BRYAN ABRAMS SHOCKED MANY WITH HIS 2014 COURT APPEARANCE

On the right, in the above pics, was Bryan Adams in 2014 when he had to appear in court for one of his several domestic violence charges. At first many were still trying to process their initial shock at the former sex symbol’s appearance as well as his health. He was walking on a walker and his attorney stated that he’d just had hip surgery, but photographers outside the courtroom also stated they’d seen Bryan close the walker and run up the stairs after his court appearance.

Anyways, according to online reports, Bryan was in court in 2014 for allegedly punching his wife, Kimberly, in the face. And NewsOne reported this: ‘[Bryan Adams] has been charged with domestic abuse four times since June of 2006. Twice, the case against Abrams was dismissed. In 2007, he pleaded guilty to beating his wife and was placed on probation for two years. Back in December 2005, Abrams was arrested for drunken driving and plead guilty to that charge.’

So yeah, Bryan has been pretty busy, BUT he has since made a turn-around…

Bryan Adams wrote on Instagram,”As alcoholics/addicts, we live in the shadow of guilt and shame; this pain perpetuates the cycle of dangerous substance use. Having a healthy support system is everything to a person struggling. Dave [Bryan’s now-deceased mentor] was this support system for me and, oftentimes, for my wife Kim, who also struggled with the effects from my alcoholism.”

Below, he showed that he enjoys a lil’ pool time every now and then.

In recent years, Bryan and his group members began touring together again. Not sure if they’re currently doing so in the ‘pandemic era…but hopefully Color Me Badd fans will get to go to a concert in the near future.

He also is very open about the decades-long struggle he had with alcoholism. He’s a recovered alcoholic who appears to be a work in progress, based on the info he’s shared about his continued sobriety journey:

She’s currently performing on stage on and off Broadway and has been getting rave reviews.

Sam Watters is a successful songwriter and music producer. Sam co-wrote several of Color Me Badd’s hits, such as “I Wanna Sex You Up”, “I Adore Mi Amor”, and “All 4 Love”. He is also a part of the production/songwriting team, The Runaways. they have worked with many artists, including Rico Love, Keke Palmer and others.

‘Bryan Needs Help’

According to Mark Calderon, Bryan Abrams needs some serious help with his addiction. Simply put, Mark says Bryan was full of that juice, when he charged at him on stage and knocked him down. In an interview with The Blast, Mark revealed that Bryan was already ‘heavily intoxicated’ before the show even jumped off. As soon as the show started, he’d noticed that Bryan was slurring his words and forgetting some of them during the performance of their first song of the night, “All This Love.”

Mark says by song #2, Bryan just exited the stage and left him out there to perform on his own, looking crazy and totally unprofessional.

Not sure if Bryan Abrams went backstage to take a few extra sips of whatever he was chuggin’ back to make him become even more irrational, but apparently Bryan had a David Ruffin “Temptations” movie moment. Here’s what Mark Calderon says happened next:

Via TB: We’re told that when Abrams came back onstage and shoved Calderon to the ground, he allegedly screamed, “I’m motherf*cking Color Me Badd!”

The exact trigger for the shove is unclear to Calderon, but he’s chalking it up to the singer’s alcohol abuse. Calderon says Abrams’ drinking during shows has been an ongoing issue, and tells us his longtime bandmate needs to get help by checking himself into treatment if he wants to continue a professional relationship. Calderon stresses that he’s “all about the music,” and wants to continue performing along with the group’s two backup dancers, but says Abrams’ issues with alcohol have become a serious issue.

After going to the hospital, Calderon says he’s feeling fine aside from some whiplash from the unexpected fall. We’re told Abrams and Calderon have not spoken since the arrest last night. The status of their scheduled show this weekend in Indiana is currently unclear.

One other thing we learned from Mark’s interview, is that the other two original members, Sam Watters and Kevin Thornton, were not performing with Mark and Bryan that night. Prior to now, it was believed those were the two other performers on stage with them during the fiasco, but Mark revealed those were their two backup dancers. It was just in 2016, that the group reportedly reunited like Peaches N’ Herb. So it’s not clear why the other members have now jumped shipped, but if Bryan’s destructive behavior has been occurring, then it’s not farfetched to assume he could have a lil’ somethin’ to do with it. But again, we still don’t know that to be fact.

In case you missed the details of what transpired the other night, here’s a quick breakdown: Mark and dancers were dancing on stage…Bryan storms onstage, shoves Mark to the ground. Crowd (and Mark) stunned by the fiasco…the show abruptly ends. Mark ends up in the hospital. Bryan ends up handcuffed and jailed for assault (where he reportedly still is), with a mugshot that has shocked the hell outta many Color Me Badd fans. Bryan, get it together bruh!

Why He Was Arrested

What had happened was, during their performance at del Lago Casino in Tyre, New York, three of the four Color Me Badd singers were singing their hearts out for their fans and having a good ol’ time. However, someone was suddenly noticeably missing- their falsetto singing lead, Bryan Abrams. Then toward the end of their song, Bryan reappeared on stage, walking right up to his group member, Mark Calderon, and attacked him. It was all caught on camera, check it out below:

Via TMZ: An eyewitness tells TMZ Abrams, the lead singer in the group was having a bad night with his voice. He eventually walked off stage he was so frustrated. Calderon hit some sound equipment on his way to the floor, and was hurt. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for neck and back pain. As for Abrams, he was arrested for misdemeanor assault, taken to jail where he was booked. His bail was set at $2,000. We don’t know if he’s posted bail yet.

Needless to say, fans were been stunned by the transformation they’ve witnessed about the prior sex symbol. As we previously reported, the stress that the group faced after their popularity began to fade years ago, took a huge toll on Bryan and drastically affected his health and physical appearance.

Bryan also started having run-ins with the law around 2006 and they continued consistently for the next few years, but many were very shocked when he walked into a court room, in 2014, looking very different from the sex symbol he once was…

By 2016, Color Me Badd announced they were touring again and Bryan was right there front and center, singing in his falsetto tone. Okay ILOSM fam’ you spoke and we listened. After our first article on the Caucasian soul singers from back in the day, you all had so many more that you wanted us to add to the list that we had to do a part 2. These singers had a whole lot of folks fooled. When we first heard them on the radio, you couldn’t tell us we weren’t listening to a brotha (or sista) singing, BUT we eventually found out we were wrong and that the soul singers we were bobbin’ our heads to were our brothas/sistas from another Mother. These are more examples that soul music doesn’t have color, it simply has soul.
