Remember “Cole,” the not-so-bright best friend of “Martin” on the 90’s sitcom, Martin? He’s also known as “Cockroach” from The Cosby Show too. His Martin character was actually the dumbest dude ever…LOL, but he was FUNNY! On Martin, “Tommy” was the one who always had a “mysterious job” that nobody ever knew about, but in REAL LIFE, it actor, Carl Payne (“Cole”) was actually the one with the mysterious job that everyone eventually found out about, and the cool thing is that he was not trying to hide it.

After the fame of Martin faded, Carl began to venture out and do things that he’d never done before. One of those things was working a regular 9 to 5 job for the very first time, to take care of his and we respect that wholeheartedly.

From “Cole” To Car Salesman, Watch Video

FYI: Carl is no longer a car salesman, but back in 2011, he’d become one after his “Martin” sitcom fame. When video surfaced, of him as a Honda car salesman a while back, fans were surprised by the thought of “Cole” selling cars. Now that the initial shock of his reality is over, Carl Payne eventually spoke out about his time as a car salesman and why he did it.

He said: “It started out as research for a role and then I kept doing it and I like it. I got a family man, you know and there’s no shame in taking care of your family.”

We don’t necessarily like the way TMZ presented their story and tried to almost poke fun at the man for earning an honest living. There’s nothing wrong with being a car salesman and once you actually get past the fact that he was once a big time sitcom actor, you realize that he had a good job that a lot of people wouldn’t mind having right about now.

As far as the ongoing tension he had with Martin Lawrence, all we can say is WOW! They did a helluva job covering that up! Thankfully they’re in a better space now.

Carl Payne is now a producer and/or writer for several stage productions, internet shows, and TV shows. As mentioned earlier, he’s no longer working at the car dealership. Keep doing your thang Carl!

As if it wasn’t already sad enough to see actors, Tisha Campbell and Duane Martin say ‘peace out’ to each other after 20 years a marriage, now there’s this.

What Tisha Is Accusing Duane Martin Of

The former “Martin” actress is accusing Duane of hiding major money from her as they go through the divorce process. She’s now asking the judge to to take action against Duane for trying to play her.

It’s not yet known how much money Tisha’s accusing Duane from hiding from her, but according to her latest court filing, she says he hid and misappropriated money during their marriage. For those reasons, she wants payback.

Tisha is seeking spousal support from Duane and she also wants to block him from being eligible of receiving spousal support of any kind from her.

Tisha & Duane Accused Of Money Fraud

Tisha’s latest filing against Duane, isn’t his only current money problem. As we previously reported, they BOTH are caught up in a bankruptcy fraud lawsuit, which ultimately Duane is taking the blame for…after Tisha told the court it was all his fault. In case y’all missed that, here’s what we reported a few weeks ago…

They’ve been fighting to prove to the court that they did not intentionally hide thousands during their prior bankruptcy filing, but apparently a judge ain’t buying it.The Martins are accused of intentionally hiding $50,000 during their prior bankruptcy filing, in order to pocket the money, instead of properly paying their dues. In a March court filing, Duane and Tisha finally both responded to the claims and in doing so, they also revealed just how tense things between them actually are and/or was.

Based on court docs, it appears that the bankruptcy fraud situation was all Duane’s fault and he’s manning up to it.

Via TheBlast: According to documents obtained by The Blast, Duane Martin is pleading with the court to not sanction him and his estranged wife after the trustee in their divorce claimed they hid $50,000 in acting residuals. The crux of the argument is over a $125,000 payment that was made late to the Trustee, and an alleged misunderstanding over which residuals the Trustee is entitled to given that the Martins thought they were buying back their rights.

In his declaration, Duane admits he “Had problems determining what amounts might be owed to the estate” when he delivered a check for Tisha’s residuals. He says the blunder falls squarely on his shoulders: “Prior to our separation, I handled the family finances and business finances by myself. I recognized then that I was not capable of preparing an accounting by myself.”

Duane then revealed that things are apparently so bad between him and Tisha, that communication between them is and/or was pretty much nonexistent and that when they do talk, they beef:

Duane says, “We were having difficulty communicating with each other and agreeing about major and minor issues, including who to retain to prepare the accounting requested by the Trustee.”

That ain’t all though, the judge ordered them to turn over all financial documents of residuals they’ve earned since their February divorce filing, up until the present. Until it’s determined how much (if any) money they owe, according to The Blast, the [bankruptcy] trustee will continue to collect all residuals and the Martins won’t see a dime, for now. If the accounting reveals the pair owe money, they will have 30 days to pay it

And unfortunately, the saga continues. Hopefully the Martins will be able to move past this soon.

