We all remember when singer, Chante Moore and actor, Kadeem Hardison a.k.a. “Dwayne-Wayne” from Different World, were married right? If you didn’t know, they secretly married in 1997 and ultimately got divorced in 2000, but their union produced a beautiful daughter in 1996.

We just so happened to come across some photos of Kadeem Hardison’s mother, former supermodel Bethann Hardison, with a young lady who looked a lot like her, and we were all like ‘Well we know she’s not her daughter, so who is she?’ After looking a little closer at the pic, we realized she is Kadeem’s and Chante’s lil’ girl, except she isn’t so ‘lil’ anymore.

See what we mean?!! Her name is Sophia Hardison and she’s a 25-year-old beautiful young lady, who looks exactly like her Daddy and her Mom!

Her parents, Chante and Kadeem, never rekindled their relationship as far as we know, but they still have a beautiful friendship, as was displayed on Chante’s reality TV show, R&B Divas, some years ago and they’re also doing a great job co-parenting.

The daughter/mommy duo seem to be so much alike. It’s a beautiful thing to see exes, Chante and Kadeem, still maintaining their closely knit friendship after so many years.

And there you have it folks, just in case you needed a quick reminder of just how fast time flies by, here it is. These kids seemed to have grown overnight!

If you’ve ever watched BET’s shows at some point, chances are you’ve either seen or heard of the network’s former executive, Stephen Hill. He was Head of Programming at the BET Network for many years, and he resigned in 2017.

How They Shared The News With Fans

Many fans were caught off guard when Chante Moore first took to Instagram on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, to reveal that she’s now officially engaged to Stephen. Most of us had no clue the two were even dating.

Chante shared a photo of she and Stephen Hill on a boat, celebrating his 60th birthday. In her post, she wrote a touching message about their love:

I’m happier than the morning sun
and that’s the way you said that it would be… If I should ever bring you inside my life…

All my life I was alone,
Didn’t think I’d find my part,
Now I see my joy’s inside your arms.

Every day I searched for the star,

All of these years have gone by and either we were living under a rock, or it just flew right over our heads that Kadeem Hardison a.k.a. “Dwayne-Wayne” from It’s A Different World and his popular co-star were in a VERY serious relationship for a while back then. In recent years, both of them have publicly confirmed this.

Who Was Kadeem Superstar Girlfriend?

It’s Cree Summer a.k.a. “Freddie!” Did you think it was going to be Jasmine Guy? If so, that’s understandable because her character, “Whitley Gilbert,” connected so well with her on-screen love “Dwayne-Wayne,” that she would have seemed like the obvious choice, but NOPE it’s the actress who played the flower child type college student on the show.

None of us over here had a clue that just like that Billy Paul song, Cree and Kadeem had a thing going on and a serious thing at that- they were together for a year and based on all of the pics we found in our research, they were apparently joined at the hip during their year of dating bliss. We have shots of them out everywhere together in the public’s eye, so how did we miss this back in the day, is beyond me…LOL. Cree even posted this up on her Instagram page a little over a month ago…

A few years ago, Hardison confirmed to Essence Magazine, that he and Cree dated:

Kadeem, was it awkward being Jasmine’s love interest even though you were dating Cree Summer during the show?
HARDISON: That wasn’t even my concern at the time. Dominic [Hoffman], Jasmine’s boyfriend at the time, did some spots on the show. It’s like you have your work wife and home wife. But your home wife also happens to work with you. As much as that could have been sticky, they were so in love with each, it was never an issue. Good God, if you thought me and Darryl were close, he and Jasmine were inseparable. They brought out the silliness in each other.

Cree also had this to say when People asked her about Kadeem:

[Kadeem is a] “gentle, gentle man. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him.”

Of course Kadeem’s and Cree’s relationship was before Kadeem married “Chante’s Got A Man” singer, Chante Moore, of R&B Divas.

Kadeem and Chante’ are now divorced, but they’re still very close friends, and have a gorgeous 24 year old daughter named Sophia. Check her out HERE.

“A Different World” Friendships

Kadeem also said that he and Cree are still friends today and that there were also other types of on-screen relationships that were and still are very real in real-life. For example, just like on the show, Kadeem and Darryl Bell, who played his best friend/roommate, “Ron Johnson” on It’s A Different World are like best friends to this very day. Here’s what Kadeem said when asked which of his co-stars he still talks to:

Darryl Bell… with him every day or every other day we talk. He and I have always, from the day we met, argued over our knowledge of sports. There aren’t too many days that go by when him and I don’t talk. Me and Cree, we still talk. I see Lisa every now and then. She lives close by, we’re still neighbors.

