During the now-viral episode of “Club Shay Shay,” Katt Williams didn’t hold back when discussing the lack of crossover success experienced by fellow comedian, Gary Owen. Katt likened Gary’s situation to not joining the Illuminati, poking fun at rapper, Ludacris, for allegedly affiliating with the ‘secret society.’ But now, Gary Owen has his own stories to share about the situations that go down behind the scenes, and he agrees with much of what Katt is saying…especially the parts about Steve Harvey and Rickey Williams (although he and Rickey are cool now).

According to Gary, one of his attempts to break into the mainstream was through a partnership with none other than Steve Harvey — whom Gary described as having a “stand-off-ish” type of personality.. Gary thought he and Steve would team up and conquer the entertainment world, but instead, he found himself hidden backstage doing voiceovers for Steve’s talk show. This is the same show that Katt Williams had previously criticized Steve Harvey for losing to Kelly Clarkson.

Gary Owen opened up about how working with Steve was affecting his stand-up career and ultimately hurting his pockets. Due to the tight schedule and commitments with Steve’s show, Gary was missing out on other stand-up gigs that could have been more financially rewarding. It became clear to Gary that this partnership wasn’t working out when he scored a gig on the popular show “Hip Hop Squares” hosted by Deray Davis. Gary revealed that he made four times more money doing just three episodes of “Hip Hop Squares” than he did in two weeks with Steve Harvey.

Katt Williams didn’t stop at Gary Owen; he also had some choice words for comedian Rickey Smiley. Gary backed up Katt’s claims, recalling his own encounters with Rickey on the set of the movie “Friday After Next.” According to Gary, Rickey had a cold attitude towards him back in the day. However, Gary says Rickey has changed over and became more approachable and friendly over the years.

By the way, although Katt dogged the hell outta Cedric the Entertainer in that same “Club Shay Shay” interview, Gary says he will never say anything bad about Ced.’ According to Gary, Cedric is ‘one of the nicest people on the planet’ and is the polar opposite from Steve Harvey, when it comes to being down to earth and friendly with everyone he comes across.

But the challenges for Gary don’t end there. He hinted at being a victim of the #MeToo movement, suggesting that a Hollywood executive had inappropriate behavior towards him. However, Gary made it clear that he never compromised his integrity to achieve success in the entertainment industry.

It’s unfortunate to hear that someone as talented as Gary Owen and others faced these difficulties on their journeys to success. This just serves as a reminder that the road to success ain’t always easy, but staying true to oneself is essential.

After Katt Williams unleashed a firestorm of jabs at several comedians and other celebrities in his recent interview with Shannon Sharpe, everybody and their mommas have come out to speak their mind. This go ’round, even rap legend-turned-movie mogul, Ice Cube, is stating his piece.

As we previously reported, Katt Williams name-dropped everyone from Steve Harvey, to Kevin Hart, Cedric the Entertainer, to Rickey Smiley, and more. In terms of the latter, Rickey, Katt called him out for speaking ‘untruths’ about the “Money Mike” role that Katt played in the Friday After Next film.

Now, Ice Cube has spoken out to both confirm many the things Katt said in the interview about his role, while also ‘clarifying’ a couple other statements Katt made.

Ice Cube started off by noting that Friday After Next was shot over 20 years ago, so he understands that “people have different perspectives” so many years later. He then made it clear that he thinks all of the comedians Katt went at in his interview, as well as Katt, are all “funny as hell,” stating that’s why he chose to work with them on his projects.

“Katt was 100 on a few things — on most of what he was saying — [but] a couple of the other thing… I just wanna clarify,” Cube said.

He continued:

“When we bring in [a] new comedian we do have them try out for different roles. So, Rickey did give [the “Money Mike” role] a shot. … but when we saw him and we kinda saw how he moved [when] auditioning we decided that he’d be better [as] “Santa Claus,” which to me was perfect casting.

