Back in June, Dash sued Daniels accusing him of breach of contract involving the Richard Pryor biopic they had both planned to work on. He claimed that a 2015 agreement made it clear that he would get a co-executive producing credit on the Pryor project, and also 5% of the profits that Daniels would eventually earn on the back end.

Dash said Daniels did not make an effort to fulfill his obligations and had been kept in the dark about the details of production and the progress of the film. He felt the alleged lack of communication and compliance on Daniels part fit the bill for a breach of contract.

On November 26, Dash filed court documents in New York revealing that he and Daniels have reached an agreement to discontinue all claims with prejudice, meaning the lawsuit cannot be refiled in the future. Dash settled his $5 million dollar lawsuit (The Blast).

According to documents obtained by The Blast, Daniels explains that a settlement was reached with Dash in November 2018 over the $5 million lawsuit but now Dash’s ex-wife Rachel Roy and child’s mother Cindy Morales have both served him with subpoenas to find out how much exactly the settlement with Dash is, and claiming they are both owed money in child support from the music producer.

Daniels is pleading with the court to help him figure out who the money should go to and says he needs it figured out fast as his next payment is due today, April 5.

Dame Dash had to put Lee Daniels on front street, after Lee has repeatedly dodged the brotha over the $5million he never repaid Dash for a multimillion dollar loan, plus a ‘promised’ 5% on backend profits for a Richard Pryor biopic that Lee is/was reportedly producing. Dash is livid for having to sue Lee TWICE throughout a 4 year span for the money he still has not received.

It was only after Damon Dash posted video of their recent Diana Ross concert confrontation on social media, that Lee finally responded, which is pretty foul when you think about it. Why didn’t he just pay up BEFORE it reached that point? Anyways, now Lee Daniels is speaking out and is very apologetic for what he did to Dash. Here’s what he had to say in a TMZ interview…
When asked how he felt when Dame Dash confronted him at Diana Ross’ concert and posted it on social media, Daniels said:

“Well, I was uncomfortable, it was a very uncomfortable thing. And here’s the thing, it made me think. I thought…he was hurt…and it made me think, because…when NOBODY in Hollywood was giving me money after my Academy Award- unprecedented with Halle Berry (for “Monster’s Ball”)…Damon’s crazy a$$ was crazy enough to give me money for ‘The Woodsmen’ and for ‘Shadow Boxer,'” Lee jokingly said about Dash. He continued, “The investment for ‘Shadow Boxer,’ didn’t pay off. It was an investment (not a loan) but I looked him in the eyes and I told him that ‘you would get your investment back.’

This Black man gave me money when NOBODY -not Disney, not Sony, not Tri-Star, not Paramount, not Warner Brothers- [would] for a film and he did it. And for that, he deserves his money. And so I’m gonna work out something for him to get it, because I am in a position now to get it to him. So I’m gonna get it to him, ’cause I think that, that’s the right thing to do. And it sadly took that wake up call, during Diana’s ‘Reach Out And Touch Somebody’s Hand,’ for me to realize that and for me to sit with myself. He believed in me when nobody else did and for THAT, he deserves it.”

Lee continued:

“I don’t know that I’d be successful, if it weren’t for him [Dash] …So…I really had to get quiet with myself to think that…if it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have…went on to make “The Butler,” and/or “Precious,” and/or “Empire.” He was part of my journey and for me to turn y back on that, was wrong.”

Dame Dash sometimes gets labeled as a hot head, but clearly in this situation, he was not. For years, he held his composure and went about it the legal way…until it became evident that Lee was not gonna hold up his end of the agreement. THEN Dash exploded, as most folks would when owed millions by someone who has no intention on paying it back.

It’s good to see that Lee Daniels was big enough to confess his wrongs to the world…social media backlash works wonders, I tell ya. Now, let’s see if he will ever speak on comedian/”Precious” Oscar winner actress, Mo’Nique’s, claims against him….hmmm.

Damon Dash revealed that he’s apparently been trying to get Lee Daniels to pay back a $2 million loan he gave him in 2014. There have been several disputes between the two over the loan, plus another lucrative agreement they had. Their latest dispute has now provoked Dash to not only file a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Lee, but to also publicly put him on blast.

In a new Instagram post, Dash shared video footage from the time he confronted Daniels at music legend, Diana Ross,’ event recently. He also included a pissed off caption with his video and tagged Lee Daniels (who goes by the Instagram name, @originalbigdaddy) in it, to make SURE the brotha got the message loud and clear:

“I straight up loaned this dude Lee Daniels @theoriginalbigdaddy 2 million to pay for his dream of being a director…it was the money I was using to fund my movies and stay Indy…he promised I get my money back in months…then he makes Precious and goes missing so he doesn’t have to pay me…then then Butler…Empire…same sh*t … Why does this dude feel like he doesn’t have to pay me?…why do I have to look crazy to get my money back…or go to court…ask @theoriginalbigdaddy why he doesn’t feel like he has to pay me even though he has it…what type of shit is this.. #paywhatyouowe”

And of course, being the always hustlin’ businessman that he is, Damon Dash took the opportunity to promote his other ventures. He told fans that all of the details of his confrontation with Lee Daniels will be posted on IG TV and he reminded everyone that his 2017 book, “Culture Vultures” (which is what he called Daniels), is in stores and online now:

“I’m going to put this whole thing on my ig tv in a few… true definition of a culture vulture @culturevultures_book …eats off the culture but Robs the culture at the same time… see you back in court Lee your gonna pay me what you owe…please everyone ask him [why] he doesn’t think he has to pay me…”

According to TMZ, ‘The Roc-A-Fella mogul claims Daniels promised to try to get him on as an EP [executive producer] for a Richard Pryor biopic … along with 5 percent on Daniels’ backend profits. According to the docs, Daniels bailed on the project … and didn’t deliver on his promises to Dame. Dash is suing for $5 million.’

