We have some heartbreaking news today, ILOSM family. Marian Robinson, the beloved mother of Michelle Obama, has passed away at the age of 86. The former First Lady herself shared the news on social media, expressing the deep loss and pain that her family is feeling at this time. In Michelle’s words, Marian was her rock, always there for her whenever she needed support.

Mrs. Obama started with this profound statement about her mother:

“My mom Marian Robinson was my rock, always there for whatever I needed. She was the same steady backstop for our entire family, and we are heartbroken to share she passed away today.”

Marian was not just a mother to Michelle; she was a pillar of strength for the entire Obama family. Her spirit and wisdom were cherished by all who knew her. Barack Obama, Michelle’s iconic husband and the 44th President of the United States, recognized the vital role Marian played in their lives, especially during their time in the White House.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez got engaged earlier this month and announced the news with a post on Instagram showing off the massive rock.

“She said yes,” Rodriguez said in a post showing JLo’s hand, now bearing a huge engagement ring. Whereas JLo simply posted several hearts to accompany the announcement.

The “Jenny From The Block” singer recently opened up about her engagement to the former Yankees player to People magazine, telling the publication the couple has “an appreciation for where we are in our lives today.”

“And that’s what we’re enjoying the most,” she added.

Her name is Virginia McLaurin. You might remember her from a particular 2016 meet and greet with President Barack and First Lady Michelle at the White House. Profoundly, their meeting impacts McLaurin’s life to this day.

According to WJLA-7, Virginia clearly recalls her moment with the former First Family. The source quotes her as follows.

“I met a black president and a black wife. That’s me. I was so scared because I was raised in the South. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t think I would ever, ever be able to get in the White House.”

Reportedly, McLaurin was 106 at the time of her White House visit. But, she will forever remember it.

ILOSM family here’s a quick confession, before we get into the greatness that is our forever president, Barack Obama: I agreed to partake in a personal challenge to not have one negative thought about our current political structure for one week straight. Needless to say, that with the current state of the political game, I was failing miserably at that challenge. Thankfully, former Pres. Obama has just come through with some major positivity, which has helped my prior desperate attempt to remain distracted from the stupidity in politics and instead remain strictly politically positive for the coming days.

True, Obama is no longer in office, but seeing as how he’s continuing to make such a positive impact on the world, I’ll take it. That brings me to the beautiful act of kindness he’s just displayed for the good people of his second hometown- Chicago, Illinois.

Obama’s currently making headlines for volunteering his time at a Chicago food bank, The Food Depository, which is providing Thanksgiving meals and ingredients for families who are not as fortunate to afford them this Thanksgiving season. Obama showed up rockin’ his baseball cap, jeans, and jacket…ready to work, serve, and alongside the volunteers on Tuesday, November 20th.

The Food Depository tweeted this message and video after Obama’s visit:

This was really cool to witness. The joy on the volunteers and kids’ faces were priceless. This further shows that we are one, just like Frankie Beverly and Maze sang back in the day. Despite any political nonsense currently going on in our society, regardless of class, titles, bank statements, religions, etc.- we must look out for our fellow human being.

So hopefully, this Thanksgiving we’ll all be as fortunate as Obama was, to be able to pass on one act of kindness to another person- no matter how small, or large, said act may be. It’s the thought that matters most. Happy Thanksgiving ILOSM family!

According to BBC, former First Lady Obama told ABC, “I felt like I failed because I didn’t know how common miscarriages were, because we don’t talk about them.”

“We sit in our own pain, thinking that somehow we’re broken… It’s important to talk to young mothers about the fact that miscarriages happen.”

Reportedly, something dawned on Michelle Obama. IVF — in vitro fertilization — was going to have to be the ultimate choice. The source says, at age 34, Mrs. Obama understood — first hand — that “the biological clock is real.” Furthermore, she realized her egg production was surely limited.

BBC reports Michelle telling ABC‘s Robin Roberts the following statement regarding the situation.

“I think it’s the worst thing that we do to each other as women, not share the truth about our bodies and how they work.”

Mrs. Obama’s book also mentions she had to administer IVF shots herself, due to her husband’s ultra-busy schedule. The Obamas actually experienced real trouble in their relationship once Barack joined the state legislature.

Unfortunately, as aforementioned, Michelle’s miscarriage happened nearly 20 years ago — leaving a lasting affect and effect on her for years to come.

Likewise, according to the source, Sasha and Malia were both IVF conceptions.

