By the way, new reports have surfaced, that shortly before his passing on June 9, 2019, Bushwick Bill had secretly relocated from a Houston, TX hospital, to a Colorado holistic healing facility. The reason was reportedly due to the alternative medicine and cleaner air he chose to receive, after Houston doctors warned that he may encounter an infection if he’d remained hospitalized at the Houston hospital.

His family is said to have told the media he was being treated at the Houston hospital, after he’d already arrived at the Colorado facility, due to privacy wishes…understandably so. Rest on Bushwick Bill.

He was battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer at the time of his death, and was surrounding by his family upon his transition from this earth. Now, his son has spoken out to share what Bushwick’s final message was.

Son Speaks Out…
According to Bushwick Bill’s son, Javon, as his father lay on his death bed, he wanted to make sure his family knew one thing:

Bushwick Bill’s final words were from his deathbed were, “I will love you forever.”

Daughter’s Prior Conflicting Death Report That Set The Record Straight…
Early Sunday, there were conflicting reports over Bushwick Bill’s death. By that afternoon, the news about his passing was trending on social media, after the legendary UGK rapper, Bun B, announced Bushwick’s passing at approximately 12 noon, with the following message:

“He was, is and will always be a legend. God bless his soul and his family. There will never be another. RIP Bushwick Bill.”

Bushwick’s daughter, then refuted that statement and seemed very upset that “industry” people were trying to “write” her Dad off before his time.

According to Bushwick’s daughter at that time, her father was still “fighting for his life” and in need of prayer. She also declared that “Certain people have been so quick to write him off as dead so they can capitalize off it.”

Bushwick Bill Was A Fighter Until The End…
It was just on May 24, 2019, that we reported Bushwick’s quest to live, as he fought to beat stage 4 cancer. It was during that time, he also announced that no unnecessary negative vibes were allowed in his life. That’s why he’d decided to derail the Geto Boys Reunion tour one day before he and group members, Scarface and Willie D, were scheduled to begin on Friday (May 25, 2019).

According to Bushwick, his cancellation had nothing to do with his group members, but everything to do with the name of the tour, which he believes was designed to profit off of his cancer battle.

When it comes to true legends of hip hop, especially of the Southern variety, you need look no further than Houston’s own Geto Boys, which consists of iconic lyricists Scarface, Willie D and Bushwick Bill. Though all three have gone onto varying degrees of success Bushwick Bill has long been a fan favorite with his slick rhyme scheme, diminutive size and larger-than-life personality. But in a tragic twist of fate Bushwick has relayed some very devastating news to his fans after a long period of silence. Bushwick is currently battling Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

The Geto Boys are all pioneers of hip hop, especially when it comes to their timeless classic “My Mind’s Playing Tricks On Me” where the three of them weave a haunting tale that concludes with Bushwick’s terrifying final verse.

Bushwick has always been very open about the struggles he’s endured in his life. A 1991 domestic argument involving Everclear grain alcohol, PCP and a gun caused him to be rushed to the hospital before losing an eye, which the Geto Boys famously used as the cover of their 1991 studio album “We Can’t Be Stopped”

Hot New Hip Hop reports (via TMZ) that Bushwick opened up about his diagnosis, which he received back in February, in a video and was very honest about what was relayed to him when the discovery was made.

“We see a mass on your pancreas and we can’t understand because it’s not alcohol, it’s not sugar, it’s not diabetes,” he said as he recalled what his doctors initially told him. “They went through all kinds of stuff. And finally, by February 8, it was stage 4 pancreatitis cancer…I’ve been getting tested and they said it was a mass and they said it was benign. Does benign mean it could be cancer?” he said he asked the specialists. “And he was like, ‘It’s just a mass with no purpose.’ It was just crazy to find out that pancreatic cancer is undetected until it’s in the fourth or fifth stage.”

We can’t think of 80’s/90’s hip hop, without reminiscin’ about the days of The Geto Boys. Bushwick Bill, Scarface, and Willie D were one of the first rap groups to put the south on the map in the hip hop world. One of my personal favorites was their classic hit, “My Mind Is Playing Tricks On Me.” Ironically, after seeing Bushwick Bill’s son, I thought MY mind was playing tricks on ME, because he is the splitting image of his legendary pops.
