Patti LaBelle is a music legend whose influence reaches far and wide. Her beautiful voice and down to earth personality has always made her a fan favorite, and for years she’s been listed with great soulful sistahs like Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan and the late Aretha Franklin as a pioneer of soul music. One performer who holds her in high regard is Mariah Carey, who many would also agree is a legend in her own right. Earlier this year Patti appeared on Busy Phillips’ talk show Busy Tonight as a special guest and during one segment Busy asked Patti if she had ever mentored any of the young lady singers who have come behind her. Not surprisingly Patti listed a few industry heavy hitters like Beyonce’ and Mary J. Blige. But when she began talking about Mariah her tone softened to reflect the true nature of their relationship. Essence reports that Patti made a joke about having to get Mariah all the way together at certain times, but it was all in fun (skip to the 3:23 mark).
“Mariah is my goddaughter. I had to slap her every now and then,” LaBelle revealed. “She’s so phenomenal and so good, she doesn’t need to be slapped anymore. That’s my baby.”

Right bout now, Mariah Carey is in no mood to sing about ‘butterflies,’ nor is she currently having any ‘visions of love,’ when it comes to her longtime ex-manager and the most recent pickle she’s put Mariah in.
In case y’all hadn’t heard, Mariah is involved in an ongoing lawsuit with Stella Bulochnikov (pictured above with Mariah), the woman who managed her for years. The latest drama in their legal dispute, is that Stella is now demanding medical records from Mariah, in an attempt that Mariah and her legal team say is meant to ’embarrass and harass her.’
Why This Multi-Million Dollar Legal Drama Started
Apparently, ex-manager, Stella Bulochnikov, is trying to fight back in a lawsuit that Mariah’s ex-assistant, Lianna Shakhnazaryan, filed against both of them for ‘wrongful termination.’
It all started when the “Butterfly” songstress, first sued Shakhnazaryan for $8 MILLION for reportedly trying to blackmail her with “intimate videos” Mariah says the ex-assistant filmed of her without her knowledge.
Shakhnazaryan then turned around and sued Mariah Carey and her former manager, Bulochnikov, for $3 MILLION, for ‘wrongful termination, whistleblower retaliation, and harassment.’

It’s no secret that Mariah Carey is one of music’s biggest singers but also, one of the biggest divas in the industry. Her high maintenance ways have surfaced more throughout the years and many employees are speaking out about what it’s like to be around the singer and her demands.
It is reported that not only are employees speaking out but an insider at the LasVegas Ceasar Palace reveals their own experience with the R&B Diva.
The Demands Just Won’t Stop
Carey’s diva ways prove to be a nightmare for those she’s worked with and even when she loses employees it does not stop her from making demands to employees in other workplaces.
While doing her residency in Las Vegas, The Butterfly Returns, a Ceasar’s Palace insider spoke out about the outrageous requests and demands the staff receives from the singer.
From requesting last-minute pedicurists from the front desk at 9 pm to requesting the staff to dress up as minions to entertain her children, her requests are no shock to those close to her. The insider shares that Carey is not happy when her demands are not met and rarely mentions compensation for anything she requests.
Ex-Employees Know It All Too Well
While staff members at the Las Vegas hotel are blown away by the diva behavior of Carey, her ex-employees are very familiar with it and since parting ways with the singer, they’ve spoken out. Carey has been sued by two former members of her staff for mistreatment and being “required to meet constant demands of great magnitude.” The Las Vegas staffers witness this behavior daily and even notice Carey’s current assistant being on the verge of a breakdown.
The insider revealed, “She’s [the assistant] a very nice individual but seems terrified for her job, I helped arrange flowers for the villa and, and she repeated several times: ‘Everything must be perfect!'”
It doesn’t seem like Carey’s diva ways will stop anytime soon, the singer is infamous for making her demands and getting what she wants.

On an interview clip from Leave It To Stevie, Stevie J. (shown above hugged up with Mariah in her “Honey” video, a song he co-produced) recalled working with Mariah on her Butterfly album. The highly successful album went five-times platinum, but Stevie claims the album wasn’t his only accomplishment. He actually said he had a past alleged fling with Mariah and that she did something for him after they’d hooked up. According to Stevie, Mariah paid homage to his penis on her album credits…I tell ya’s there is never a dull moment with this dude. Anyways, he said that when Mariah referred to him as the “fat muffin man” in the Butterfly album credits, that she was actually showing love to his “beefcake” because that was apparently their private inside joke, reports VH1.