Cube then explained how Katt got the “Money Mike” role and cleared up Katt’s claims about ‘writing’ all the lines’ for the role. “When I saw [Katt]…I just knew he was perfect for ‘Money Mike.’ … The role was written but he enhanced it. That’s why Katt was so dope in the movie.”

“Money Mike” had a small role, Cube said, stating that Katt’s role was originally the same size as Rickey’s role. However, Katt expanded his role with his comedic contributions to the lines:

“When we started filming [Katt] was giving it such magic that we kept expanding his role, giving him more to do because he was on point. … When we shoot the script …once we get what we need from the script, we let the comedians adlib, riff,play with the words, do their thing. Ya know, we give them a take, or two where they can go off or do what they feel. … Sometimes it makes the movie, sometimes it don’t. [But] When somebody gives you jewels you wanna try to make sure it makes the movie.”

Ice Cube continued:

“Katt wrote a lot of his parts …because he was coming off the dome, he was coming prepared everyday to steal the show. Ya know, that was his mission. … And it launched his career…and I’m proud of the movie. I’m proud of all the guys who’ve come through Cube Vision production and went on to do bigger and better things.”

As far as any ‘Friday’ actors who complained about the low wages they were paid for the role — the same folks that Katt Williams also slammed for the same reason, in defense of Ice Cube — Cube pretty much sided with Katt on that.

Ice Cube also went on to clarify the “Money Mike” vs. ‘ex-con’ (Terry Crews’ character) r@pe scene that Katt stated he’d requested be taken out of the script. Check out what else Cube had to say about this in the clips up top.

In You Missed It…

Katt Williams also claimed the original Friday After Next script involved a r@pe scene, and that he didn’t think the attack would be amusing, so he asked for it to be removed. He went on to comment that if they were able to do the movie without a Black man being raped in it, he promised that it would be twice as funny.

Katt Williams has been out here cuttin’ UP in these social media streets. In a recent interview on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Katt Williams, was droppin’ shade on a plethora of comics and other celebs he disapproves of, including Cedric the Entertainer, Kevin Hart, Steve Harvey, Rickey Smiley, and more.

On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, Williams let Sharpe know that he had an issue with the untruths that “low-brow comedians” had previously spoken about him on Sharpe’s show, and he referred to Cedric, Harvey, and Smiley as a “group.” He noted that the trio had been together for three decades, and each of them knew the others’ secrets. “It’s the age of truth,” he said, “and these guys aren’t just three strangers.”

Katt Slammed Cedric The Entertainer For ‘Stealing’ His Joke

Katt Williams stated that his best joke from 1998, which he was performing on “ComicView,” was then stolen by Cedric the Entertainer, who watched him in the audience and then came backstage to compliment him on it. Two years later, Cedric employed the same joke as his closing one on “The (Original) Kings Of Comedy,” without any alterations, according to Katt.

At first, Katt says he overlooked Cedric’s joke as an imitation, but reconsidered that notion after Cedric denied it was taken from Katt’s work:

“He thought I was a minor comedian and that he could use the joke and not get caught,” Katt Williams argued.

Cedric the Entertainer Responds

In the comments section of an Instagram post that featured a clip from the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Cedric the Entertainer commented on the allegation from Williams, labeling it “revisionist history.”

Ced’  said  that Katt’s view was irrelevant, because Cedric has now starred in more than 40 movies, put on specials, and had his own brand. He also made reference to “Katt in the Hat”, which was held at the Gibson Amphitheater.

When asked why he included that contractual term in Rickey’s contracts, Katt claimed that actors, like Rickey Smiley and Tyler Perry, both excel at playing female characters, but they are not convincing as men.

A few years later, Smiley and Williams starred together in the release of “First Sunday” in 2008. Katt declared that Rickey Smiley’s next movie was ‘First Sunday” Rickey was wearing a dress, which Katt claims was required by his contract.

