Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder, Dame Dash, recently raised eyebrows when he revealed that he turned down the opportunity to produce the 2004 comedy film, “Soul Plane.” During a podcast interview with Math Hoffa, Dame claimed that he declined the offer because he didn’t want “white people making money off making fun of us.” The film, which starred Snoop Dogg and Kevin Hart, received criticism for its stereotypical portrayals of Black people.

Dash, who had previously worked with Hart on the film, “Paper Soldiers,” expressed his disappointment that Hart didn’t publicly support him and questioned why the comedian wouldn’t share his work. Despite their past collaboration, Dash felt that Hart’s involvement in “Soul Plane” went against his own principles.

“Anyone who interviews Kev, and he’ll say it. ‘Dame put me in my first movie.’ Why you won’t post his s—t?” Dash said in an interview clip.

“They had asked me to produce ‘Soul Plane’ and I got offended,” he continued. “I didn’t like white people making money off making fun of us,” said Dash.

While Dash acknowledged Hart’s success, he criticized the comedian for certain choices, such as buying a billboard for his film, “Get Hard,” which showed him braiding co-star, Will Ferrell’s, hair. Dash emphasized that he wouldn’t have made the same decision, stating:

“I wouldn’t braid another man’s hair on a billboard… He has done things that I didn’t raise him to do, but he has a different kind of comedy.”

“Soul Plane” faced backlash from some within the Black community for perpetuating stereotypes. Iconic director, Spike Lee, referred to the film as “coonery and buffoonery” at that time. Despite the criticism, the film has since become a cult classic.

Dame didn’t stop with just his “Soul Plane” criticism though. He also called out Kevin for supposedly continuing to do him dirty, by never sharing any of Dame’s content with his millions of followers. The way Dame sees it…he helped Kev’ out by putting him in his first movie, so now that the tables are turned, Dame feels that Kevin should help him out by spreading the word about Dame’s various projects on his platform:

“I’m not judging [Kevin], I’m just saying, just repost my sh*t! I was never mad at him for doing anything he’s done. It’s just not what I would do, and I’m not mad at him now. But it would be nice if any one of y’all muthaf**kas I put on would post my s—t,” Dame said.

Dame’s and Kevin’s reported interactions raises important questions about representation, responsibility, and the boundaries of creative expression in the entertainment game. While they had collaborated in the past, their differing perspectives on comedy and social responsibility highlight the complexities of navigating success in Hollywood. Katt Williams has been out here cuttin’ UP in these social media streets. In a recent interview on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Katt Williams, was droppin’ shade on a plethora of comics and other celebs he disapproves of, including Cedric the Entertainer, Kevin Hart, Steve Harvey, Rickey Smiley, and more.

On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, Williams let Sharpe know that he had an issue with the untruths that “low-brow comedians” had previously spoken about him on Sharpe’s show, and he referred to Cedric, Harvey, and Smiley as a “group.” He noted that the trio had been together for three decades, and each of them knew the others’ secrets. “It’s the age of truth,” he said, “and these guys aren’t just three strangers.”

Katt Slammed Cedric The Entertainer For ‘Stealing’ His Joke

Katt Williams stated that his best joke from 1998, which he was performing on “ComicView,” was then stolen by Cedric the Entertainer, who watched him in the audience and then came backstage to compliment him on it. Two years later, Cedric employed the same joke as his closing one on “The (Original) Kings Of Comedy,” without any alterations, according to Katt.

At first, Katt says he overlooked Cedric’s joke as an imitation, but reconsidered that notion after Cedric denied it was taken from Katt’s work:

“He thought I was a minor comedian and that he could use the joke and not get caught,” Katt Williams argued.

Cedric the Entertainer Responds

In the comments section of an Instagram post that featured a clip from the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Cedric the Entertainer commented on the allegation from Williams, labeling it “revisionist history.”

Ced’  said  that Katt’s view was irrelevant, because Cedric has now starred in more than 40 movies, put on specials, and had his own brand. He also made reference to “Katt in the Hat”, which was held at the Gibson Amphitheater.

Katt Williams Shuts Down Rickey Smiley’s Claim That He Was Supposed To Have His Role In “Friday After Next”

In 2002, Williams and Smiley were part of the cast of the third installment of Ice Cube’s “Friday” series, “Friday After Next.” Williams was cast as “Money Mike,” and Smiley was cast as “Santa Claus.” In a prior interview, Smiley had told Sharpe that he had initially been assigned the role of “Money Mike.”

