ILOSM family, as we previously reported, we lost a true legend on Sunday, June 9, 2019.  Geto Boys rapper, Bushwick Bill, passed away at the age of 52. He was battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer at the time of his death, and was surrounding by his family upon his transition from this earth. Now, his son has spoken out to share what Bushwick’s final message was.

Son Speaks Out…
According to Bushwick Bill’s son, Javon, as his father lay on his death bed, he wanted to make sure his family knew one thing:

Bushwick Bill’s final words were from his deathbed were, “I will love you forever.”

Daughter’s Prior Conflicting Death Report That Set The Record Straight…
Early Sunday, there were conflicting reports over Bushwick Bill’s death. By that afternoon, the news about his passing was trending on social media, after the legendary UGK rapper, Bun B, announced Bushwick’s passing at approximately 12 noon, with the following message:

“He was, is and will always be a legend. God bless his soul and his family. There will never be another. RIP Bushwick Bill.”

Bushwick’s daughter, then refuted that statement and seemed very upset that “industry” people were trying to “write” her Dad off before his time.

According to Bushwick’s daughter at that time, her father was still “fighting for his life” and in need of prayer. She also declared that “Certain people have been so quick to write him off as dead so they can capitalize off it.”

Bushwick Bill Was A Fighter Until The End…
It was just on May 24, 2019, that we reported Bushwick’s quest to live, as he fought to beat stage 4 cancer. It was during that time, he also announced that no unnecessary negative vibes were allowed in his life. That’s why he’d decided to derail the Geto Boys Reunion tour one day before he and group members, Scarface and Willie D, were scheduled to begin on Friday (May 25, 2019).

According to Bushwick, his cancellation had nothing to do with his group members, but everything to do with the name of the tour, which he believes was designed to profit off of his cancer battle.

In April 2019, Bushwick asked Scarface and Willie D to do the tour with him, suggesting that they meet up to discuss details after his then upcoming doctor’s appointment. Sadly, that doctor’s visit is when the rap star learned he had stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Like a true warrior though, Bushwick Bill still vowed to go through with the reunion tour. That was before the organizers disrespected him, by glorifying his illness, according to Bushwick.

After Bushwick publicly revealed his cancer diagnosis, the tour’s organizers reportedly changed the Geto Boys reunion tour name to “The Beginning of A Long Goodbye: The Final Farewell.”

Bushwick- I didn’t like the title. Simple. It didn’t speak life into my situation, but instead promoted the idea of impending death. We can’t think of 80’s/90’s hip hop, without reminiscin’ about the days of The Geto Boys. Bushwick Bill, Scarface, and Willie D were one of the first rap groups to put the south on the map in the hip hop world. One of my personal favorites was their classic hit, “My Mind Is Playing Tricks On Me.” Ironically, after seeing Bushwick Bill’s son, I thought MY mind was playing tricks on ME, because he is the splitting image of his legendary pops.

Recap of Why Willie D Is Speaking Out About Ginuwine Amidst Backlash

By the way, if y’all missed the online ruckus Ginuwine’s refusal caused, here’s a quick recap of that fiasco:
A few days ago, Ginuwine appeared on the reality show Celebrity Big Brother UK. One of the other Big Brother celebs is a transgender woman named, India Willoughby. During a discussion Ginuwine, Willoughby and other Big Brother house guests were having during a live taping of the show, Willoughby propositioned Ginuwine to give her a kiss. Of course, Ginuwine- a heterosexual man- was like ‘Uh…hell to the naw,’ but in the politest way possible. However, as a result, Willoughby became offended that Ginuwine did not want to kiss her.

The aftermath of Ginuwine’s refusal to kiss a transgender woman garnered mixed reviews online: Most Ginuwine fans felt that he had every right to refuse to kiss a transgender woman, because Ginuwine is a straight man. While there were some people who actually slammed the hell outta Ginuwine and went as far as to call the brotha a transphobic for refusing to compromise his sexuality to make Willoughby feel comfortable in her’s.

Willie D’s Video Message Holds Up A Hardcore Mirror To Ginuwine’s Opposers

Now, Willie D is letting the world know that he is ridin’ with Ginuwine all day on this one. In a recent Instagram video (shown at bottom of page), Willie D explicitly voiced his opinion on Willloughby’s sexual advance toward Ginuwine and he saluted Ginuwine for standing his ground on the matter:

Willie D first started off his video message by saying, “News flash: No matter how much surgery you have, makeup you use, or how you feel inside, every cell in your body’s either XX or XY chromosome. There are no exceptions to this rule.”

He then got waaaay more real and made an interesting point about sexual assault and transphobia versus what he refers to as, ‘hetero-phobia’

“They’ll have you believe that if you have a sexual preference that discriminates against transgender men or transgender women, that you’re transphobic. So if I try to kiss a lesbian woman and she refused, is it cool to call her hetero-phobic? It wouldn’t matter because my Black a$$ would be locked up in jail for sexual assault.”