IT’S NOT THE FIRST TIME
Although Stevie had fans wondering about him and Ms. Carey after his reveal, that wasn’t the first time there’s been talk about his involvement with Mariah. In recent years, an insider shared Nick Cannon’s rumored reaction to Stevie’s alleged sexual relationship with the “Honey” singer.
An episode of Wild N Out went awry when the games took a serious turn, reports Daily Mail. While Stevie and Nick were roasting each other on the show, Stevie claimed he’d slept with Mariah. Almost immediately, the fun and games went completely out the window.

Dinner With the Dead?:
According to The Blast, Mariah Carey was hospitalized back in 2016, after she “reportedly believed Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Prince were coming to dinner.” It has been reported that the rumored hospitalization was detailed as one of the many claims discussed by Mariah Carey’s former longtime manager, Stella Stolper (a.k.a. Stella Bulochnikov). For those who don’t know, according to Page Six, Bulochnikov is preparing to file a lawsuit against the singer for sexual harassment.
It has been reported that she claims Carey violated the U.S. Civil Rights Act and the Fair Employment and Housing Act in addition to a breach of contract. Bulochnikov claims Carey would often walk around nude in front of her. She has also detailed examples of Carey’s alleged substance abuse and mental health issues. Reports have also revealed Bulochnikov’s claim about the time Carey was suffering hallucinations that led to her hospitalization. Although the incident managed to stay out of the public eye, Bulochnikov- who oftentimes had to cover help Mariah cover up her unfortunate incidents- is spilling the beans now.

Sources close to the alleged incident tell us that the nanny panicked and alerted Mariah’s inner circle because she feared her employer was a danger to herself and others. Mariah Carey’s team arrived at the singer’s house with a psychiatrist and we’re told that the doctor felt the singer needed to be immediately hospitalized. Our sources involved with the situation claim that Mariah actually attempted to jump out of a moving vehicle on their way to the hospital.
We’re told that doctors at The Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center suggested Carey be placed on an involuntary 5150 hold but ultimately released her to the care of her team and referred her to some private physicians. Carey’s high-powered friends — like Brett Ratner, who knew bigwigs at the hospital — were enlisted to help and keep the incident private and facilitate the singer getting released. – The Blast
So, of course there’s one looming question fans are dying to know the answer to: Are the claims true? Almost immediately after the claims made headlines, a representative for Mariah Carey released a statement to address the situation. The singer’s rep released a statement, to Page Six, detailing her employment timeline with the singer. The rep has also denied Bulochnikov’s claims and plans to take legal action to fight back in the singer’s defense.
“Stella Bulochnikov was terminated from employment as Mariah’s manager due to failure to perform her job effectively and ill-serving her client. Stella was not under contract for employment. She has been spreading false rumors to any media outlet that will publish them. We won’t respond to lies and threats. Again, if this frivolous and baseless claim is filed, we will defend against it vigorously and successfully. It is also interesting to note that this is the first lawyer who will move forward on Stella’s behalf, having previously gone through three others who wouldn’t.”
This looks like an intense legal battle waiting to happen. So it’s probably safe to say more alleged claims will be made public in the near future. We’ll keep y’all posted.
For the past couple years, Mariah Carey has had a few public blunders and outbursts that have led fans to wonder if there was something terribly wrong with her. From questionable performances to her memorable New Years Eve performance, fans have agreed something hasn’t been quite right with Mariah Carey for quite some time. Now, there may be a legitimate reason for her actions. In a new interview with People Magazine, Mariah Carey has revealed she’s been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
While most people have probably heard of bipolar disorder, many still don’t know exactly what it is. For those who aren’t too familiar with the disorder, it is “a mental health condition that causes extreme mood swings that include emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression),” according to the Mayo Clinic. The publication also offers an example of the types of behavior you may see when a person is suffering from bipolar disorder.
When you become depressed, you may feel sad or hopeless and lose interest or pleasure in most activities. When your mood shifts to mania or hypomania (less extreme than mania), you may feel euphoric, full of energy or unusually irritable. These mood swings can affect sleep, energy, activity, judgment, behavior and the ability to think clearly. Episodes of mood swings may occur rarely or multiple times a year. While most people will experience some emotional symptoms between episodes, some may not experience any. – Mayo Clinic
To many fans, Mariah Carey’s diagnosis might seem relatively enlightening as it would explain a lot but the singer definitely wasn’t too thrilled about it. During a recent interview, Mariah admitted she didn’t want to believe it was true. “I didn’t want to believe it,” Mariah admitted. The singer went on to express her fears about the mental condition in regards to her career. Like most people, she definitely didn’t want people knowin’ her business but once she changed her outlook on the situation, things got a bit better. “Until recently I lived in denial and isolation and in constant fear someone would expose me. It was too heavy a burden to carry and I simply couldn’t do that anymore. I sought and received treatment, I put positive people around me and I got back to doing what I love — writing songs and making music.”
The famed singer has revealed she’s now being treated for Bipolar II disorder, taking the proper medications she needs to stay on track. “I’m actually taking medication that seems to be pretty good. It’s not making me feel too tired or sluggish or anything like that. Finding the proper balance is what is most important.”
She continued by explaining how bipolar disorder ultimately affected other areas of her life. For quite some time, she also had trouble sleeping. “For a long time, I thought I had a severe sleep disorder. But it wasn’t normal insomnia and I wasn’t lying awake counting sheep. I was working and working and working … I was irritable and in constant fear of letting people down. It turns out that I was experiencing a form of mania. Eventually, I would just hit a wall. I guess my depressive episodes were characterized by having very low energy. I would feel so lonely and sad — even guilty that I wasn’t doing what I needed to be doing for my career.”
Despite the diagnosis, Mariah Carey has admitted that things are a bit better now and she’s much more confident when it comes to discussing her condition. She also hopes the stigma associated with mental health becomes a thing of the past so people won’t feel shame when it comes to seeking the help they need. The singer admitted how difficult it was for her shortly after being diagnosed. “I’m just in a really good place right now, where I’m comfortable discussing my struggles with bipolar II disorder. I’m hopeful we can get to a place where the stigma is lifted from people going through anything alone. It can be incredibly isolating. It does not have to define you and I refuse to allow it to define me or control me.”