Katt Williams Slammed Steve Harvey For ‘Copying Mark Curry’s Sitcom’

Katt Williams then went at Steve Harvey, who acted as a high school music instructor in the 1996 sitcom, “The Steve Harvey Show.” According to Katt, Steve jacked the idea of his sitcom from comedian, Mark Curry. Curry played teacher, “Mark Cooper,” in the sitcom “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper,” which was first broadcast in 1992:

“The same Steve that went to go watch Mark Curry do his whole sitcom and then stole everything Mark Curry had,” Williams said. “Now Steve got a sitcom where he’s the principal and he wears a suit.”

Williams mocked Harvey’s acting abilities, mocking Steve’s prior statement that he ‘had no wish to pursue a career in the movies’:

“You couldn’t be a movie star,” Williams said. “There are 30,000 new scripts in Hollywood every year. Not one of them asked for a country bumpkin Black dude that can’t talk good … and look like Mr. Potato Head. There ain’t none. You have to have range.”

After Katt’s interview went viral, Steve Harvey seems to have responded with a simple video message, and a caption that reads:

Katt Called Out Kevin Hart…Kevin Responded

As for Kevin Hart, Katt referred to him as the “Jussie Smollett of comedy.” He says that for many of the roles he turned down due to not wanting to compromise the type of comedy he stood for, Kevin Hart gladly came behind him and gathered up, without any true talent. He also referred to Kevin as an ‘industry plant’ who never earned real clout in the comedy game prior to being put on by Hollywood “gatekeepers.”

Katt Williams stays in trouble more than the bad kid in class that’s always in detention. And much like that same kid Williams doesn’t care what anyone thinks about his behavior. AJC compromised a list of some of Williams’ greatest hits including the time he was arrested in Ohio for allegedly shoplifting from a Best Buy. Then there were two separate alleged assaults which took place during the same week in Georgia. One was against a man he allegedly punched at a pool supply store while the other involved a woman named Salena Boston and her friends after they were allegedly attacked by Williams and his entourage.

Boston said they approached the comedian, whose real name is Micah Williams, and he agreed to take a photo with them.

When one of the women with Boston began filming Williams, he got angry and started fighting them, according to the report.

Boston told police Williams punched her, pointed a gun at the group and took the women’s cellphones at one point.

These are a few examples of when Williams has been the aggressor. But his newest legal battle takes a different twist, as he is now the one seeking justice.

Katt Williams’ long-standing legal feud has come to an abrupt end after a judgement resulted against him. Now, he’s been ordered to pay his assault victim compensation.

According to The Blast, Katt Williams has been hit with a $25,000 judgment. Mind you, this isn’t the case where Katt allegedly attacked his chauffeur. This is a case from 2016 and deals with Tyrell Williams, a fan who claimed the comedian punched him in the face.

Katt has been wildin’ all over the place, huh?…

The Blast obtained court documents which state that a Georgia judge recently granted a default judgment in favor of Tyrell Williams. The source says the incident happened back in 2016, as aforementioned.

Reportedly, Tyrell says Katt punched him in the face during an after-party, following one of his shows.

PORTLAND, OREGON — You’re probably thinking, “Katt………Bro??” At this point, we all might wonder the same. Nevertheless while there’s no doubt concern his legendary, comedic contribution, it seems the judicial system could care less about all that.

If you thought Katt Williams was done treading on the other side of law, think again. According to Oregon Live, there’s currently a warrant out for the comedian’s arrest.

Katt Williams, What’s Really Going On?…

As you know in October of last year, 47-year-old Katt was accused of assaulting a chauffeur at Portland International Airport — after being denied a special request. That request?

Reportedly, the driver — Wali Kanani — says Williams demanded that his dog ride in the front passenger seat with him.

Quick backstory…

According to Kanani, the dog was a “large, aggressive German Shepard.” The source says that, once Kanani denied Katt’s dog request, Williams punched the driver in the face — and also called him “white trash.” But, that’s not all that allegedly happened (more on that later).

