It’s been reported that at approximately noon Tuesday (6/11/22), Brandy suffered a possible seizure at her Los Angeles home. Paramedics were called to the location and rushed her to the hospital, where she’s been ever since. Brandy’s parents were at the hospital with her and have reportedly remained by her side, as she pushes to get back to 100% health.

Brandy’s Message To Fans About Her Health Status

“To my beloved fam, friends, and starz thank you for sending love and light my way. I am following doctors’ orders and getting the rest I need due to dehydration and low amounts of nutrition. Thank you for your prayers and support. Grateful for you all, see you soon.”

Days Earlier, Ray J, Had Scare Of His Own..Fans Were Worried

In one photo Ray J appeared to be sitting high up on either a hill, or ledge…captioning it with, “SHOULD I JUST JUMP off and end it rit. Now!!! ????”. Another of his posts read, “If it wasn’t 4 my Kidz I would jump off and die tonight.”

The Norwood fam’ was pretty radio silent about Ray J’s terrifying social media posts, but Brandy did take the time to send her brother a message online, after he’d appeared to have stop posting soon after his suicidal Instagram post went viral. “Need you bro @rayj 🙏🏽” was what Brandy wrote to her brother.

Each of Ray J’s cryptic posts have since been deleted from his page. Thankfully, he says he’s okay now…and hopefully, that is true.

Fast forward to today…and now we’re wishing Brandy a speedy recovery, but also…she should take all the time she needs to get her health realigned. Brandy, best wishes to you queen.

The New and Improved Brandy?:

Over the weekend, Brandy took the stage at the 2018 Essence Festival and once video footage started circulating online, fans expressed their surprise by the 90s singer’s new look. You’d think by now, most of her fans would be used to her new curves, but that’s not the case.

She’s no longer the thin teenager that fans remember from “Moesha”…nor is she the thin 30-something year old she was just over a year ago. Brandy is all curves now and she had no problems flaunting it at her recent show. Check out Brandy below:

‘Thicker Than A Snicker’:

The latest news follows Brandy’s statement, shutting down the pregnancy rumors. For most of 2017, Brandy was plagued with pregnancy rumors and, at one time, fans even went a step further, accusing of being a surrogate for her brother, Ray J., and his wife, Princess Love.

It might seem outlandish to some, but there was speculation. After all the drama, apparently, Brandy got tired of the B.S. and decided to share her truth: no baby, just curves. Back in May, she finally addressed all the rumors and put the pregnancy madness to rest. During a previous interview with True Exclusives, Brandy spoke about the real reason for her weight gain and clapped back at all the haters.

“It’s funny how people are telling ME that I’M pregnant. Like, first of all, you don’t know what’s going on in my stomach. You can’t do that,” said Brandy. She went on to mock a few of the outlandish rumors she’s heard. “‘Oh I know you pregnant…you pregnant! So Much Shade:

Although Brandy is obviously tired of fans shading her, it doesn’t look like she’s tired of throwin’ shade, herself. Brandy’s figure isn’t the only reason she’s makin’ headlines. Most fans were more focused on the shade she was throwing at Monica, when she took a dig at the singer onstage. The performance was going great, until Brandy left fans confused by the way she ended her performance of “The Boy Is Mine,” the hit duet she had with Monica. By now, everybody knows things went all the way left between Brandy and Monica, when it came down to the rights for the song. Apparently, Brandy felt the need to reiterate her stance because she changed the lyrics of the song to take a quick jab at Monica. She sang, “The Song Is Mine. I gotta claim what’s mine. If I don’t got the boy, I’ve got the song. You know what I’m saying?”

As footage of the performance began circulating, fans immediately went into battle mode in Monica’s defense. While many insisted Brandy should be beyond the petty drama, others argued that the song wouldn’t have been as successful without Monica and her contribution was just as significant if not more valuable than Brandy’s.

Monica has yet to respond to the drama. More than likely she won’t entertain it since this isn’t the first time she’s taken the unbothered approach to drama.

Brandy On Weight Gain vs. Pregnancy Rumor

In her interview, Brandy admitted that she’s gained a lil’ extra sumthin’- which I personally ain’t mad at one bit…looking good Ms. Norwood! But I digress…anyways, the “Sitting Up In My Room” songstress says simply put, she’s exhausted from the intense lifestyle she had to live, just to keep her previously signature slim physique in check for so many years. Therefore, Brandy said ‘to hell with it’ and let her new beautifully stacked thicky-thick body shine:

Brandy On Why She Now Claps Back At Fans Online

For most of Brandy’s decades-long career, she was presented and marketed to the public as the perfect princess, but in recent years, that image changed too. She’s now allowed her true personality to shine and although Brandy is still a classy lady, she’s also one who will clap back at a fan-hater quicker than they can say “Baby, baby, baby, bay-baaay.”