Williams has now come back to shut that claim down with the quickness:

“This man told you he had Katt Williams’ role. He was going to be Money Mike, and Katt Williams was going to be the Santa Claus,” Katt said to Shannon Sharpe. “We auditioned in Los Angeles. I was audition No. 201. Two-hundred Black comedians auditioned for the role of Money Mike with me. You’re saying all 201 of us was auditioning, and you had already had the role and had already shot the role in four days?”

Katt then declared that he later had a contractual term included which mandated that he would only collaborate with Smiley if he was clothed in a dress for his parts, due to what occurred on “Friday After Next”. When asked why he included that contractual term in Rickey’s contracts, Katt claimed that actors, like Rickey Smiley and Tyler Perry, both excel at playing female characters, but they are not convincing as men.

A few years later, Smiley and Williams starred together in the release of “First Sunday” in 2008. Katt declared that Rickey Smiley’s next movie was ‘First Sunday” Rickey was wearing a dress, which Katt claims was required by his contract.

Katt Williams Slammed Steve Harvey For ‘Copying Mark Curry’s Sitcom’

Katt Williams then went at Steve Harvey, who acted as a high school music instructor in the 1996 sitcom, “The Steve Harvey Show.” According to Katt, Steve jacked the idea of his sitcom from comedian, Mark Curry. Curry played teacher, “Mark Cooper,” in the sitcom “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper,” which was first broadcast in 1992:

“The same Steve that went to go watch Mark Curry do his whole sitcom and then stole everything Mark Curry had,” Williams said. “Now Steve got a sitcom where he’s the principal and he wears a suit.”

Williams mocked Harvey’s acting abilities, mocking Steve’s prior statement that he ‘had no wish to pursue a career in the movies’:

“You couldn’t be a movie star,” Williams said. “There are 30,000 new scripts in Hollywood every year. Not one of them asked for a country bumpkin Black dude that can’t talk good … and look like Mr. Potato Head. There ain’t none. You have to have range.”

Katt Called Out Kevin Hart…Kevin Responded

As for Kevin Hart, Katt referred to him as the “Jussie Smollett of comedy.” He says that for many of the roles he turned down due to not wanting to compromise the type of comedy he stood for, Kevin Hart gladly came behind him and gathered up, without any true talent. He also referred to Kevin as an ‘industry plant’ who never earned real clout in the comedy game prior to being put on by Hollywood “gatekeepers.”

First, A Recap Of Kevin Hart’s Frightening Car Crash

In case you missed it, Kevin and two friends were involved in a terrifying car accident on Sunday, September, 1st. According to reports, cops say that his friend was driving Kevin’s blue classic vehicle, and a female passenger was in the passenger seat…Kevin was seated in the back seat. The car veered off the side of the road, plunging into a nearby ditch in Malibu Hills, CA- near Kevin’s home.

Kevin Hart’s Latest Condition

Here is what has just been reported by The Blast, regarding Kevin Hart’s current condition:

Sources close to Hart tell The Blast he went under the knife Sunday night, and that, “the surgery went smoothly, and he is doing ok.”

Hart’s wife, Eniko, has been by his side at the hospital and we’re told he is up and talking to family and doctors. We’re told the comedian is “feeling as good is to be expected right after surgery,” and that everyone says he is “expected to make a full recovery.”

From the looks of the aftermath, it is miraculous that anyone survived the wreck, but we are so thankful that they did. We’ll keep you all posted as more info surfaces.

Unfortunately for Manhattan resident Carmen Marrero she found out the hard way. The incident took place in January while Kevin was promoting his film The Upside. As he was leaving an event Marerro claims that she just so happened to cross paths with Kevin and his security team. In an attempt to clear a path for his Kevin’s team began pushing people out of the way. Marrero was knocked to the ground and when she got back up she noticed that something was terribly wrong.

For several years now, comedian, Katt Williams, has taken jabs at Kevin Hart for various reasons. In particular, for his comedic abilities, or according to Katt, his lack thereof. For the most part, Kevin has sat back, without responding to Katt’s claims, but early Friday, the brotha must’ve woken up on a different side of the bed or something. Why? Because this time, he held NOTHING back, with the way he checked the hell outta Katt!

It was interesting, especially since Tiffany Haddish- the very person Katt recently dissed, then bowed down to…literally– was sitting there right next to Kev,’ when he was slammin’ Katt something SERIOUS!

Kev’ Goes OFF on Katt!

