed to the same record label as The Geto Boys, Rap-A-Lot Records…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-I3u4qgAVQ

Even though Yung Knxw doesn’t like to use his Dad’s name as a crutch, he still has major respect for the legacy Bushwick built and oftentimes pays homage to him online. They also performed together at times. How cool is that?!!

Unknown Facts About The Late Bushwick Bill

1. Scarface revealed that Bushwick Bill at just 21/22 years old, had an incredible business savvy. At that age, prior to becoming a rapper, he’d already owned a few successful car lots in their hometown of Houston, TX.

2. Willie D told Vlad TV that he was the one who came up with the idea to have Bushwick Bill in The Geto Boys, after their original group member, Jukebox, quit. Prior to that, Bushwick was just their homeie and occasional hype-man, with zero rap skills. When Willie D suggested to Scarface and Rap-A-Lot Records owner, J. Prince, that Bushwick join the group, he got laughed at because no one thought Bill was capable…until Willie D wrote his rhymes and Bushwick delivered them with precision…and history was birthed.

We will always love Bushwick Bill for being the true warrior and pioneer that he was. He was a brave brotha, who was never afraid to speak his mind. May he continue to rest in peace and power.

Oran Juice Jones

Oran Juice Jones is one of the coolest cats to have ever laid his stamp on the music game. Before Drake was ever able to merge the lanes between R&B and hip hop, there was Oran Juice Jones, who was the very first R&B artist signed to Def Jam Records back in the day when it wasn’t yet considered cool to blend singers with rappers. Now before we go any further, let’s just get the urge to recite a part of Jones’ classic 80’s joint out of the way…sing it with me now:

“I saw you [and him] walking in the rain, you were holding hands and I’ll never be the same…You know my first impulse was to run up on you, and do a Rambo…I was about to jam you and flat blast both of you. But I didn’t wanna mess up this thirty-seven hundred dollar lynx coat.”
Alright, now that our pimp moment is over, let’s get back to the topic at hand. Before Oran Juice became THE Oran Juice Jones that we all know- the Oran Juice who inspired artists like Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z- he had a completely different occupation. In fact, his job was so far to the left in comparison to who we know him to be now, that we would have never called it a million years! Let’s just say that nobody better not ever think about messing with him, or his people, because he is highly trained and knows how to take a person out.

Oran Juice Jones’ Job Before Music Career

Oran Juice Jones was ‘one of the few, the proud, the Marines’…BUT that’s not all though, Juice was actually a SNIPER OFFICER for the Marines from approximately 1981 to 1986. You know the guys who are always on the roof during a standoff; or when a President comes to town, they’re the ones on the rooftops of surrounding buildings, ready and willing to take anybody out who tries it?

Yeah, that’s what our man, Oran Juice Jones, was. Gotta admit that I would have guessed many other occupations for Juice, like maybe a head manager at a high end hotel, or the owner of a suit & tie company, but to picture him as one of these dudes…

Marine snipers [stock photo]
Nah, I think not.

In 1981 Oran Juice graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and get this, he even made history in his military career by becoming the second African American Brigade Commander in U.S. Naval Academy history. Well, that wasn’t quite making history because he wasn’t the first, but it was close enough, so we still salute the man for it.

Oran Juice Jones now

Once Oran Juice’s music career started bubbling in 1986 –after he signed to Def Jam’s subsidiary company, OBR Records– he’d just completed his term with the Marine Corp and then said ‘peace out,’ deciding to take his music career to the next level. And boy did he ever do that!

If it wasn’t for Juice bringing his swag to the game and talking major smack at the end of “Walking In The Rain” song, many of these music industry cats of  today, wouldn’t know how to act. So much respect to Oran Juice Jones for being one of the originators of the R&B and hip hop merger!

What’s Oran Juice up to nowadays you ask? When he’s not making a few special appearances to perform every now and then, he’s helping his daughter and son get their budding music careers poppin.’

(L) Eddie Murphy; (R) Martin Lawrence

Twenty-three years ago — when Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy co-starred in the 1999 film, Life — they probably never in a million years would’ve imagined that their kids would fall madly with each other decades later. But, welp…here we are, and thus far the union of Martin’s daughter, Jasmin Lawrence; and Eddie’s son, Eric Murphy, has been a beautiful thing to witness. So much so, that Martin is apparently already foreseeing the two jumpin’ the broom in the future…we’ll explain in a minute. Anywho…meet the happy couple below…

Meet The Happy Couple – Martin’s Daughter & Eddie’s Son

(L) Eddie Murphy with son, Eric Murphy; (R) Martin Lawrence with daughter, Jasmin Lawrence

Check out the happy couple, Jasmin Murphy (26) and Eric Murphy (33). These two lovebirds have gone public with their relationship within the past year or so, and are clearly head over hills for each other. That fact is evident in the lovey-dovey social media posts they share every now and then.

