It’s been since March of this year (20222), that we’ve all last heard a peep out of Will Smith, who’s typically known for his positive, upbeat personality. However, this time…the man is clearly emotional, somber, and remorseful. Will has resurfaced in an emotional video message to his fans, which he shared online Friday morning.

In his video message he admits that he is “deeply remorseful” for slapping the bejeezus outta Chris Rock at Oscars 2022 a few months back.

Will’s video first starts off with words on the screen that read, “It’s been a minute. Over the last few months, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and personal work…,” the statement continued. “You asked a lot of fair questions that I wanted to take some time to answer.”

He can then be heard sighing, before stepping onto the screen to address why he did not apologize directly to Chris Rock shortly after slapping, as Will was accepting his ‘best actor’ award for his “King Richard Role.”

“I was fogged out by that point,” Smith confessed. “It’s all fuzzy. I’ve reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he’s not ready to talk and when he is, he will reach out. So I will say to you Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you are ready to talk.”

Will then went on to apologize to Chris’s mother and brother/comedic actor, Tony Rock — whom Will had a great friendship with. Though, he has now admitted that his friendship with Tony is likely a done dada:

“We had a great relationship,” Smith says. “Tony Rock was my man and this is probably irreparable.”

FYI: Tony Rock and Will go way back… Tony starred on the Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith produced 2007 sitcom, “All of Us.”

As y’all already know, Chris and Will go far back as well…except their relationship has been filled with crazy tension throughout the years. Chris had reportedly said some foul things about Will and Jada in the past; and Jada once seemingly stirred up beef with Chris in the past (i.e. the time Jada called out Chris Rock for hosting the Oscar Awards a few years ago, when #OscarsSoWhite was trending on social media, over the organization’s lack of inclusion).

Will also addressed the question of whether Jada — who suufers from alopecia — asked him to do something after Chris cracked his “G.I. Jane” joke about her shaved head at the Oscars. Will said that she did not.

Will confessed that he’s “spent the last three months replaying and understanding the nuance and the complexities of what happened in that moment. … I’m not going to try to unpack all of that right now, but I can say to all of you, there is no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave in that moment,” he says. “There’s no part of me that thinks that is the optimal way to handle a feeling of disrespect or insults.”

Smith then ended his video with a very transparent and profound message:

“Disappointing people is my central trauma,” he says.” I hate when I let people down so it hurts.” And to his supporters, Will stated “to putting light and love and joy into the world. … If you hang on I promise we’ll be able to be friends again,” he concluded.

Listen, we’re all human, and most of us have at least one moment in our lives where we’ve looked back on it and realized, ‘Damn…I shouldn’t have done that…it was stupid.’ Only difference is we didn’t have millions of eyes watching us screw up in real time. Therefore, I commend Will for being man enough to publicly acknowledge that moment for him, that is not easy. And I most definitely commend Chris Rock for being man enough to maintain his composure in that now-infamous Oscars-slap-moment.

Hopefully, in the future (hopefully the near future), we’ll see Will and Chris unite to work on a project together or something…now THAT would be one of the biggest moments in Hollywood…hands down.

Meet Chris Rock’s latest alleged love, actress Lake Bell.

Now, if you’re like me, the you may not be too familiar with her work…but apparently, she’s kinda like a big deal in Hollywood. How do we know this? Because lately, the two of them have been spotted out and about, with Lake’s fans fanning over her before they even paid attention to the man by her side — Chris Rock.

Anywho, over here…Chris is a big deal. So we couldn’t help but notice that he’s been chillin’ with his new reported love for a while now.

In the past few weeks they’ve been spotted together several times by fans. Their most recent outing was for a seemingly romantic stroll on a Santa Monica beach the other day…

According to TMZ, “the comedian and the actress were in great spirits walking past Shutter On The Beach while calmly taking in the beautiful ocean views. Although there wasn’t any kissing or hand-holding, our sources noted there was almost no room in between their bodies as they moved along the path.” But there were other sitings of these two…

Then there was this recent outing to a Cardinals game in St. Louis, where they tried to keep their attendance on the low…but that didn’t necessarily work out for them. Check out the video below…

As far as Chris’s last known public relationship…Chris(59) and his previous long-term girlfriend — 39-year-old actress, Megalyn Echikunwoke — said ‘peace out’ to each other in 2020.

And from what we hear, Lake Bell is fresh off a long-term relationship as well, following her divorce from a celebrity tattoo artist, Scott Campbell.

Not sure how serious Chris and Lake’s situation is, but hey…if they’re happy together, we wish them all the best. And besides, it gives us something else to associate Chris Rock’s name with at this time…other than ‘the slap’…just sayin.’ 🤷🏾‍♂️

Shortly after Malaak filed for divorce, Chris Rock publicly confessed that he hated not waking up and seeing his kids at his home everyday:

Chris Rock- “You know, some days are better than others, some days you’re sad outta your fu*king mind. But my daughters are good, and I’m only an hour away. Two houses close by. It’s good.”

