If y’all have caught any of our prior coverage regarding John Singleton’s mom, Sheila Ward (pictured above in blue dress), then you already know that she’s been known to be at the center of several family disputes at the present moment. This time around, is just another occurrence.

After she saw what Tosha had to say about the BET Awards tribute to Singleton, Mama Sheila spoke out to TMZ about the matter. In a nutshell, she is not ridin’ with Tosha’s sentiment whatsoever, and wants to make it very clear that Tosha does not speak for the entire Singleton…or at least, not for her:

Singleton’s mom, Shelia Ward, tells TMZ … Tosha Lewis — mother of John’s 25-year-old son, Maasai — griping BET did John dirty by spending a lot more time honoring rapper Nipsey Hussle is strictly her opinion.

Shelia says Tosha doesn’t speak for the family, and the fam doesn’t share Lewis’ feelings at all.

Tosha also pointed out that unlike Nipsey’s family (as seen above), John Singleton’s family didn’t get a family invite to attend the BET Awards show in his honor. From the looks of it, she may be right about that, because Singleton’s eldest child- daughter, Justice Singleton- was seemingly the only one who received an invitation…unless any of his other 7 kids received one and opted not to go.

Though Tosha has a point, the sad reality still remans- that we lost two beautiful souls in John Singleton and Nipsey Hussle, who worked immensely to help build their people people up and share the messages of their communities. Both men hail from Los Angeles, California and now, that city has lost a piece of it’s soul, when it lost John and Nipsey. May they continue to rest in power, after a job well done here on earth.