Jasmin Lawrence with boyfriend, Eric Murphy

They officially went public in 2021, although it flew under the radar. Eric kicked it off by sharing the photo above of himself with Jasmine, and he captioned his post with this:

Eric Murphy – “Head over heels in LOVE with YOU @jasmin_lawrence ❤️❤️❤️❤️ #myotherhalf #equallyyoked #iloveyou”

Jasmine soon followed her man’s lead, and a few weeks later she posted the photo below, along with this caption:

Jasmin Lawrence – “Happy birthday, my love! I’m so incredibly blessed to know you, to love you, and to have you by my side. Cheers to many more blessings, laughs, and beautiful memories! I love you so much!! 🖤✨”

Eric Murphy with girlfriend, Jasmin Lawrence

More recently, Eric went in with is love display for Jasmin, when he wrote this heartfelt birthday post on her 26th b-day recently:

“Happy Birthday, Beautiful! Thank you for being such a blessing in my life. I am so fortunate to experience your unconditional love. I pray that God blesses you abundantly as you enter your 26th year. You have made my life better than I ever thought it could be. You embody everything I ever prayed for in a significant other. Keep shining your bright light on the world. I am so incredibly proud of you. Thank you for being the best girlfriend of all time!”

How Do Martin And Eddie Feel About Their Kids Dating Each Other?

Although Martin and Eddie are mostly radio silent about their kids’ love-lives, Martin gave recently offered some insight into how they really feel about Jasmine and Eric’s union. While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live in July 2022, Martin confessed that he and Eddie “kinda just stay out of their [kids’] business” and “let them do their own thing, and respect their thing.”

Although Martin says he and Eddie have yet to discuss their kids’ union, they seem to be cool with it. He also jokingly said he’s gonna do away with tradition if their kids marry each other…confessing, “I’m gonna try to get Eddie to pay for it.”

Wedding Bells In Their Future? She Just Caught Sister’s Bouquet

It’s unclear if Eric will be puttin’ a ring on it anytime soon, but he’s apparently droppin’ clues that that is the direction they’re headed.

When Eddie’s other daughter, Bria Murphy (daughter of Nicole Murphy), recently got married (in July 2022), guess who caught the bouquet?

(L-R) Eddie Murphy’s daughter and son, Bria Murphy and Eric Murphy; Martin Lawrence’s daughter, Jasmin Lawrence; Bria’s husband, Michael Xavier

That’s right…Martin’s daughter, Jasmine, caught Bria’s bouquet…and Eric made sure to point that out in this celebratory post:

Eric Murphy – “I am overwhelmed with joy celebrating my sister Bria, and her husband Michael’s wedding. I am so extremely happy for you both! Yesterday was such a beautiful day!! Special shout out to Jas for catching the bouquet 💐👀😉❤️ Also, thank you all so much for all of the birthday wishes today. MUCH LOVE 💛🖤”

Don’t know about y’all, but from my viewpoint, all of the stars seem to be aligning for Jasmin Lawrence and Eric Murphy to take their relationship to the next level. Wishing them the best!

Keith Sweat

For years we’ve been singing along to Keith Sweat’s “Make It Last Forever,” and every time it came on the radio we everybody was like ‘Awww, that’s my song!’…but likely 80% of us who loved the song, have never ever seen the female singer with the powerful voice who was singing with Keith.

So after one of our ILOSM family members asked us about the female singer on that song, we decided to do some diggin’ like we always do and we came up with some interesting info about singer, Jacci McGhee.

Now we can finally put a face to the beautiful voice on a song that that will forever be etched in the hearts of us 80’s R&B music lovers. Meet the woman who KILLED IT on “Make It Last Forever”…

Jacci started out as a background singer for Keith until he decided to push her to the forefront on their classic, “Make It Last Forever” and the rest is history…

Throwback photo of “Make It Last Forever” singers, Jacci McGhee [c] and Keith Sweat [r]
Of the great times Jacci had while touring with Keith Sweat, Jacci shared this message:

“THROW BACK MEMORIES 0F SOME GREAT PERFORMANCES!!! WE HAD ONE OF THE DOPEST BANDS OUT! WE TORE ISH UP EVERYNIGHT THIS WAS A GREAT TIME IN MY LIFE🙏🏾🙌🏽🕊 #allpraisesdue #TheMostHigh #Yahshuahamashiach I LOVE U GUYS FOR MY GREAT MUSIC EXPERIENCE EVEN THROUGH THE BEGINNING WHEN WE WATCHED EVERYTHING BECOME A HIT!”