It all went down during an interview with The Breakfast Club morning radio show. Katt and Tiff’ were there to promote their upcoming movie, Night School and while there, the topic of Katt Williams and his recent shade toward both of them arose. That’s when Kevin Hart unleashed on his fellow comic.

Hart feels that Katt is just a hater now, because his reign is over:

“My frustration for Katt Williams is this- You keep pointing your finger at Hollywood, the White man, this, this, and this. When do you take responsibility for your actions? You had the shot! You were set up to be the star. You didn’t show up to work! You f**ked off promo shoots! You f**ked up the …promo trips they had set up for you. You became a risk to the studios, which is why the studios stopped f**kin’ with you.”

When asked why he thinks that Katt has turned off studio houses and didn’t capitalize on many opportunities, Kevin went straight to the gut with:

“He chose drugs.”

He continued:

“Take responsibility for what you chose and say, ‘You know what? I’mma fix me and then I’mma come back and stand up for comedy.”

Kevin wasn’t done with Katt just yet. He then talked about Katt’s recent bashing of his homegirl and co-star, Tiffany Haddish:

“So when you say, ‘Tiffany Haddish is not a star and doesn’t deserve…or isn’t a comedian, and these other women have worked hard,’ which they HAVE!”

However, Hart also pointed out that Tiffany has also worked just as hard.

In addition to all of that- because he said a mouthful- Kevin also thinks that Katt is selfish, by sitting back criticizing others who came after him in the game, but never reaching back to help them:

“Katt Williams, have you ever used your platform to f**king bring the people that were under you up? You haven’t! So, because you haven’t, don’t sh*t on those that now are!!”

I’ve used my platform and I’ve brought my guys -and girls- UP!”

He ended it with one more shot:
“The brand of Kevin Hart is a brand that’s spread so fu*in’ FAR, whether you like me or not! My presence in comedy will forever be felt, because I’m a fu**in’ BOSS. I sit on the top of it and the opportunities that I’m giving others, are the ones that I’m creating. So take responsibility for you did. YOU fu**ed you! Nobody else did!”

OUCH! That’s gon’ hurt for Katt in the morning. Kevin cut so deep with those sharp daggers of reality, that the pain is evident and unavoidable for Katt Williams. Pretty sure he’ll respond at some point though. Y’all know Katt ain’t oen to run from a fight. Well, except if it’s the angry husband of an Atlanta radio host and he’s chasing after Katt with a gun. Okay, in that case, Katt knew best.

No Laughing Matter, Hart Dragged For His Starbucks Comments:

Many people have expressed outrage and disappointment with Starbucks, after a video surfaced of two African-American men in handcuffs being led out of the Philadelphia coffee shop by police. The two men were simply waiting on a friend, when they were arrested on April 12th. The police were called when the men were waiting in the store, but had not made any purchases. While Starbucks declined to press charges, the damage was already done.

Because of the unjust arrest, many people called for a boycott of Starbucks and protests emerged with many  people entering the store on Monday to call for the manager’s dismissal. On Twitter, the hashtag #BoycottStarbucks has been shared tens of thousands of times. Native Philadelphian Kevin Hart took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the matter as he disagreed with the Boycott:

“Let’s make one thing very clear….This is not a boycott @Starbucks situation….This is horrible management. The manager on duty was wrong. It’s that simple…That’s who needs to take responsibility for this wrong doing.”

In addition, Kevin Hart tweeted the Starbucks Philadelphia location and pleaded with them to make the situation “right”. If you’re a Kevin Hart fan, then you know he loves his city. Hart is always trying to bring attention to the positive things that occur within Philadelphia. Just recently, he went to visit Meek Mill in jail, who is also from Philadelphia. We all remember how good he felt when the Eagles won the super bowl. Kevin commented that Philly was “shining bright like a diamond” and it pained him to see his hometown in a negative light.

After Kevin Hart shared his thoughts, many of his followers gave him the side eye and even referred to him as an “Uncle Tom.” The comedian was also accused of giving Starbucks a pass because many people believed that he had a secret Starbucks endorsement deal, which has yet to be proven.

Despite the harsh feedback that Kevin Hart received, he continued to tweet about Starbucks, expressing his disappointment with how the situation was handled. From the beginning, Kevin Hart shared that he believed that the person who made the error, in racial profiling African-American customers, should have been fired. However, when Starbucks CEO, Kevin Johnson, had a one-on-one with interview with Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America,” he didn’t mention that the employee should be fired (although it later surfaced that the Starbucks manager was, in fact, no longer employed by Starbucks). Johnson shared that the purpose of Starbucks is to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all and he also admitted that the Starbucks employee was wrong for calling the police. Although Johnson didn’t outright say that the employee’s actions were racist, he called her actions “reprehensible” and has apologized to to the 2 Black men and the public several times within five days, following the incident.