Chris Rock also confessed that he screwed up his 20 year marriage by cheating with three different women (2 celebrities and 1 non-celeb):

C.R.- “I wasn’t a good husband a lot of the times. I was a piece of sh*t. … I brought this sh*t on myself. Nobody told me to go ho up. … It’s my fault, because I’m a f**king a**hole. I didn’t listen. I wasn’t kind. I had an attitude. I thought, ‘I pay for everything, I can do what I want.’ That sh*t don’t fu*king work! I just thought I was the sh*t.”

Thankfully, Chris and Malaak have peacefully moved on. And besides, pretty sure divorcing a multimillionaire without a pre-nup, had it’s financial perks to help ease Malaak’s pain. She’s out here livin’ her best life nowadays. Do your thing Malaak.

In a new interview with Gayle King, Jim referred to Will Smith as “selfish” for delivering that slap to Chris Rock during the Oscars. He also referred to everyone who gave Will a round of applause during his ‘Best Actor’ acceptance speech (just moments after Will slapped Chris Rock) as “spineless.” But that’s not all, Jim thinks Chris should hit Will with a fat lawsuit…wait ’til y’all see how much. Check out the video and excerpts of his interview below.

When Gayle King asked Jim Carrey what he was thinking as he watched the slap-gate situation unfold on live television, he stated:

“I was sickened by the standing ovation [when Will later won the Academy Award for ‘Best Actor’]. I felt like Hollywood is just spineless en masse. It really felt like, ‘Oh, this is a really clear indication that we’re not the cool club anymore.”

Chris Rock refused to press charges against Will for slapping him. Jim Carrey said Will “should’ve been” arrested, and he explained what he would have done if he were in Chris Rock’s shoes:

“He [Chris Rock] doesn’t want the hassle. I’d have announced this morning that I was suing Will for $200 million, because that video is gonna be there forever, it’s gonna be ubiquitous. That insult is gonna last a very long time.”

Here’s what Jim thinks Will should have done instead, after Chris Rock insulted wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith’s, shaved head:

“If you wanna yell from the audience and disapprove, or say something on Twitter, or whatever [that’s fine]. …You do not have the right to walk up on stage and smack somebody in the face because they said words.”

Gayle agreed that although she felt Will should not have slapped Chris, she also pointed out that she realized it had “escalated to that level”…to which Jim snapped back:

“It didn’t escalate. It came out of nowhere because Will had something inside him that’s frustrated, and I…wish him the best. I really do…I don’t have anything against Will Smith. He’s done great things, but that was not a good moment.”

Jim went on to say that Will’s smack “cast appall over everybody’s shining moment” at the Oscars, because all of the actors/actresses “worked really hard to get to that place, and to have their moment in the sun” overshadowed by Will’s actions was uncalled for, he says. Jim further summed it up by saying, “it was just a selfish moment that cast appall over the whole thing.”

As we previously reported, the day after the Oscar’s Will Smith publicly apologized to Chris Rock.

However, Chris has not yet spoken publicly on the matter. By the way, there was a fake online apology circulating around the internet following the fiasco, which was said to be from Chris Rock, but his team shut that down with the quickness, by confirming that it did NOT come from Chris Rock nor his team.

Anywho, enough about the actual smack…here’s what Will had to say during his Instagram apology to Chris and others:

“Violence in all of it’s forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much to bear and I reacted emotionally.

I would like to publicly apologize to you Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”

Although Will apologized to the Academy Awards and everyone else, except Chris Rock, just moments after slapping Chris, he re-apologized once again for his actions:

“I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams family and my King Richard family. I deeply regret that my behavior has deeply stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us. I am a work in progress. Sincerely, Will”

By the way, there is a fake apology floating around online claiming to be from Chris Rock. Rock’s team has reportedly confirmed that the ‘Rock apology’ did not come from Chris…it is false.

Starting out in showbiz is rarely ever easy. Michael Ealy starkly remembers, as a newbie, what it was like to work with Chris Rock at his peak. “He was just an a**hole.”

According to Ealy, he started his career in New York. He was waiting tables and bombed an audition for Bad Company, a movie with Chris Rock and Anthony Hopkins.

However, in an interview with Chicago Tribune, Michael Ealy mentions that — although he didn’t get the auditioned-for role — the movie director liked his vibe and wrote a part specifically for him.

And it placed Michael right alongside Chris, as his “best friend.” Yet, Rock’s attitude toward Ealy would prove to be completely, ironically the contrary, explained Ealy.

“Everything went well…But Chris Rock was a little cold. He was probably at the height of his career at this point and I idolized him — I had watched all his stuff and thought he was so funny and I really respected him — but he was just kind of indifferent to me.”

According to Michael Ealy, the part the director included wasn’t a huge role.

“It wasn’t much, it was a bit part, but I was very grateful,” Michael elaborates in the interview. “The movie was shooting in New York and Chris Rock played a street hustler — like, he’s that guy who’s doing three-card monte in the park — and I played one of his best friends. I’m a young actor and I’m thrilled because this is my first movie.”

