ILOSM fam,’ remember when TLC’s T-Boz and Westcoast rapper, Mack 10, jumped the broom back in the day? At that time, their union caught many fans off guard because from the outside looking in, it was like watching Whitney Houston marry Bobby Brown. As y’all know…when Bobby and Whitney first married, everybody and their mommas thought it was such an oil-and-water marriage that wasn’t gonna last. Yet, little did they know, Bobby and Whitney proved to everyone that they had “something in common,” just like their song. Anyways, as far as Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Dedrick “Mack 10” Rolison’s union, turns out they didn’t have something in common…except for their daughter, Chase Rolison. How do we know that? Because they’re union didn’t last nowhere near as long as Bobby’s and Whitney’s.

It was 22 years ago that T-Boz and Mack 10 said “I do” in 2000. A few years later they separated, ultimately divorcing in 2004. TLC member, T-Boz released a book, titled “A Sick Life: TLC ‘n Me: Stories from on and Off the Stage.” In it, she’s talking about the many hardships she’s faced throughout her life, including her health and life-threatening illness, sickle cell anemia, as well as the horrible things she says her Pops did to her. T-Boz also exposed her dad’s past girlfriend and his current wife for reportedly doggin’ her as well.

Her Claims About Her Father

In a prior interview on The Breakfast Club, T-Boz went into detail about her Pops:
– Her father allegedly dogged her on Christmases and she would sit by the window, crying. One Christmas in particular, T-Boz said that her dad lied and told her he was coming, but that he actually was getting married that day…without telling her. He never called her back that Christmas day and never showed up, according to T-Boz.

– As of 2017, he’d never met her child: T-Boz said that at TLC’s concert, her dad showed up and “fronted for the cameras,” pretending to be a great grandfather to her daughter, Chase. T-Boz said that was a bold faced lie:

“I did a show and he was frontin’ for the cameras basically and was saying, ‘Oh Chase if you ever need to talk…’ He don’t call Chase. He’s never even met Chance, my son, and he’s 2.”

– T-Boz says her Dad “allowed” his girlfriends to mentally and physically abuse her when she was as young as “8, 7, [and] 6.” “One of them (her dad’s wife), tried to throw me in a bath of hot water,” she said. T-Boz also said that her dad’s then girlfriend would slap her hand out of her own father’s hand whenever T-Boz would hold her dad’s hand as a child. She also revealed that the girlfriend used to blackmail her and slap her food off the table when her dad wasn’t looking. Through all of that, T-Boz revealed that her dad would never say anything in her defense.

Prodigy passed away on June 20, 2017, at the young age of 42, days after performing under grueling conditions in Las Vegas. His publicist released a statement on the day of his passing, stating that just “a few days ago in Vegas after a Mobb Deep performance for complications caused by a sickle cell anemia crisis. As most of his fans know, Prodigy battled the disease since birth.”

A few days later, it was widely reported that while hospitalized, Prodigy choked on a boiled egg and now the officials are trying to determine if the egg caused his death, or if he died from his sickle cell crisis.

Soon after getting word of his death, T-Boz released a flurry of tweets with emotions that ranged from hurt, to anger toward the lack of attention sickle cell gets in the health and mainstream industry.

She also took aim toward the Black Lives Matter Movement, questioning why the movement isn’t standing up for the predominantly African American affiliated disease- sickle cell. She also voiced her concern for her children every time she enters the hospital from her sickle cell crisis. But the biggest shocker came when she revealed that she’d almost died a few times from sickle cell and kept it from the public.

Chilli went mute on the topic- which was a smart move, especially after L.A.’s ex-wife/former singer and label exec, Pebbles, accused her of having an affair with L.A. during their marriage (something L.A. and Chilli denied). However, her girl, T-Boz had a lil’ something to say- she is NOT shocked by the fact that Reid’s former female employee at Epic Records is reportedly claiming he sexually harassed her repeatedly on the job.

Sexual Harassment Claims Against L.A. Reid

In case y’all missed those allegations, here’s a quick breakdown of why L.A. Reid suddenly stepped down as CEO of Epic Records in May (2017):

Via Billboard– In a letter to Sony, the claimant’s attorney detailed alleged harassment his client had faced on a daily basis, which included alleged inappropriate remarks about her appearance and clothing and alleged propositions that caused her embarrassment and distress, making it impossible for her to continue working at the label. The letter — the contents of which were relayed to Billboard — threatened litigation if a settlement wasn’t reached. It wasn’t clear if Sony’s investigation had confirmed any of the letter’s allegations, and one person in Reid’s camp said the letter contained inaccuracies.