Cree is also best friends with one her former co-stars. She and Lisa Bonet are extremely close and Cree’s been quoted as stating that she and Lisa are “like sisters.”

Kenny Jr. was born in 2002, during his parents’ marriage, which lasted from 2000 to 2011. Unfortunately, they went through a nasty custody battle and Chante revealed that Kenny was trying to gain full custody of Jr.. We’re not sure of the outcome, but for Kenny Jr.’s sake, we hope it worked out in his best interest.

What’s Chante Up To These Days?

Nowadays, Chante is currently promoting her latest album, “The Rise of the Phoenix,” and she chopped it up with Rolling Out about it:

My album is about love, travel and relationships. Chante Moore was well on her way to getting back in the music game with her new album but now it appears her new project may have hit a snag. According to The Blast, the R&B Divas: Los Angeles star is accused of using fraudulent funds to produce her new album, The Rise of the Phoenix. Then, to make matters worse, it has been reported that Chante used the funds, which are said to have come from a “criminal enterprise,” despite knowing the funds were illegal. There are also claims that the money was used to “artificially inflate” album sales in hopes of revitalizing the singer’s career.  It’s a sticky situation, but the details are enough to have you wondering what’s really going on.

$3.6 Million Gone:

The publication claims the 90s R&B singer is embroiled in a “complicated fraud and racketeering case.” The report on the allegations goes on to detail claims from the two men involved. The men, whose names have not been released, claim they were swindled out of $3.6 million. The guys believe they were ripped off because Chante allegedly used the funds for numerous purposes, including payments for personal debts.

Here’s an excerpt from the report:

The guys who were ripped off claim their money was used to open a hair bar in Georgia, buy a house, and (as odd as this might sound) support Moore’s career. In their lawsuit, the two men claim the defendants used some of their money to buy Moore plane tickets for her musical tour, lavish her with gifts, fund the production of and marketing campaign for her seventh album, “The Rise of the Phoenix,” and even to “pay off her significant personal debt.”

Denying All Allegations:

Since Chante Moore is also accused of inflating her record sales with iTunes purchases, the men claim they should be entitled to the profits of her album. A judge has yet to rule in the case, but if Chante Moore is found at fault, she could be forced to pay back millions of dollars. The singer has adamantly denied the allegations and she’s requesting that the case is dismissed.

One Thing They CANNOT Accuse Chante Moore Of

They may be accusing Chante Moore of fraud, but one thing they cannot accuse her of is not being 50 and still FINE as hell! Singer/former R&B Diva, Chante’ Moore, was married to “For You” singer, Kenny Lattimore for nine years. They jumped the broom on January 1, 2002 in Jamaica and unfortunately things didn’t work out, so they ended up divorcing in 2011.

Their divorce was a nasty one and we got to witness some of the aftermath of it on national TV, as Chante discussed it during her time on the reality show, R&B Divas, a few years ago.

Their Son, K.J. Now…

Kenny and Chante probably can’t quite stand to be around each other for long periods of time, without bitter feelings coming up. But the blessing they both will forever be grateful for- in regards to their prior union- is their 14 year old son, K.J., who just made his parents tremendously happy for his graduation in early June (2017). It’s a beautiful thing to see the three of them smiling these days because it wasn’t that long ago (in 2015) that Kenny was on The Tom Joyner Morning Show putting Chante’ all the way on blast over how she’s parenting their son. Apparently he had a major problem with Chante’ publicly revealing, on R&B Divas, that she was very hurt by the fact that he was taking her to court to try to gain full custody over their son. Kenny also expressed, in his interview, that he does not approve of her discussing matters involving their child with the public, out of fear it may do more harm, than good to their son:

Kenny on Chante’ starring on R&B Divas: “I really thought that whole thing was a mistake. It was reckless and it was irresponsible to me and it heart a lot of people. It hurt my son and I just…I’m not a big fan of that at all.”

TJ: Is that why you all broke up?

Kenny: “No, that reality show came like two, three years ago. I think that you know, people get into relationships and feel like they have the things that they need and maybe they really don’t and maybe they haven’t dealt with their own issues and who they are.”