As a result of the CEO’s lack of letting the public know at that time, that the manager was no longer employed with Starbucks though, Kevin Hart was then forced to justify some form of action. Expressing that he cares about people, Hart implored his fans to think about the number of minorities that are Starbucks employees. He also mentioned that a boycott could cause financial hardships for some families.

Here’s How Starbucks Plans To Fix The Problem:

It s definitely getting hot in here as Starbucks is feeling the heat. To ensure that this problem never happens again, the company is closing its stores on the afternoon of Tuesday May 29, to conduct the massive ‘racial bias training’ at more than 8,000 Starbucks locations. The training will be geared toward preventing any form of racial discrimination in Starbucks locations. The CEO also met with the 2 Black men in private to apologize and ask them for any suggestions to help prevent this from happening in the future.

I gotta give it to Starbucks, in just five days, they’ve clearly put forth major effort to attempt to get this thing right. They immediately parted ways with that racist employee and devised a costly plan to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Many corporations (*cough H&M*) should take notes.

Hart completed the race narrowly missing his goal of finishing under four hours. In spite of the rain and some bad cramping at mile 20, he finished strong on Sunday. Hart immediately committed to running four more marathons, but you won’t see him on the trail anytime in the immediate future. He will be in recovery mode and baby mode in the coming weeks.

“You can assume that after the race you’ll see me in Tommy John loungewear and underwear on this plane back. I won’t take them off for a while,” Hart said. “You won’t see me [in] any athletic wear for a while after this run.”

It’s been ten days since hurricane Maria severely devastated the island of Puerto Rico as a category 4 storm, killing 16 people. Ever since then, there has been a major outcry for help, as the 3.4 million people there scrape for much needed supplies and now they’re also running out of food. They are expected to be without electricity for months and many are on the street, with no place to go after losing their homes to the flood.

There are also very limited shelter facilities there and without the resources and lack of communication due to damaged phone towers and such, it has been difficult for them to reach out to family in other parts of the United States.

Trump has been getting hammered for pretty much ignoring the plight of the people in Puerto Rico, sending no help to the island. Many have accused him of possibly not even realizing that Puerto Rico is part of the United States, after he took jabs at the island’s finances after the storm.

Now celebrities have been stepping up to do what Trump clearly is not and that is, dedicate their money and time to the people of Puerto Rico.

Two of those celebs are Kevin Hart and rapper, Fat Joe, who is Puerto Rican. The two teamed up to announce a donation center where people can send much needed supplies to be shipped to the island. Hart also announced that he is donating $50K to the island.

As we sought to put the pieces of Hart’s apology video/scandal together, we came across some interesting info. In July and August 2017, there were rumors reported by several sites, that a woman Kevin was allegedly cheating with is a Miami singer named Monique Gonzalez a.k.a. MoMo. The story broke after RadarOnline released video of what they alleged was evidence that Hart was cheating with a mystery woman (who closely resembles Momo)…

Her New Suspicious Post

Although that rumor about Hart and MoMo has never been confirmed, MoMo’s recent social media post raises suspicion among many. You see, at the same time that Kevin Hart released his video apology on Saturday, September 16th (2017), MoMo posted a message on Instagram that read in both English and Spanish: “The truth always comes to light. La verdad siempre sale a la luz”

Fans quickly caught wind of her post and started lighting her UP in the comments. It’s safe to say that a bunch of ’em are most definitely #TeamKevinAndEnikoHart. Check out some of their comments below:

Again, MoMo has never been confirmed to be the woman cheating with Hart, nor the woman on the alleged sexual video that he’s currently being extorted with. However, the FBI now knows who’s behind all of this…

The FBI is now said to have identified a suspect in this extortion case:

Via TMZ: he FBI is on the case and have a suspect. It’s unclear if they’re looking at the woman who was with Kevin in the video or whether it’s someone who either secretly recorded the encounter or gained access to the iPhone that captured it.

Geesh! This is playing out like an episode of Scandal. Where’s “Olivia Pope” when you need her?

What’s Most Important

The most important factors in all of this right now, are (1) making sure that Kevin Hart’s pregnant wife is able to keep the emotions and stress this could possibly cause her, under control for the sake of their unborn child; and (2) that Kevin’s two young children with his ex-wife, Torrei Hart, are handling the unfortunate news about their father as well as they can.