Quite frankly, all of these new elements that Brandy’s allowing to surface, are hella refreshing to witness. The plastered smiles and politically correct images get tired as hell after a while. In fact, as much as I respect Beyonce’ as the dope artist she is, I wish she would take a page outta Brandy’s book, when it comes to finally ditchin’ that picture perfect persona that’s void of personality, and start letting her hair down, allowing her true authentic self to shine in public. It’s no secret that stage Bey’s a BEAST no doubt, but in interviews, she can be a bit redundant. Ray J’s Pregnancy Announcement

“Love is on my mind. Love is in my heart. Princess and I are expecting,” said Ray J, as the audience gave him a big round of applause.

If you tuned in to season 4 of Love & Hip Hop, then you witnessed the newlyweds chronicling their fertility struggles on the show. For a while, Ray J thought he had a low sperm count, until going to a doctor, during the show’s filming, to get his ‘swimmers’ tested. Turned out, he didn’t have a low sperm count and he and Princess continued to try to get pregnant.

Eventually, they had success and once they hit the end of their first trimester, Ray J and Princess were both ready to confirm the news to the world. Although Ray J confirmed his on television, Princess opted to do so online, but not before checkin’ their L&HH co-star, Moniece Slaughter.

The Brandy Drama

After Ray J broke the news, Moniece took to Instagram to respond to a fan’s question about Princess’ and Ray J’s pregnancy. In addition to simply answering the question, Moniece also further sparked the rumor that many have wondered about Brandy’s new thick-a-licious frame. The fan asked Ms. Slaughter, “Is Brandy the surrogate [?] Because I wish they’d just say she’s pregnant already.” The L&HH star, never one to filter her words, replied, “Yes. I already told y’all she was.”

After seeing Moniece’s claims, Princess Love decided to hit back with  a few jabs of her own. First Princess showed off a photo of her baby bump (which many still denounced as her simply being bloated and what-not), with a caption that read:

“It’s such a blessing from God to be able to carry our child. We kept this to ourselves until after the first trimester because it’s bad luck to announce too early. But we’re so proud to share this journey with you guys. Thank you for all of the love and prayers ❤️”

They’re Stars!

Patti and Brandy are STARS! As in, Lee Daniels’ hit Fox show, Star. They’ve just signed on to join the cast, alongside Queen Latifah, P. Diddy’s son (and Al B. Sure’s) son, Quincy Brown, and many others:

Via Deadline: Patti LaBelle and Brandy Norwood are the latest musical stars set for multi-episode arcs on Fox’s hit music drama series Star. LaBelle will play Carlotta Brown’s (Queen Latifah) tough but loving mother, Christine; and Norwood will play Carlotta’s younger sister, Cassie. Both characters will be introduced this spring.

There have also been many other popular names on the show, including Tyrese, Kelly Price, Gladys Knight, and the list goes on. So it’s gonna be cool to see the recurring roles that Patti and Brandy will play. If any of our fellow old schoolers aren’t familiar with Star, the show is centered around three singers who have some struggles in their lives and show covers some deep topics.

Patti hasn’t shared any news about joining the cast, but Brandy couldn’t wait to hop on Instagram and share the news in a video message to her fans. She’s hella excited, understandably so:

Overall, it’s a beautiful thing to see Patti LaBelle still being able to do what she loves after 57 years in the music industry! It’s also wonderful that Brandy -whom we’ve watched transform from a child to a woman before our eyes- is still gracing stages and TV screens. Y’all know ‘the ex-child star curse’ is real, so it’s but Brandy has maintained her sanity and didn’t succumb to it.

The 1996 classic film, “Set It Off,” had us all rooting for the underdogs. Despite the fact that the ladies were bank robbers, they were 4 friends from the hood of Los Angeles trying to make it. It’s a story of friendship that starred Queen Latifah, Vivica A. Fox, Kimberly Elise, and Jada Pinkett- Smith. Their chemistry and acting skills were so believable, that at one point, you forgot you were watching a movie. Each lady seemed perfect for their role, but surprisingly, Kimberly Elise was not the first choice for her role as “T.T.”

Fans were first introduced to then veteran actress, Elise, in the classic film, when she played the character of “Tisean ‘T.T.’ Williams.  T.T.” was the struggling single mother who would do anything to provide for her son, even if that meant robbing a bank. In the movie, she reluctantly joined the plan to rob banks, but signed on after child-protective services took her child. Elise sent chills down our spines when the tears rolled down her cheeks and she boldly stood up to Vivica’s Fox’s character, “Frankie.”

Although she was new to the acting game, Kimberly acting skills were reflective of a veteran actress, because she did a helluva job as “T.T.” As we mentioned earlier, Elise was not the first choice for the role of “T.T.”  However, the role was originally written for a young, Black singer who’d already experienced commercial success in the R&B world, but was transitioning into the acting world. Who Was Supposed To Play “T.T.?”

Brandy had dreams of being  a movie star, but she has said “no” to a few choice roles, most notably a part in the hit shoot-’em-up drama “Set It Off.” Brandy was offered the role of “T.T.,” but she turned it down. At that time, Brandy had an image to protect and she felt like playing a bank robber would send a negative message to her fans. While Brandy didn’t star in the movie, she did bless us with her musical vocal skills on the soundtrack with the song, “Missing You.” I wonder if Brandy now regrets not being a part of a cult classic like “Set It Off,” now though.