Regardless of race or ethnicity, there’s hardly any driver who’s going to allow a “large, aggressive” ANYTHING to ride front-seat, in harming distance, right?

Well long-story-short, Katt was arrested approximately 13 hours later on suspicion of fourth-degree assault. The Oregon Live also notes that he was later accused of harassment. The comedian pleaded “not guilty” to both allegations.

Fast-Forward To Present — Katt Williams’ Assault Trial…

Unfortunately for Williams, he was a no-show on Monday, March 4. According to the source, Prosecutor Jenna Plank stated that the actor had violated terms of his pretrial supervision office. So while Katt’s lawyer was attempting to work out a compromise, Multnomah County Circuit Judge Kenneth Walker issued an arrest warrant for the comedian.

Walker also set his warrant bail at $10,000.

The source says the chauffeur and his lawyer were in court awaiting Katt Williams’ arrival, which apparently never happened. Coincidentally, Williams was five hours late for his last court appearance as well, blaming it on traffic.

But here’s where it gets crazy…

According to Oregon Live, Kanani filed another lawsuit against Katt — seeking nearly $1 million in damages, specifically “$990,000 in damages for alleged assault, battery, and emotional distress,” notes the source.

Furthermore, the source reports as follows:

“Kanani, in his amended civil suit, said he explained to Williams that this car was only big enough for six passengers, and he wasn’t comfortable with the ‘possibly dangerous’ dog in the front seat with him, and said the dog would have to ride in the back seat with the other passengers. Williams, without provocation, struck him in the face with his fist, and Kanani said he went back to the airport terminal to get away.

Williams threatened Kanani with his dog as Kanani attempted to get away. Once Kanani made it to the terminal and locked a door behind him, Williams stood on the other side, giving him ‘menacing and threatening glares,’ before leaving, the suit says. Kanani went to the emergency department at Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center in Tualatin, where he was treated for a broken tooth and a cut to his face. Kanani says he’s suffered chronic migraines and ringing in his ear as a result of the alleged attack, the suit says.”

As of now, another court date hasn’t been set for the comedian.

As many of us know by now, comedic legend, Katt Williams, has been out here wildin’ as of late. Well, let me rephrase that – Katt is always wildin’ – at least that’s the way it seems based on the brotha’s repeated trips to jail. And I’m not talking about a prison comedy show either.

As we recently reported, Katt was locked up on Saturday for yet another assault charge. This time, the incident went down in Oregon, which is where he was apparently locked up from Saturday until Tuesday. Only difference now, is that Katt is pointing the finger elsewhere for his latest legal debacle…and it apparently worked.

Recap Of Katt’s Latest Arrest

Before we get into why Katt blamed his own team, let us fill y’all in on why he was singing the ‘penitentiary blues’ in the first place. If you missed our recent report, here’s what went down on Saturday:

Katt Williams was arrested and booked in Portland, Oregon on Saturday (Oct. 6, 2018).

Here’s what was reported via ABC 7:

Comedian Katt Williams was arrested by police after he was accused of attacking his driver in Portland, Oregon. KATU reports Williams was set to perform at the “Wild N Out” music and comedy show at the Moda Center Friday night, but never made it.

Port of Portland police say he got into an argument with his town car driver after they picked him up near the Portland airport. Officers say the driver had swelling and cuts on his face. Williams allegedly left the scene. Police found and arrested him Saturday morning.

According to TMZ, Katt was set to remain in jail until at least Monday (Oct. 8), as law enforcement ‘decided whether he will be extradited to Georgia where he faces a felony warrant.’