Mariah Carey put on her professional face late last night and returned to the Dick Clark Productions stage for the 2018 New Year’s Eve ‘Rock N’ Eve’ extravaganza in New York city. Last year, Ms. Carey performed on that same stage and it was an outright disaster. She lip synched trough the songs, but then stopped all together after becoming off sync with her own pre-recorded vocals. Mariah also looked awkward trying to do dance moves with her background dancers -who by the way, remained on point, even when their boss was standing on stage like a deer caught in headlights after her mess up.

Nick’s Details On What Ended Marriage To Mariah
In a new interview with VladTV, Nick admitted that he still loves his “Dream Lover singing ex, but in the same breathe, he also stated he was not able to continue their marriage for a couple of vital reasons. One of the reasons was due to both of them being superstars with egos, who refused to be overshadowed by the other. When asked what the “final step” that sparked him wanting to divorce Mariah, here’s what Nick had to say:
“It was simple. […] I always feel like, when one person turns their’s on, the other has to turn their’s off. And it got to a place where I wasn’t able to step into the next realm of my existence, by trying to work within her [Mariah’s] existence.”
He went on to explain that “It wasn’t no beef” between he and Mariah at that time, but that he needed space to grow as a man and a father. Nick also wasn’t trying to be bossed around by Mariah and having his kids looking at him like he was less than man:
“As I began to figure out some more things as a man, she was doing her thing. And what I never wanted, was there to be any competition, because we had two beautiful children. So that idea was like ‘Look, if I could be a better father outside of your bubble, then that’s what I wanna do ’cause I’m here for my children. And no disrespect to your bubble, and how y’all move and the system that you created, but that’s not conducive to my lifestyle and my beliefs. So therefore, I will step outside.’

Nick continued:
“It was even ideas where I was like, ‘Yo I’ll buy an apartment in this same building, a house next door. But I can’t abide by your rules, when I have a set of beliefs and my own rules, ESPECIALLY when I’m trying to be an example for my children.’ And that was as simple as that.”
Nick also said that the cheating rumors were not true, but that he just refused to remain in a screwed up marriage:
“It had nothing to do with no infidelity, it had nothing to do with no rumors, or anything like that. It was like ‘Yo, I believe in different things, and what I’m not gonna do is pretend that I’m rockin’ [with you], just because I love you and then we both in a f*cked up situation 10, 15 years from now because I didn’t step, up and speak up as a man, as I should.'”
Despite their past marriage issues, Nick said he and Mariah are very close an talk to each other every day. Hell, if they’re doing that, maybe Nick should act on his emotions and try to get his woman back, but I digress….