MRS. OBAMA’S MARRIAGE COUNSELING WORKED FOR THE BEST

As stated in the beginning of this article, it’s important that — when going through trials in your relationship — you keep it all to yourself. That’s why the public had no idea at all that Michelle Obama and her family were going through it at times.

There were times when communications weren’t the best within the household.

“Marriage counseling for us was one of those ways where we learned how to talk out our differences,” Mrs. Obama mentions.

“I know too many young couples who struggle and think that somehow there’s something wrong with them. And I want them to know that Michelle and Barack Obama, who have a phenomenal marriage and who love each other, we work on our marriage. And we get help with our marriage when we need it.”

WATCH Barack & Michelle Dance & Surprise Fans At Concert

Welp folks, lo and behold, Michelle done dragged her hubby to the show, for one of Beyonce’s and Jay Z’s ‘On The Run II’ tour stops and it was epic. Unlike before, when Michelle sat alongside the stage in clear eyesight of the crowd, they didn’t take that risk with her husband, understandably so. Secret Service was probably like ‘Hell to the naw,’ when it came time for Barack to get his side stage view. Therefore, the Obamas were treated to a sky high view in the very secluded and enclosed VIP suite of the stadium instead.

For most of the show, fans had absolutely no clue that the Obamas were hoisted over their heads, enjoying the show. But at some point, the attention was brought to them and when fans turned around and looked up to see Barack smiling, dancing, and waiving back at them, the crowd went WILD! Fans were shocked as hell to notice Mrs. Obama, her two daughters -Malia and Sasha- and Malia’s boyfriend, casually stroll up to their VIP seats incognito. Well, if you call being escorted by plain clothed Secret Service agents ‘incognito,’ then yeah, that’s about as ‘incognito’ as it’ll ever get for them. Anyways, the former first fam’ linked up with Tina Lawson right next to the stage and apparently, one of their favorite songs is “Upgrade,” because as soon as it came on, Michelle and Tina started gettin’ hype.

Michelle Obama Says She Will NOT Run For President

While we’re on the topic of our ‘forever First Lady,’ Mrs. Obama was recently interviewed by actress, Tracee Ellis Ross (Diana’s daughter), at the United States Of Women Summit. During that time, she put the stamp on why she will not ever run for president and she broke it down in the realest way possible:

“Well, that’s a whole other story because, that’s not the answer either. And when I hear people say, ‘You run,’ it’s part of the problem. We still didn’t get ‘Yes, we can’ right,” Michelle Obama said. “It’s not ‘Yes, you can,’ it’s ‘Yes, we can.’ And until we get that right, it doesn’t matter who runs.” […] Change starts close to home. So looking for the next person to run … I don’t mean to cut that off, but that’s been our distraction,” she said. “‘We’re going to wait for the next person to save us.’ We thought it was going to be Barack Obama, but he didn’t end racism.”

Ah well, if you were hoping the Harvard educated, high powered attorney would be giving us a reason to be happy about who’s in the White House again, Mrs. Obama just crushed that dream.

On a side note, Michelle Obama ain’t the only one in the Obama house who loves music. Two things we know for sure about the beloved, Prince: (1) He treated his artistic craft with the utmost integrity; and (2) He was all about collecting his paper for his craft. The latter was proven by the newly uncovered offers he received from the likes of actors, Will Smith and wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, plus many more celebs with hella deep pockets.

Ever since the Carver County Attorney’s Office released all of the previously sealed files in the now closed criminal investigation into Prince’s death a few months ago,, all sorts of details have surfaced. One such gem of info, included the official monetary offer that Will and Jada sent to the iconic Purple One, for a rare performance at a private party in Los Angeles, Ca.. It was supposedly a 100-person party scheduled for September 17, 2015, which ironically coincides with Jada’s September 18th birthday. Sounds like some overly expensive, high society lifestyle event that only wealthy folks, like the Smith’s, can pull off, right? Well, turns out that’s exactly what they did when they offered Prince…wait for it…a whopping $400,000.00 to do so!

Dayumn! Talk about a brotha who was about collectin’ his bread! Prince most definitely was THAT guy and we’re not mad at that one bit.

It’s unclear if the super private $400K shindig actually happened, but what is certain is that in paperwork found at Prince’s Paisley Park home, the Smith’s offer was officially sent to Prince and his team for his approval.