“We had to do some reshoots for the end of the movie so they asked me to come back a couple months later — I’m still waiting tables, so I take a day off from that — and we’re doing this wedding scene between Chris and Kerry and I’m the best man. So we’re about to shoot this scene, I’m in my tux, I come on set and Chris and Kerry are standing there and Joel is telling me where to stand. And right before he says action, Chris looks over at me and he says: ‘Oh (pause). Still in the business, huh?'”

“And when he said that, it was like a Mike Tyson left hook,” Ealy mentions. “And I knew he wasn’t joking around. I think maybe he was trying to disguise it as playful teasing, but it was a dig. For whatever reason, it was a dig: ‘You still in the business, huh?’”

“Some people don’t get it when I tell this story, but to say that to me was beyond disrespectful — to the point where Kerry was like (laughs), ‘Chris, no,’” Michael Ealy continues. “I still love Kerry to this day because she was like, ‘What’s wrong with you? That was just wrong.’”

“He had an entourage of people and they were very nice to me, but he was just an a**hole. You never know what somebody’s going through. Wherever he was in that point in his life, he probably wasn’t very happy.”

Of course, that experience stuck with Ealy for years. Resultantly, he held a serious grudge against Rock, though having admired him.

Nevertheless, they crossed paths again…

In some years later at the Golden Globes, Michael was nominated for Sleeper Cell. According to Ealy, he ran into Chris on the way to the bathroom.

“And you know what he said? ‘I love your work and I apologize for what I said,’” Michael recalls. That’s when he said he went into tears.

“He somehow remembered what he said to me and that it was wrong — and he owned up to it and apologized and told me he loved my work and he was a fan,” the actor recounts.

“That’s when the crying happened [laughs]! For him to acknowledge it was huge — it meant everything to me. And he’s kind of a dope person because of that. I forgive easy, but can you imagine if he hadn’t remembered that we had worked together on a movie before? That would have been the second punch, right?”

According to Rock- who divorced his wife in 2016- his encounter with Rihanna happened sometime after he’d cracked a joke about not being “invited” to Rihanna’s “panties” during his 2016 Oscar’s monologue.

“After my divorce was final, I was at a party and I saw Rihanna,” Rock said during his “Tamborine” stand-up. “I was like, ‘OK, let’s start this again. Let me say what’s up,’ right? … And I’m like, ‘How you doing, Rihanna?’”

This is where it gets comical, because Rock revealed that Rihanna made him feel old as dirt. After having been divorced from his wife of 20 years, Malaak Compton (51), for about a year now, he’s righting his wrongs by coming clean about the role he played in their demise.

In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Rock invited a journalist to one of his current comedy shows, which he is dubbing ‘The alimony tour’ as a chuckle at all of the money he says he’s now dishing out for his divorce lawyers, his ex-wife’s divorce lawyers, her alimony payments, and just about everyone else who was in the court room during their proceedings.

He revealed few facts about how he screwed up their marriage, the difficulty of now having joint custody of their two teen daughters, how his wife decided it was time to part ways, and why she hates him now. Check out the very candid excerpts below:

On His Cheating With Celebs & Everyday Women:

Rock admitted to cheating on Malaak with three women- two were celebrities and one was a non-celeb.

Via RS: He segues into his infidelities and gets disarmingly specific, describing three women: one famous, one semifamous, and one a member of the retail class.”I wasn’t a good husband a lot of the times. I was a piece of sh*t.”

On thinking His Fame & Fortune Allowed Him To Get Away With Cheating on His Wife:

“That’s bullsh*t,” he admitted. “That actually goes the other way. My faults are magnified. Your significant other, if they really love you, has a high opinion of you. And you let them down.”

On How Tough Marriage Is:

“Marriage is so tough, Nelson Mandela got divorced. … He got out of jail after 27 years of torture, spent six months with his wife and said, ‘I can’t take this sh*t no more.'”

On A Woman Needing Him vs. Loving Him:

“Need is big. A woman breaks up with you, the first thing she says is ‘I don’t need this shit.’ She doesn’t say, ‘I don’t love you,’ she says she doesn’t need you.”

On Ex-Wife Now Hating Him:

“If someone wants 52 percent custody, you know they want to kill you.”

The Difficulties Of Him Staying Faithful While Famous:

“Men, it’s a lot easier to be faithful when no one wants to f*ck you.”

On Trying To Keep Peace & Respect His Ex-Wife:

Rock admits that he has toned down the marriage part to keep the peace and not be a d*ck. “It’s not fair,” he says. “I have a mic, she doesn’t. God forbid people are bugging her in the supermarket. That’s not cool. I’m going to have to see her at weddings and graduations.”

On The Difficulties Of Adjusting To Single Life Again:

“I never had one,” says Rock. “Getting divorced, you have to f*cking start over. You get to reset. It’s not a breakdown, but something in your life broke down.”

Today both Rock and his ex-wife, Malaak have moved on, although it does sound like Chris still would love being with his wife, understandably so, he messed it up, and they have a lot of history together. But on the flip side, he also seems happy with his current girlfriend/actress, 37 year old Megalyn Echikunwoke.