But now things have taken a turn…

Then came the news that the comedian was still locked up as of Tuesday afternoon and they wouldn’t let him out, like Akon said in 2004:

Sources close to the comedian tell TMZ … [Katt] Williams’ management team didn’t tell him he was due in an Atlanta courtroom at the same time he was flying to L.A. last month to attend the Emmys. […] Katt’s making it clear he would’ve picked going to court over the award show if anyone on his team had bothered to let him know what was at stake. When Katt no-showed for court, the judge issued a warrant for his arrest. Our sources say Katt never even knew about the warrant until he got busted in Oregon for allegedly assaulting his driver. … Katt feels like he’s paying the price for his team choosing lady Emmy over Lady Justice.

Katt’s Free Now…But…

At approximately 5 p.m. ET, it was reported that Katt Williams had a stroke of legal luck yet again. His finger pointing worked for him and the Hall County, GA authorities decided not to extradite him to Georgia for his pending felony charges and skipping his court date. Speaking of pending, that’s exactly where his freedom lies at this time. Although he was released from a Multnomah County, Oregon jail Tuesday evening, his freedom may be temporary, until he handles his assault situation in Oregon and his case in Georgia.

In today’s ‘What the HELL?!!’ news, controversial comedian, Katt Williams, done made the cut ILOSM family. The brotha is a helluva comedian, but when it comes to personal drama, he just canNOT get his life right. At least, that’s the way it seems from the outside looking in.

The latest legal drama for Katt is that he’s been arrested yet again. Just how many times has he been arrested, you ask? Well, it’s probably useless to attempt to count how many times he’s seen the inside of a holding cell at this point in his life- it’s that many. Anyways, word on the Old School curb, is that the troubled comic was arrested and booked in Portland, Oregon on Saturday (Oct. 6, 2018).

Katt’s Other Latest Drama

In addition to recently offending Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish, comedian/Saturday Night Live actress and writer, Leslie Jones is pissed with Katt…and Kevin. In case you missed our previous report here’s why:
In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Kevin defended his homegirl, Tiffany Haddish, from Katt’s claims that she’s a garbage comedian. However, Kevin also credited Katt with being the one who gave Leslie her big break and puttin’ her on the map. That’s where Leslie drew the line and she’s now going off over the ‘lies.’

In an interview with Bossip, she had a LOT to say about her two brethren in comedy. Here’s what she kicked her read off with:

“Real talk both of them ni**as need to keep my name out they mouth unless they using it to eat my p***y REAL TALK!! None of those ni**as put me on or any woman. While he talking about Katt what did he do to put women on he didn’t help females they wasn’t on his tour F*CK THAT NI**A!! At least Katt put me on his tour. Kevin could have put me on a long time ago but he never respected me or my comedy and trust I can call his card he know I can. Both Kevin and Katt was the same to women like all these ni**as in this game. Sh*tty. and still is. Women have never had it good. At least Katt put women on his tour or shows. How many shows back in the day didn’t have a woman on them. Kevin that mf told me one time I would never make it.”

She wasn’t done yet though:

“So I’m calling all cards I ain’t got to lie I made it without either one of them. Chris rock was the one who put Me on and Neal Brennan a WHITE comic/writer. Not them!! And I still had To work my f***ing ass off to make it happen!! So nobody is telling the truth! everyone need to shut the f*ck up!! Before I tell whats really real!! And they all know I know. For several years now, comedian, Katt Williams, has taken jabs at Kevin Hart for various reasons. In particular, for his comedic abilities, or according to Katt, his lack thereof. It all went down during an interview with The Breakfast Club morning radio show. Katt and Tiff’ were there to promote their upcoming movie, Night School and while there, the topic of Katt Williams and his recent shade toward both of them arose. That’s when Kevin Hart unleashed on his fellow comic.

Hart feels that Katt is just a hater now, because his reign is over:

“My frustration for Katt Williams is this- You keep pointing your finger at Hollywood, the White man, this, this, and this. When do you take responsibility for your actions? You had the shot! You were set up to be the star. You didn’t show up to work! You f**ked off promo shoots! You f**ked up the …promo trips they had set up for you. You became a risk to the studios, which is why the studios stopped f**kin’ with you.”