Prince Was Gettin’ $$ From MANY CELEBS…Not Just The Smiths

Jada and Will aren’t the only ones who were willing to pay big bucks for Prince to grace them with his presence. Apparently, this was a regular thing for the “Purple Rain” legend. There were several other offers consistently sent to Prince. One was a $1.25MILLION offer for Prince to perform at a 2,000-person private event for an investment firm in Hong Kong, which was scheduled just five days after the Smiths,’ on September 22, 2015. Another was from the White House for an undisclosed event and non-specified amount of money. The dates shown for the secret White House event coincided with the Obamas’ reported private White House party on June 13, 2015, in which both Prince and Stevie Wonder performed for 500 guests on the low.

The Blast also pointed out that Prince was stackin’ major coins just for one gig:

An email printout from Prince’s 2011 tour shows that the Grammy winner could bring in millions for just one show. The Hop Farm Festival in Kent, England paid Prince $2,000,000 to play a 24-song set that included three encores for a crowd of 30,000 people.

Wow! Those sacrifices and years of dedication paid off for Prince, that’s for sure. However, he is sorely missed by fans, as well as his fellow celebrity friends, including Will and Jada…

Will Smith Mourns Prince

At the time of Prince’s death on April 21, 2016, Will Smith took to Facebook to express his sadness and revealed that he’d just spoken with him the day before he passed:

“I am stunned and heartbroken. I just spoke with him last night. Today, Jada & I mourn with all of you the loss of a beautiful poet, a true inspiration, and one of the most magnificent artists to ever grace this earth.”

The royal fam’ has been cool with America’s first African American ‘first family’ ever since Obama stepped into the oval office in 2009. They’ve continued their friendships, even after the President had to pass the torch and future fate of America’s existence to uh…the man who is currently in office now, but I digress.

Anywho, although Prince Harry and Pres. Obama have a cool relationship, that didn’t stop Harry from being more nervous than a prostitute in Sunday worship service, when it came time for him to officially interview Obama for his podcast on BBC Radio 4’s “Today.” The other day, Harry -who has been in the public’s eye since birth- was surprisingly a lil’ frazzled in the presence of Obama. That’s understandable though, based on the fact that Obama accomplished an uphill battle that his African ancestors would be proud of and many people of today would not have believed in a million years- if they did not see it with their own eyes.

Prince Harry, being a wise cat beyond his years, was not out of touch with that magnificent reality and his nervousness only proved the great deal of respect he has for Pres. Obama. It also proved that although he may be royalty, he’s humble enough to recognize when he’s in the presence of greatness.

Noticing Harry’s nervousness, Obama tried to ease Harry’s worries, by crackin’ a couple jokes. Obama even jokingly asked Harry if he’d rather be interviewed by him for the show instead. Harry immediately said “No, no”…LOL. The joking helped, because Harry was able to crack one back on Obama, telling him that if he took too long speaking in his signature in-depth slower paced manner, he’d have to give him “the look.” Check out their behind-the-scenes outtake of the interview above.

Overall, it was actually pretty cool to see Harry get a lil flustered by the ever-so-calm Pres. Obama, because it also showed that Harry is what many have described him as- a down to earth dude, who does not view his ‘royal status’ as an automatic sense of entitlement, nor privilege. Now we can see why his new fiancee/actress, Meghan Markle, is diggin’ him.

ILOSM family, an unfortunate situation has just been revealed about Malia Obama’s recent Lollapalooza attendance. As we previously reported, Former First Lady Michelle and President Barack Obama’s 19 year old daughter, Malia, was having a blast at the 2017 Lollapalooza Fest in Chicago the other day. We loved that she was letting her hair down and living life.

Unfortunately, at some point, things must have taken a terrible turn for the worse. A short, shocking video clip has just surfaced, of Malia being carted off of the Lalapalooza premises in a security golf cart, looking completely dazed and out of it.

At first glance, it looked like maybe there was a medical problem with Malia, but after a slow-mo version was shown, it simply seems like she may have had too much to drink. This is all speculation of course and there has been no official announcement of exactly what was wrong with Malia that night. Here’s the thing family: One day, Malia will look back on this embarrassing moment and be able to file it under the ‘Young, dumb, and free’ chapter of her life. That is by no means a diss to Malia, nor the Obamas, because the fact of the matter is that 99.9% of all of us reading this right now, know good n’ well we ALL had that same chapter in our own lives.

Therefore, not to sound too cliche’-ish, but before we go judging the intelligent and thoughtful young lady the Obama’s have raised Malia to be, let’s first dig into our own 19-20-something year old past and remind ourselves of our many regretful mishaps…just saying. Anywho, best wishes to Malia…she’ll probably be a trending topic across social media for the next few days because of her new video…but this too shall pass.