Most of us, Martin sitcom fans, first learned that actress, Tichina Arnold a.k.a. “Pam,” could sing in the 90’s. She had the ability to crack us up on Martin, but she also had a few moments on the show when she showed off her beautiful alto voice. Who remembers when “Pam” and “Gina” (Tisha Campbell) were both trying to impress Notorious B.I.G. during one episode and “Pam” decided to sing “Gina’s” name in front of the rap legend, with the hopes he’d recognize her talent. We also can’t forget about that infamous duet she and Brian McKnight performed on the show, during “Martin’s” proposal to “Gina.”

Nowadays, it’s Tichina’s beautiful 14 year old daughter, Alijah Kai Haggins, who is creating quite a few unforgettable moments of her own with the talents her Moms gifted her. Akilah inherited her mother’s ability to sing and her voice is just as beautiful. She’s also just won the hearts of many, after Tichina recently posted two video clips of Akila singing her heart out on Instagram. Tichina’s mini-me sang Rihanna’s hit, “Love On The Brain,” better than Rihanna even sang it, in my humble opinion. That’s no diss to Ri’, she did her thang on the song, but it’s just an observation. In the first Instagram post, Tichina explained that these video clips of her baby singing, were filmed during Christmas, when their family asked Akila to stand and entertain them. Soon as they heard her voice, they all whipped out their phones and started recording…

Not sure what Akila wants to be when she grows up, but a career in the arts wouldn’t be a bad idea for her.

****UPDATE**** TISHA AND DUANE MARTIN FINALLY SPEAK OUT ABOUT THEIR FINANCIAL SITUATION AFTER NEWS BROKE ABOUT THEIR DEBT:

Tisha and Duane released a statement online stating this: ‘“We got involved with some loans before the crash, couldn’t agree to a settlement with the banks,so we filed to reorganize,”—Duane Martin and Tisha Campbell Martin.’

This is something we hate to see celebs who have been in the game as long as Tisha Campbell Martin and her husband, Duane Martin, go through. News is out now that Tisha and Duane have had to finally file Chapter 7 bankruptcy and that they are currently $15 million in debt with only $313,000 in assets.

Here is the breakdown of their assets via DailyMail:

Their assets include $65,000 in real estate, $248,000 in personal property, totaling $313,000 in assets. But they owe over $15,145,387 in liabilities to creditors
Their joint monthly income is $7,655 but their monthly expenses come out to $16,953. Currently they only have $200 in cash on hand $173 in a credit union.

The couple own a 2014 Range Rover, 1999 Kawasaki Drifter, 2004 Yamaha Scooter, 2016 Range Rover and 2016 Jeep Wrangler. Other assets include $15,000 in household goods, $2,500 in electronics, $2,500 in sports and hobby equipment, $1,000 in clothing and $2,500 in jewelry. The documents list the value of their two dogs as $2.

Tisha and Duane also list several companies they run, including a production company where Tisha is paid for her work on the ABC show Dr. Ken Show.’ She explains her contract is up in early 2016 and she isn’t sure they will ask her back
The court documents reveal they owe $208,611 in tax debt and $113,000 in student loans.

The couple’s liabilities include $3 million to Broadway Federal Bank for a personal guaranty for a real estate loan they took out, $9.5 million to the City of Los Angeles for a personal guaranty, $82,000 in back state taxes for 2005 & 2011, $86,000 to New York State Department of Taxation and $30,000 to the State Board of Equalization.

Just like we always say here at ILOSM, celebrities are REAL people with REAL people problems, just like us regular folks. While most of us can’t relate to their level of debt to income ratio, many of us can relate to falling on hard times. So we understand what Tisha and and Duane are going through right now. We truly hope they’re able to pull themselves up outta this financial rut soon, and based on their levels of talent, we’re confident their acting skills will be able to get them through and we wish them the best. By the way, both of them have been funny as hell on the show, “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” which further proves the point that they definitely have the skills to pay the bills.

We’ve all heard rumors surrounding tension on the set of Martin sitcom back in the day, but the rumors we mostly remember hearing were about how Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell-Martin couldn’t get along for nothing. We never really heard that there was some major tension between actor, Carl Payne (“Cole) and Martin. So much so that they were going at on many occasions on the set and Carl has now confirmed that.
