The Braxton family has gone through some excruciatingly tough times throughout the past year. They’ve lost several loved ones, with the most recent being the Braxton siblings’ niece, Lauren “Lolo” Braxton, who passed away on April 29, 2019.

Now, Trina Braxton is speaking out about how her family’s doing after Lolo’s passing, and she also revealed what she has discovered following her niece’s tragic death.

“The family’s holding up as well as can be, you know. There was the passing of Gabe (Trina’s ex-husband), and then there was the passing of my aunt -my dad’s sister- and then there was the passing of my brother’s daughter, Lauren.

You know, it’s really crazy because our family’s been truly blessed, because it’s never hit our home before…never [hit] our brothers, our sisters, our parents, but it’s still family…it’s been very trying.”

Here’s what Trina has now learned:

“When you lean on each other, that’s when you know that…time is too short to do stupid crazy mess. When a family experiences a loss, grief is imminent.

And at the end of the day, when you wake up and you think about the people that you have contention with -your friends, your family, it doesn’t matter who they are -as long as you have breathe in your body, there’s still time to make amends. There really is, because life is too short to hold onto grudges and to hold on to things that just don’t really matter, because you wake up and you just wonder, ‘What was I fighting about in the first place?’ And…none of that matters anymore.”

Trina also has revealed that her beliefs are helping her to cope with her grief:

“I like to use the acronym, END- Energy Never Dies. So, when someone passes away, they’re still with us…forever.”

Body Dysphoria:

On Saturday, June 30, Tamar took to Instagram with an interesting post where she opened up about her bout with body dysphoria. The “Love & War” singer admitted that the problem actually began years ago when a music executive criticized her about her weight complaining that she wasn’t thin enough. The lengthy post included a throwback photo of the singer and a detailed recount of that disheartening experience. She shared the backstory about the old photo and how she felt about her appearance.

Tamar wrote, “There is nothing like going to your parents’ house and finding old 1996 horrible pictures of yourself!! Can you believe I thought I was fat??!?(I’d sure like to be that size now Lord) this was back in the day when I shot the “So Many Ways” video with my then skinner sisters @trinabraxton1 @itowandabraxton It’s so funny how you see yourself then, and how it parallels to now. (confession).

Although the picture is several years old, Tamar admitted body dysphoria is still something she struggles with today. “I still struggle with body dysmorphia to this day all because a record executive told me I was too fat at 11 to be more of a “commercial “ artist.. only to end up having big R&B hits today!!! which was fine with me cause that’s how I saw myself then in the first place)…

On Braxton Family Values:

Despite the struggles and opposition Tamar has faced in the grueling music industry, she and her sisters managed to make it out on top. In fact, she revealed Braxton Family Values was welcomed with heightened skepticism from fans simply because many people thought they’d be competing with Love & Hip Hop. “The same thing goes for me and my sisters,” Tamar said.  “We started having major over the top family issues because some network wanted to compete with old love and hip-hop numbers, And felt that our family was to ‘perfect’ and unrelatable. ( That’s another story)…But only to realize that our problems are just like everyone else’s.. and this black family is fine the way we are!!!! & I must mention we must be like somebody’s family cause our ‘boring’ family has the longest running black family reality show ever in history.”

Like Tamar said, we all know, Braxton Family Values has always had its own lane.

Advice to Fans:

Tamar went on to offer a bit of advice and encouragement to her fans who may be faced with similar struggles. “I say all that to say people will try to turn you into whatever they want you to be for their benefit! When are you going to be who you truly are for your own benefit? We put ourselves through hell to be however someone else see’s us..how about if you are going to work at something, work on you for you and have the faith that GOD made you this way on purpose! Because really what other’s see is your greatness and want to trick you into thinking otherwise to use you!!” She added, “This is why having Esteem of yourself is so important!!”

Braxton Family Boycott:

The latest news about Tamar Braxton follows a string of reports that have definitely caught the attention of Braxton Family Values fans. But for those who missed all the drama, last week the ladies announced their intent to boycott their own show. As a result, the hit reality series has been put on hold. Right now, the future of the reality show remains unclear.

It seems that every last one of the Braxton sisters and also their mother, are fed up with their own reality show, “Braxton Family Values.” It’s not that they aren’t enjoying the success of the show, it’s more-so that they have a serious problem with what’s goin’ down behind the scenes.

Word on the Old School curb is that Trina, Tamar, Towanda, Traci, and Tamar Braxton, and Mama Evelyn are currently out of a gig, after the move they just pulled with WeTV, the network that airs their reality show.

According to what has been reported, all of the siblings were scheduled to tape upcoming episodes in Atlanta last week. However, the only Braxton sis’ who showed up was Traci. Seeing as how it’s pretty tough to film a Braxtons TV show with just one Braxton, the crew had to shut down production and go home.