Jacci McGhee

Jacci also showed love to Keith Sweat for his birthday, with the caption:

“NO MATTER HOW MUCH WE FUSS YOUR STILL FAM!!!!! HAPPY BLESSED BIRTHDAY KEITH!!!💖💖💖💖🎂🍾🍸🍹🍾🍷🍸🍸🎂🍰 @keithsweat
#allpraisesdue #TheMostHigh #Yahshuahamashiach #faithfulness #faith #love #peace #joy #rnbsinger #rnbsoul”

Jacci is still putting her beautiful voice to good use. After the success of “Make It Last Forever,” the sexy 50-something-year-old songstress released a solo project of her own and then she went on to sing background for the rock group, Toto.

She also sang the hook for Salt N’ Pepa’s hit song, “Expression.” Nowadays she still singing and she is also a life coach, actress and self proclaimed “wig lover/wig stylist/cosmetology graduate/lover of glamour!”

Jacci McGhee, the singer who sang the duet, “Make It Last Forever,” with Keith Sweat

And if you think her vocals are rusty after all these years, think again. Check this out…

And there ya’ have it ILOSM fam’…another blast from the past that just reminded us of what it felt like to have classic jams to slow drag to. Old School is the TRUE school…bring back REAL music!

Moms Mabley

Moms Mabley was one of the most admired comedians to have ever graced the comedy world, although she doesn’t always get the proper recognition she deserves. She dominated a sport at a time when only males were playing it.

Her influence had an effect on everyone from Redd Foxx, to Richard Pryor, to Whoopi Goldberg…and even comedians of today’s era are influenced by her, even if they don’t realize it, because their favorite comedians looked up to other comedians, who looked up to her.

Moms Mabley’s comedy album

The thing that wasn’t widely talked about during Moms Mabley’s reign, is the amount of horror she experienced throughout her childhood. Only to run away from it and ultimately become a superstar, being chauffeured around in Rolls Royces, getting paid one of the highest salaries of any comedian of that era.

The Rape & Pregnancies

Moms Mabley was one of 16 children, and by the time she’d turned 11, her life tragically changed as a result of being raped by an older man. As if that wasn’t horrific enough, she was raped again at the age of 13 by the town’s sheriff. Both rapes resulted in two pregnancies…

After both of Moms Mabley’s babies were born, she gave them away to other families.

It didn’t stop there though, Mabley’s Dad was ultimately killed while he was a volunteer fireman after the engine of the fire truck he was on exploded. Soon after that, her Mother was run over by a truck and killed on Christmas day while she was returning home from church. After experiencing so much trauma, Moms Mabley made up her mind that she was going to make something great of herself, so she ran away at the age of 14 and did just that.

She soon landed a gig to star in a minstrel show and eventually worked her way up from there. Her birth name name was Loretta Aiken but she changed her name to Jackie Mabley, after her brother told her that she would disgrace their family’s name by being a female in show business. Go figure! The nickname, ‘Moms,’ was given to her by other comedians because she was like a mother figure to them in the entertainment world.

She Had More Kids & Adopted Others

Along the way, she had three children (one of them unfortunately had some problems with drug addiction) and she also adopted an unconfirmed number of children.

She Came Out As A Lesbian Woman & Faced Backlash

At the age of 27 she hit another groundbreaking moment when she officially came out and publicly made it known that she was a lesbian.

Moms Mabley

Now of course that didn’t stop Moms from playing the “old dirty lady” role in her stand up. Her classic line was: ”Ain’t nothin’ an old man can do for me but bring me a message from a young man.”

By the end of her life, Moms Mabley made her ancestors proud and her brother eat his words. We give her the utmost respect for her bravery. She accomplished the feat of making a name for herself in an era and an industry where all of the odds were stacked against her, that took guts. Maybe Moms believed that after all she’d endured as a kid, there wasn’t too much else this world could do to hurt her. Like we always say, from great disparity, great fearless beings are often born, Moms Mabley is an example of that. She used her pain as fuel to propel herself into the next stratosphere, we can do the same with our family unit, our careers, our relationships- it’s possible to move past the pain into greatness. Thank you Moms Mabley.