When asked why he thinks that Katt has turned off studio houses and didn’t capitalize on many opportunities, Kevin went straight to the gut with:

“He chose drugs.”

He continued:

“Take responsibility for what you chose and say, ‘You know what? I’mma fix me and then I’mma come back and stand up for comedy.”

Kevin wasn’t done with Katt just yet. He then talked about Katt’s recent bashing of his homegirl and co-star, Tiffany Haddish:

“So when you say, ‘Tiffany Haddish is not a star and doesn’t deserve…or isn’t a comedian, and these other women have worked hard,’ which they HAVE!”

However, Hart also pointed out that Tiffany has also worked just as hard.

In addition to all of that- because he said a mouthful- Kevin also thinks that Katt is selfish, by sitting back criticizing others who came after him in the game, but never reaching back to help them:

“Katt Williams, have you ever used your platform to f**king bring the people that were under you up? You haven’t! So, because you haven’t, don’t sh*t on those that now are!!”

I’ve used my platform and I’ve brought my guys -and girls- UP!”

He ended it with one more shot:
“The brand of Kevin Hart is a brand that’s spread so fu*in’ FAR, whether you like me or not! My presence in comedy will forever be felt, because I’m a fu**in’ BOSS. I sit on the top of it and the opportunities that I’m giving others, are the ones that I’m creating. So take responsibility for you did. YOU fu**ed you! Nobody else did!”

OUCH! That’s gon’ hurt for Katt in the morning. Kevin cut so deep with those sharp daggers of reality, that the pain is evident and unavoidable for Katt Williams. Pretty sure he’ll respond at some point though. Y’all know Katt ain’t oen to run from a fight. Well, except if it’s the angry husband of an Atlanta radio host and he’s chasing after Katt with a gun. Okay, in that case, Katt knew best.

Katt Williams is a hilarious comedian, but he would also prefer to be an alive comedian. That’s why the story he told Georgia police a few days ago, appears to be pretty accurate. *Scroll down foe video.*

Recap Of Why Radio Hosts Husband Is Pissed With Katt Williams

It was just days ago, that an Atlanta radio host’s husband reportedly told cops that he did not brandish a gun during his altercation with Katt. Fast forward to today and dude better get his story game tight, because what you’re about to see in the video footage below, will make it tough for him to make that work with the story he told.

Long story short: Katt Williams comedically obliterated V103 radio host, Wanda Smith, during a now viral interview. Katt runs into her a day later, at a comedy club in Norcross, GA. Katt allegedly told Wanda “I told you f**kin’ with me will make you go viral!,” referring to the popularity of their video interview the day before. Wanda’s husband gets pissed with Katt and ends up chasing him and his bodyguard into a nearby store with a gun in his possession. Cops get called and Katt and LaMorris give two different sides of the story.

Katt told police that Wanda’s husband chased after him and pointed a gun to his head.

LaMorris denied pointing a gun at him, but instead said as he chased after Katt his gun fell out of his waistband and he simply picked it up, but had no plans on using it.

In the footage above, Katt and LaMorris are seen and heard arguing, as several people stood by recording the fiasco with their mobile phones. At one point, Katt was so heated -due to LaMorris confronting him- that he walked right up to a civilian’s phone and started goin’ off directly into the camera.

During the altercation outside of the comedy theater, things went from 0 to 60 really fast and LaMorris can be seen chasing after Katt and his bodyguard. The problem for LaMorris is that, he was definitely holding a gun in his hand, as he shouted at Katt and chased him into FoodMart.

Prior to now, he said he had no intent to use his gun against Katt, nor the bodyguard. However, in the above video footage, LaMorris seemingly may not have intended to shoot Katt, but it sure does look like he intended to use his gun to at least scare him. That’s just my humble opinion though.