T-Boz’s Reactions To Sexual Harassment Claims Against L.A.

Via Billboard: Watkins and [Rozonda “Chilli”] Thomas have seen the best and the worst of the music industry, and while they’re not bitter, they’re honest in a way that some of today’s big stars, who thrive on an air of opaque mystery, perhaps cannot be. There is, for one, their reaction to Reid’s exit from Epic amid sexual harassment allegations. “I hear more people are coming out saying stuff,” says Watkins, as Thomas buries her face in her hands. “I was surprised he was fired, but [the accusations] didn’t come as a surprise. I don’t wish him anything ill. But surprised? No.”

Again, it was best that Chilli did the smart thing of just remaining quiet. But it’s great to see that T-Boz isn’t on some politically correct superstar tip…sometimes that gets old and fake after a while. Now, whether or not L.A. is guilty of what he’s being accused of? That is something to be determined by those involved in the situation. We’ll sit back and see how this all plays out

The ‘Message’ From Left Eye’s Spirit

T-Boz made a guest appearance on the show, “Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry,” where she had an emotional experience with Tyler Henry, the psychic/medium/clairvoiyant(or whatever the appropriate terminology is for his cosmic abilities). Although I think Tyler Henry’s ‘talents’ are a tad questionable, T-Boz’s love for Left Eye was absolutely genuine, beautiful, and heart wrenching.

During the session, T-Boz’s daughter and a few family members looked on as Tyler proceeded to ‘connect’ with her beloved TLC member, the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, to tell her that Left Eye wanted her to know that she’s glad none of the other eight people who were in the car with her were killed during her fatal 2002 car accident in Honduras at the age of 30.

The Red Flags About Psychic Medium’s ‘Connection’ With Left Eye

Red flag #1: That’s a beautiful message Tyler gave T-Boz. However, typically I’d try to stay neutral on the debate over the authenticity of psychic mediums, but with this cat, Tyler, there were a few red flags in the video clip you’re about to see below. The first red flag was that he started off the convo’ by pretending that he didn’t know who Left Eye was:

“You have like a weird death here coming through,” Henry tells T-Boz as he’s ‘connecting’ with Left Eye. “She’ll like, joke…this is weird, she’s doing this weird hand thing with me, she’s just being silly. She’s very, very direct. Someone might go by the nickname I’ve never heard before, a really unique one. I don’t know this one,” Tyler continued as he tried to ‘figure out’ Left Eye’s name.

Red flags #2 and #3 were that Tyler seemed unaware that Left Eye had been killed in a car accident in a foreign country…hmmm… Then he proceeded to try to ‘decode’ info he said he was getting from Left Eye about an ‘accident’:

“There is a reference to South America. She’s referencing to a car accident,” he stated. “She’s placing these two together, but she’s having me acknowledge that if this had happened in another country, this wouldn’t have happened. I wouldn’t think it would happen to me in the states. If someone is not familiar with the way that we drive in a different country and as a result we die, … had we been on the road and perfectly capable, we might have been able to manage in the United States, you know, somewhere where we might have had more control,” Tyler told T-Boz, referring to control Left Eye could have had of the vehicle on the smoother roads and lanes in the U.S..

Not to rain on anyone’s parade who truly believes in psychic mediums. I don’t know if they are real or not, so I cannot make the judgement on that. However, what I can do is call ‘foul on the play’ when I see one. Tyler Henry may be a great clairvoiyant/psychic person. However, watching him tell T-Boz a bunch of info she- and the rest of America- already knows (or can simply find out on Google), then delivering it as ‘a conversation’ he’s having with Left Eye’s spirit, I call ‘foul’ in this case. Or maybe the more appropriate description is B.S….just sayin.’

On the flip side, T-Boz clearly misses and loves her friend, Left Eye, dearly. So the best part about the video clip was seeing her be able to laugh through her pain about the funny memories she shared with her girl. Rest on Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. Gone but never forgotten.