Michael Jackson and video model, Ola Ray, on set of “Thriller” video

We all remember when the beautiful Ola Ray, was dancing and giggling her way through Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” video. The former Playboy model became an overnight star on that fateful day in 1982. At that time, I -like many others- was crushin’ on Ola Ray something SERIOUS…as I also was on ‘Thelma’ from “Good Times,” but I digress. Anyways, it’s been about 40 years since most fans have laid eyes on Ms. Ray and a lot has changed. Although she’s still a beautiful woman at 61 years old, one thing is drastically different from the Ola Ray that we knew back in the day. What is it, you ask? Her complexion.

Lighter Shades Of Ola Ray

Ola Ray back in the day

In the 1980’s, Ola Ray had the melanin-rich, caramel complexion that she was born with. Fast forward to now and her new complexion is the topic among many. Why? Because it seems that her skin tone has gradually transformed in the same way that Michael Jackson’s did. In other words, her skin is surprisingly more of a melanin-less, flushed tone these days. That has some fans wondering if Ola Ray’s new hue is the result of excessive skin bleaching, or some other cause. Check out her recent pics below…

(L) Ola Ray more recent pic; (R) Ola Ray THEN

Not sure what the reason behind her melanin transformation is, but 40 years has brought about a change.

Old School Fun Facts About Ola Ray & MJ

1. Ola Ray was hand picked by Michael Jackson to be his video “girlfriend” and guess where he selected her from? The Playboy Magazine. He pointed to her…while he was looking through the magazine one day and asked his people to find her.

2. Ola Ray said MJ flirted with her a lot and that she was in love with him but never told him.

3. Ola Ray said she wakes up to Michael everyday:
“I have a huge poster of Michael, just of himself and then I have the 25th Anniversary album,” she said in the ABC News interview. “Then, I have a picture of us walking together in the video … I see Michael every morning when I wake up.”

Ola Ray now

4. Michael Jackson gave one of his Thriller Awards to Ola Ray. She said after he’d asked her to go to Germany and accept the award on his behalf, this is what happened next:

“He wanted to send someone else to come pick it up [from me], but I told him, ‘No. If you don’t come pick it up yourself, then you’re not going to get it,'” said Ray, who went on to land small roles in Beverly Hills Cop II, Gimme A Break! and Cheers. “He didn’t come get it, so he called and told me it was mine. I could keep it.”

5. Word on the Old School curb is that Ola Ray is now reportedly a stay-at-home mom with a beautiful adult daughter.

George Foreman

Boxing icon, George Foreman, is ready for another fight…except this one will be a legal battle against two women he says are attempting to extort him with lies and concocted claims from 40 years ago.

According to TMZ Sports, “a lawsuit against Foreman is expected to be filed in L.A. this week by two women whose fathers apparently had a friendship and working relationship with Foreman decades ago. The suit…is expected to allege that Foreman sexually abused the women in the 1970s.”

However, Foreman released a statement Wednesday (7/12/22), adamantly denying the women’s apparent upcoming claims. Here’s what he had to say:

George Forman – “Over the past six months, two women have been trying to extort millions of dollars each from me and my family. They are falsely claiming that I sexually abused them over 45 years ago in the 1970s.”

Foreman continued:

G.F. – “I adamantly and categorically deny these allegations. The pride I take in my reputation means as much to me as my sports accomplishments, and I will not be intimidated by baseless threats and lies.”

It’s also being reported that Foreman and his team say the upcoming claims are “a coordinated extortion plot” by two women who have been asking Foreman to pay them $12.5 million EACH, ever since January of this year (2022).

For the record, Foreman’s current net worth is reportedly $300 million. But he clearly is not trying to dish out approximately $24M’s over what he says are straight up bogus claims against him. That was evident in the following statement, where Foreman pretty much vows to fight this upcoming legal battle with everything in him:

G.F. – “I am, and always will be, guided by my faith and trust in God. I will work with my lawyers to fully and truthfully expose my accusers’ scheme and defend myself in court. I don’t pick fights, but I don’t run away from them either.”

So, in other words: Don’t start nothin’…won’t be nothin’, is basically what the boxing OG seems to be saying.

We’ll keep y’all posted on this as more info surfaces.

Tyler Perry

Highly acclaimed director/actor, Tyler Perry, opened up about the man who he says abused him to the point of no return when he was a child- his father…or so the man he thought was his father, Emmitt Perry Sr., but we’ll get to that in second.

Many of Tyler Perry’s fans probably already have heard him tell the horrific stories of his childhood while growing up in New Orleans, LA. Although he had a loving mother, aunt, and grandmother, he’s revealed that he was abused in many ways by other adults around him. He was reportedly sexually assaulted repeatedly by a male relative (not his father); sexually assaulted by his female adult neighbor; and on a daily basis he says he was severely physically and emotionally abused by his dad, whom he says used to beat him for any given reason and sometimes for apparently no reason at all.