The Braxtons are reportedly boycotting their show because they’re demanding that WeTV and Magical Elves production company cut far bigger checks to them. It’s being reported that the final straw for the ladies, was when their wardrobe and travel stipends for season 6, were far lower than average. They also reportedly want to be paid ‘appropriately’ for their worth.

WeTV has now canceled the show indefinitely, as a result of the Braxtons refusing to film the second half of season 6 until they’re paid more. The Braxtons are currently under contract through season 9 though, so this may possibly result in a legal issue soon, if nothing gets resolved.

Overall, this season of filming has been shrouded in controversy. In particular, much of the talk has been about the drama behind the scenes with Tamar Braxton vs. her siblings and mother, over her estranged husband, Vince Herbert.

Traci Surprised By Grandbaby News

In a recent interview on “Sister Circle,” Traci revealed that she was hella shocked when she found out that her son had gotten his girlfriend pregnant:

“Chiiile, let me tell you the tea. My kids ain’t tell me until November [that], they were pregnant and I wanted to punch him, I really did. … You know, that’s MY child, I discipline him.”

Baby Shower Details

But obviously, soon-to-be ‘Grandma Traci,’ has moved passed her initial anger and shock, because based on Kevin Jr.’s baby shower photos, she’s happy as hell about her grandbaby now. She posted a photo of her and the fam’ having a collective prayer over the expecting mother, with a caption that read:

“[Kevin Jr.] made me a duchess and I’m ecstatic because now my parents, my sisters, and my brother…my grand-baby is making them a first generation of a great grandchild. […] My sisters and I…when we were younger, we said if we ever have kids, and our kids have kids, our names would be duchess. That’s royalty, thats what they call the Queens when they have grandkids. So, I’m royalty.”

Domestic Abuse Claims & Arrest…

Some of the issues that may arise on the new season of Braxton Family Values are the domestic violence reports. On several occasions, cops were called for ‘domestic disputes’ between Tamar and Vince. The latest was when the Vince was arrested for “spousal assault” on Christmas day (2017), following a reported altercation with Tamar at their home.

In November 2017, Mama Braxton angrily detailed, on the talk show, “Sister Circle,” a separate incident, in which she says she witnessed Vince deliver physical abuse to her daughter. She claimed that she was actually inside the house, with Tamar and Vince, during one of his alleged abusive episodes. Mama Braxton recalled hearing a sound in the house that seemed as if “the elevator was falling.” She claims she saw Tamar running from Vince. At the time, she had her grandson in the room with her but she stepped out of the room momentarily to confront Vince. That’s when she claims he went off on her:

“I ran back to the room because the baby was in the bed with me,” she added. “I was very much afraid for the baby. I put a chair behind the door. I barricaded myself in the room, and held that baby all night long. That’s no way, no way, for anyone to live.”

Evelyn Braxton also went off about Vince, in a TMZ interview, where she angrily stated, “I don’t really have anything to say to Vince, only one thing: Keep his HANDS off of my child!” She had a lot more to say in the video below…

Vincent has denied ALL allegations against him. Tamar has not addressed the recent physical abuse allegations publicly. Only time will tell if any of this makes the cut for next season of “Braxton Family Values.”

Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Nene Leakes must have been having a bad day, or a fan touched a nerve on a topic that is really personal to her. Nene was never afraid to speak her mind, as many RHOA fans have witnessed on the reality show. That’s why it came as no surprise when she took to Instagram to check one her fans over a comment they left on her page.

What happened was that Nene posted a photo of herself and fellow RHOA cast mate, Cynthia Bailey, living it up at Todd Tucker’s (RHOA member/Xscape singer, Kandi Burruss,’ husband) birthday party. In the pic (shown above), Nene sported a new look, rockin’ a new blonde lace wig high bun hairdo and all. That is when a fan compared her current look to singer, Tamar Braxton, a.k.a. Toni’s lil’ sis.

Nene’s Clapback To Fan Over Tamar Comparison

The fan told Nene, “Wow, Nene I thought you were Tamar.”

Nene apparently took that as a diss of some sort, or at least a dose of shade. So she then cursed out the fan: “Nothing abt me looks like Nene so cut the bullsh*t out! U just wanna be saying something but U ain’t saying sh*t dumb a$$!”

Well dayumn! Not sure why that Tamar comparison hit a nerve, but clearly it did for Nene. On the flip side, Nene has caught some flack lately over her nose job and other allegations of skin complexion altering. The only thing Nene confirmed is that she did have a nose job…all other rumors have never been proven. So based on that, maybe the fan was trying to throw shade, by alluding that Nene is somehow trying to copy off of Tamar’s style and look. If that was the case, then Nene’s clap-back was understandable, but if not, then she probably went a tad-bit too far with her assumption.

At any rate, Nene’s message is clear, in the words of her RHOA cast mate, Kenya Moore, ‘Don’t come for her unless she twirls for you.’