A wise person once said, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” That’s exactly what Mariah Carey is planning to do when we all ring in the new year of 2018 next week. In other words, she’s taking a page outta the Old School nursery story, “The Little Engine That Could.” Why? Because last year, on New Years Eve, Ms. Carey failed miserably when she performed on ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2016.
Many of y’all may recall that nightmare of a fiasco that caused for ol’ girl to be the butt of many jokes and the face of many hilarious memes across social media.
Basically, as Mariah and her dancers started performing on that outdoor stage on that cold New Year’s Eve night, her prerecorded vocals and backup dancers received far more shine, than her actual performance. That was because as the track for her song, “Emotions,” started playing, Mariah appeared to be lost as hell and didn’t start singing along to it on time. When she did attempt to catch up to the music, she still failed and then eventually gave up all together, opting for her audience to sing it for her instead.

The bright side was that at least her dancers never stopped hitting their marks and her pre-recorded background vocals were crystal clear. On second thought, neither of those factors weren’t so bright after all though, because they only highlighted Mariah’s missed cues even more.
After Mariah’s NYE disaster aired on live TV, then came the finger pointing. Mariah blamed Dick Clark Productions for intentionally sabotaging her set, by screwing up the sound in her in-ear monitors, just to boost ratings. Her lead dancer/choreographer also said he was fired because Mariah blamed him as well somehow. The production crew shot back at Mariah and blamed her team for not being on point.
However, today is a new day. A day that many assume is, in fact, a plot to boost ratings for the NYE event, because Mariah will definitely be hitting that stage again on December 31, 2017 to try to reclaim her crown.
In all honesty, I couldn’t care less about watching Mariah redeem herself on that stage on New Year’s. BUT what I do care about, is bumping her FIRE 1994 “Christmas” album this Christmas season. Mariah created one of the last classic Christmas albums ever recorded and I give the “Butterfly” diva her props for that. Forty-seven year old Mariah Carey has been called many things throughout her life, from a helluva SANGER, to a straight up diva. According to her former bodyguard, Michael Anello, though, she is a racist and a boss who likes to sexually harass her beefed up bodyguard. He’s now suing her for a boatload of money.
The Sexual Harassment Claim: ‘Maaaaaarcuuuuus…’

So, where do we start with these allegations? For starters, according to Page Six’s report, Anello is pretty much saying that when he was employed by Mariah, she used to get her “Lady Eloise” on. In other words, he was allegedly the “Maaaaaarcuuuuus” to Mariah’s “Lady Eloise” like in the movie, Boomerang. Get it? For further clarity here’s what Mariah’s ex-bodyguard claims:
Via PageSix: The [lawsuit] draft suit accuses the “Touch My Body” singer of performing “sexual acts with the intent that they be viewed by Anello.” Specifically Carey allegedly instructed Anello to come to her Cabo San Lucas hotel room to help her with her luggage. When he arrived, she was half-covered in a racy [see-thru] negligee, according to TMZ. When Anello tried to duck out of the room, Carey allegedly insisted that he finish moving the luggage first. There was no contact between the two.
The Racist Claims
In addition to Anello claiming Mariah was trying to get her freak on with him, he also claims she’s a racist. Here’s where his claim raised a few eyebrows: Mariah is biracial- white and black- but Anello, who is white, claims she committed racial hate crimes against him. That would mean that she racially hates half of herself as well I guess. Anyways, here’s what Anello’s lawsuit states about this:
Via TMZ: [Anello] the guy who owns the company says [Mariah] constantly humiliated him by referring to him as a Nazi, a skinhead, a KKK member and a white supremacist. […] Anello says Mariah humiliated him and his colleague by referring to them as members of the hate groups. Anello also claims Mariah “wanted to be surrounded with black guys, not white people.”
How Much $$ The Ex- Bodyguard Is Suing For
Although Mariah’s ex-bodyguard, Anello, listed both the sexual harassment and racial hate claims within his lawsuit, he and his company are actually suing for money he says Mariah stuck them for. According to Anello’s attorney, he worked as security for Mariah from June 2015 to May 2017. However he said that Mariah failed to cut him his checks for that $221,329.51 worth of work. He’s also suing for an additional $551,000, which he says Mariah promised to him for an additional 2 more years of work. However, he didn’t get to fulfill those 2 years of employment with Mariah and is therefore suing for money he was supposed to earn.
As it stands right now, Mariah’s attorney is now reportedly in settlement talks with Anello and his attorney. Well, well, well.