Tyler Perry’s father, Emmitt Perry Sr.back in the day

In his interview on Oprah’s Masterclass, Tyler revealed something that shocked the hell outta us and everyone else watching- that for one, he found out at the age of 40– soon after his beloved mother, Willie Maxine Perry’s death — that his daddy ain’t his biological daddy and (2) the biggest shocker of it all is that Tyler says he still takes care of his abusive dad to this day.

“From a child I’d always known that this man despised me,” Tyler said in reference to his father. However, he also explained why he chooses to give his former abuser the good life these days:

“Yes, I still take care of the man I thought was my father, absolutely, because number one, my mother asked me to because she loved him. And secondly, as terrible as he was and as horrible as he was, he never once left us, we were never hungry and every time he’d go to work, all week, he’d bring all the money home. So in return, I’m giving him what he gave to me. I had shelter, I had food. He has shelter…pretty NICE shelter…and any food that he wants to eat. But also, what I missed from him -being a relationship- is also what he misses from me now. So he doesn’t have EVERYTHING, he has what’s easy.”

Tyler Perry’s dad, Emmitt Perry Sr. now

Okay, now that Tyler Perry put it that way, I can kinda see where he’s coming from. I must admit though, that the brotha is a very honorable dude because there are plenty of folks who’d just be like “to hell with” his daddy after what he put Tyler through.

Watch Tyler Perry Discuss His Abusive Father

Check out what else Tyler Perry said about the abusive times with his dada in the video below…

Random fun fact: Tyler Perry was born Emmitt Perry, Jr. but changed his name as an adult, to distance himself as much as he possibly could from his father, Perry Sr.

Vivica Fox

Vivica A. Fox is an accomplished American actress, producer, and television host. The 56 year-old actress was once featured on Oprah Winfrey’s show, Oprah: Where Are They Now?, where she revealed her biggest regret.

As an actress, Vivica A. Fox has taken on may roles in her acting career. She’s played an assassin, bank robber, and a stripper in Independence Day. However, out of all the roles that Vivica has played, there’s one role that she regrets not playing and that’s the role of motherhood. Despite the fact that Vivica has great relationships with children as she is an aunt and godmother, she regrets not having children of her own. Upon seeing fellow actress, Halle Berry, with her children, Vivica longed to have her own babies.

In an open and honest conversation with Oprah, the two legends discussed how Fox’s life has changed since her early days of success and what she has learned about herself over the years, both professionally and personally. Fox, was once married to singer Christopher ” Sixx-Nine” Harvest from 1998 to 2002 and dated rapper 50 Cent. There were rumors that her marriage with Harvest dissolved due to cheating and Fox vowed that she would never marry again. Vivica surprised many when she shared with the world that out of all the men she has dated and fallen for, 50 Cent was the ‘love of her life.’ Sadly, none of those relationships resulted in children.

Known for liking younger men, Vivica was once engaged to Atlanta club promoter, Omar ‘Slim’ White. During their engagement, the couple began to work on having children as Vivica’s biological clock was ticking. However, their relationship didn’t last long and the two eventually parted ways.

Oprah Winfrey interviewing Vivica Fox

After discussing the ups and downs of Vivica’s public life, Oprah steered the conversation towards motherhood.

“Do you ever miss being a mother?” Oprah asks Fox in the video below.

Oprah was shocked by Vivica’s admission when she revealed that not being a mother was her biggest regret.

“Of course,” she says. “That’s the biggest regret of my life, that I didn’t have a child. Oprah appears surprised by hearing this. I didn’t expect that answer,” she tells Fox.

In speaking with Oprah, Fox shared an eye-opening experience that led her to realize the beauty of motherhood. She was once on the red-carpet with Halle Berry. Seeing Halle with her daughter touched Vivica’s heart and at that moment, she had a revelation.

“I’ll never forget seeing Halle on the red carpet at the Essence [Black Women in Hollywood] Luncheon. She just had [her daughter] Nahla, and I said, ‘Wow she so beautiful.’ She said, ‘Vivica, if I knew then what I know now, I would’ve had five of them,’” Fox recalls. “She said, ‘The joy I see in her eyes is just like no other high that I’ve ever experienced.’”

It’s an experience Fox now says she wishes she could have felt for herself.

“I don’t get to see my eyes in a child,” she says. “I think that’s something I’ll miss.”