Anywho, lucky for us, Brandy turned down the role and Elise stepped in and created magic on the screen. From there, Elise continued to deliver Oscar worthy performances in films such as “Beloved,” followed by Elise playing the lead for the television film, “The Loretta Claiborne Story,” where she played the mentally and physically disabled athlete who made a name for herself by overcoming obstacles in her life. Overall, Elise has proven that she’s a talented actress with the abilities to play a range of characters. I’m a fan of both Brandy and Elise, but I think most of us “Set It Off” fans are thankful that Brandy turned down the role of “T.T.”  Not only did it give us the opportunity to see the impeccable talents of Kimberly Elise, but after seeing the movie, there’s no other actress we could ever imagine in that role.

Brandy has had a wild three to four weeks and based on her most recent moves, (which you’re about to see), fans are starting to wonder if she and her boyfriend/rapper, Sir the Baptist, are pulling a publicity stunt, or simply living a roller coaster ride of a life at the moment.

Brandy’s Past Issues

Pregnancy rumor…
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen Brandy get publicly congratulated by her former Moesha cast member, Countess Vaughn, on her ‘new pregnancy,’ only for Brandy to immediately shut that rumor down and make it known that she was NOT pregnant.

Regardless of what Brandy said though, many of fans viewed her recent Instagram photos- where she appeared to have a very tiny ‘tummy bump’- as “proof” that she was pregnant no matter what she denied. Was that deflection of something that she wasn’t wiling to share with the public? Who knows.

Then soon after the pregnant rumors, Brandy was found unconscious on a Delta Airlines flight and later released a statement saying she’d passed out from “exhaustion.” Her brother, Ray J., also repeated that same claim. Again, fans were skeptical and felt there was more to it that Brandy wasn’t revealing. Some feared drug usage, while others still speculated pregnancy issues.

Now, few days ago, was her sudden deletion and rant. She and her boyfriend, Sir the Baptist have been posting lovey dovey photos of each other all over their social media pages for the past few months and their fans were very happy for them. However after Brandy deleted ALL remnants of Sir from her pages, then posted a couple cursed word laced, angry girlfriend posts about being played by someone (without specifying who she was referring to), it seemed as though she was cursing out Sir. To add fuel to the fire, on that same day, Sir posted a video message of his own about letting a woman (whom he referred to interchangeably as God) go because her fans need her. Now comes this…

We said all this to say that sometimes the real life reality show that are the lives of celebs can be an illusion, or better yet: a scripted series that we may not even realize we’re watching, until they make a suspect move and the red flags are raised as a result.

At any rate, it’s great that Brandy has seemed to finally find TRUE love because Lawd knows she’s had a few too many failed attempts with very public relationships. If this one doesn’t work out (hopefully it does though), we suggest she goes underground with the next relationship, until they’ve reached the three or four year mark or so. FYI: Typically we hate to assume, but sometimes if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, you just gotta go with it…because it just might be a DUCK. Brandy Norwood is back like she never left and we couldn’t be MORE happier for her! Earlier this month (June 2017) she had a crazy health scare when she was found unconscious on a Delta Airlines flight and had to be rushed to the hospital. Her camp then released a statement informing her fans that she was simply ‘exhausted.’ Some fans felt there was more to her story that wasn’t being revealed and they may or may not have a point. But nevertheless, it’s Brandy’s personal business, so if there is more, she sure doesn’t owe us an explanation.

Fast forward to today though and Brandy is performing with ease. Last night at her show, rapper, Common stepped on stage to give her a cool serenade. He spit some bars while she sat on a stool happy as a kid in a candy store over it. In the middle of his performance he gave her an affectionate hug and kiss on the cheek.

Pretty sure Brandy’s man/rapper, Sir the Baptist, was somewhere watching though, LOL. Y’all know Common has a way with the ladies…he’s like that cool ‘male friend’ that seems to eventually find away to slide into next level ‘boo status.’ Next thing you know, he’s dating the celeb’ who was just his homegirl about a week ago…I joke I joke I kid I kid! The following statement has now been posted to Brandy’s Twitter page, stating that she “has been released from the hospital and is now at home resting” and that her falling unconscious on the airplane was the result of “stress” and exhaustion from traveling “more than 10 long haul flights, including internationally” in recent days. Via TMZ: Brandy Norwood fell into unconsciousness on a Delta flight that was about to take off … and paramedics rushed to the scene to administer help … TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell us Brandy was on a Delta flight early Friday from LAX to JFK. Before the plane pulled out of the gate Brandy lost consciousness and passengers and flight attendants scrambled to help her.

We’re told Delta contacted the L.A. City Fire Dept. and paramedics arrived quickly and removed Brandy from the plane. We’re told she regained full consciousness while she was being treated on the jetway. Our sources say Brandy was stable and taken to the hospital. Story developing …

Brandy is a committed vegan, who lives a very healthy lifestyle. So her sudden illness comes as a surprise to many of her fans. Typically she’s like the clean bill of health and is also very active and physically fit. But this just goes to show that no one’s exempt from getting ill every now and then…it happens to all of us.