This is Dash’s second lawsuit against Lee Daniels. The first one was in 2014, when he reportedly sued him for the $2 million loan. The two then reached a settlement agreement in 2015. Dash says Lee did not honor that agreement, which is why he’s just filed his latest $5million lawsuit against Daniels.

Whatever is going on with the money issue they’re having, we know one thing, Lee Daniels will never hear the end of it, until he hashes this thing out with Dame. Like we said, Dash is known to speak his mind at all times…and put his rivals on blast in the process…especially when millions of dollars are reportedly at stake.

Former Rock-A-Fella Records mogul, Damon Dash (46) and his big cuz,’ Stacey Dash (50), may not necessarily look alike, but Dame’s youngest daughter looks like Stacey’s little mini-me. As we all know, actress, Stacy Dash, has gone from Black America’s ‘princess’ in the 80’s and 90’s, to one of the most disliked ‘sell-outs’ on the planet. Although many of us (including Damon Dash) can’t stand her Trump loving, self-hating political/social antics in recent years, that doesn’t negate the fact that Stacey’s still an attractive woman on the outside. It’s just her inside that is questionable, but I digress…

As it pertains to Damon’s and his ex-wife, Rachel Roy’s, adorable daughter, Tallulah (9), though, it is Stacey’s outward beauty that will be the focus of the similarities between she and her little cousin.

We came across a photo that Damon Dash posted online of his daughter a few months ago and at first glance, we couldn’t help but notice how much she takes after Stacey.

Neither Rachel, nor Damon, have blonde-ish colored hair and hazel eyes. But those signature features of Stacey’s were clearly inherited by Tallulah as well. Her caramel complexion is another trait she has in common with her cuz.

Damon couldn’t be more proud of his baby girl and he’s always been a very hands-on daddy to all three of his kids- Damon Dash II (26), Ava Dash (18), and Tallulah Dash.

Since it is public knowledge that Dame does not agree with Stacey’s controversial political and social views, pretty sure he’s teaching his daughter to be the opposite of his big cuz. Hopefully as Tallulah grows up and eventually becomes a woman, her dad’s teachings will ensure that the only things she takes after her cousin, Stacey Dash, are her looks- not her beliefs, political/social views, values, nothing- just her inherited looks.

Word on the Old School curb is that she’s also taken legal action to block the movie from seeing the light of day. Although it was widely reported that Damon has disowned Stacey, due to her harsh views about African Americans and such, they’re still blood relatives, so they should be able to reach an amicable agreement without causing further tension amongst their fam.’

Stacy Dash, in turn, previously revealed that Damon had apparently disowned her, ever since she’s allowed her twisted opinions and views as a [now fired] Fox commentator to be revealed to the masses.

Although the Dash cousins do not see eye to eye on most topics, Damon is still a businessman. Therefore, he recently decided to reportedly ink a deal to get his film, Honor Up, released. It features Damon Dash; rapper, Beanie Siegel; and of course, Stacey Dash. But now that Damon posted a flyer, on Instagram, to inform his fans about the movie, Stacey has a major problem with it.

You see, it seems that the movie was shot years ago, before Stacy Dash had publicly came out to the world as a straight up sell out. So at that time, she didn’t necessarily mind being associated with a Black film. However, now that she’s an avid Trump supporter, Ms. Dash no longer wants to be involved with such ‘Blackness’ that Damon’s movie will provide, I suppose.

Ms. Dash has now reportedly filed a lawsuit to block her cousin from releasing his movie, Honor Up…as long as it has her likeness in it. Here’s what she had to say about Damon Dash:

Not sure why Damon still even wants to include Stacey Dash in his project, after the reputation she’s built. But on the flip side, I think Stacey needs to be happy that somebody wants to do something with her brand. Hell…the Fox Network turned their backs on her and most other respectable brands run for the hills at the first mention of her name…just saying.

The former unofficial fiancee of Aaliyah, Damon Dash, spoke out in what was a rare showing of emotion for him (we say ‘unofficial fiancee’ because they weren’t officially engaged but Dame said they had marriage plans scheduled after Aaliyah would have finished filming “Matrix).

Typically Dame is more of a brash type of cat in interviews, but his appearance on “The Real” was anything but that. He spoke about the love of his life, the beloved Aaliyah, and revealed how he could have saved her life. He also revealed that Aaliyah had expressed some hesitation to him about flying in the small plane that she was ultimately killed in during the 2001 plane crash that claimed her life and everyone on board.
