According to Rock- who divorced his wife in 2016- his encounter with Rihanna happened sometime after he’d cracked a joke about not being “invited” to Rihanna’s “panties” during his 2016 Oscar’s monologue.

“After my divorce was final, I was at a party and I saw Rihanna,” Rock said during his “Tamborine” stand-up. “I was like, ‘OK, let’s start this again. Let me say what’s up,’ right? … And I’m like, ‘How you doing, Rihanna?’”

This is where it gets comical, because Rock revealed that Rihanna made him feel old as dirt. After a long 5-second pause, Rock looked at his audience and asked: “Do you ever forget how old you are? … Rihanna looked at me like I was one of her aunts,” Rock said. “She didn’t even register me as a d***-carrying member of society. Like, I would have had an easier time f***ing Aretha Franklin.”

In his memoir, “Sing To Me: My Story of Making Music, Finding Magic, and Searching For Who’s Next,” L.A. Reid revealed details about the horrible time in his former artist, Rihanna’s life, after she and Chris Brown went through their domestic dispute in 2009. He talked about how he and Rihanna had formed a close relationship and how she appeared at his home to duck the media and try to put the pieces of her career and personal life back together again.

Here is what L.A. detailed about he and Rihanna’s relationship and the crazy aftermath that followed in an excerpt from his book:

“Our relationship really blossomed after “Umbrella.” Rihanna started coming to my office and we would discuss her follow-up…

I was sitting around my new house in the Hamptons with a couple of my A&R people, smoking some weed and listening to the new Rihanna album in the final stages. When we heard the song “Good Girl Gone Bad,” I knew I had found the title for her album. I had no idea how ironic that would become…

She was set to perform at the Grammys in February 2009. The producer of the show reached me in my suite at the Beverly Hills Hotel the day before the Grammys. Rihanna had not showed for the rehearsal, he told me. The next phone call came from a publicist who worked for us. “Rihanna just had a car accident,” she said. “That’s all I can tell you right now, but she’s in the hospital.”

As it turned out it wasn’t a car accident, it was her incident with Chris Brown. I never knew much more about what happened than the public did. The details were kept from me. I saw the photos of her battered face the same time everybody else did. I managed to get through to Rihanna at the hospital, but it was a brief conversation. I was able to voice some concern, which I hoped was comforting, but I felt helpless. She was in bad shape and embarrassed, and didn’t want any visitors. All this was happening in her life at the point where she was moving beyond simply being a pop star with some hits into a lady the world cared about. It was tragic.

L.A. said he finally got a call from Rihanna and this is what happened next:

Several weeks later, her manager called to say Rihanna was coming to New York and wanted to see me, which somewhat surprised me. The fact that she was making my house her first stop in New York showed me that apparently our relationship was stronger than I had realized. It wasn’t until then that I saw just how close we’d become.

She flew into town on a private jet, but the paparazzi still found her. She came straight to my apartment and they swarmed outside my building. I didn’t ask her too much about what happened. We talked mostly about what her next career step would be. I ordered some Caribbean food and we listened to music. I played her a couple of demos, but there wasn’t a lot of talk — most of our communication was telepathic. My only advice to her was to turn to music — it sounded cliché but that was what had gotten me through dark times. She stayed for hours. She already had her own A&R team — which I wasn’t part of, although I was the head of the company. We decided to start working together more.

She had stayed at my house so long, I was late for a meeting with Bon Jovi at a private club up the street. I delicately extricated myself and told her to feel free to stay at my house after I left. Later, Erica told me she stayed another couple of hours.

Sometimes an artist needs help making art, sometimes an artist needs help making a hit, and sometimes an artist just needs help.”

L.A. Reid couldn’t have ended it on a more precise note- just like we always say, here at ILoveOldSchoolMusic: entertainers may oftentimes appear larger than life, but the reality is that they are not without flaws, they’re simply perfectly flawed human beings who sometimes need help, just like the rest of us. It’s a beautiful thing that L.A. was able to be the support system that Rihanna needed at that time. Both she and Chris were very young adults then and hopefully they’ve been able to grow and learn from that terrible incident.

The Original Queen Bee of the Mic & Fashion

Lots of Artist have been showstoppers with unique looks, gracing our red carpets for years. But before there was Lady Gaga, Kim K, JLO and Katy Perry making jaws drop on the red carpet…there was the “Queen Bee,” Lil Kim.

The 44-year-old rap star has been referred to as the Muva to the new generation of female rappers. They have been inspired lyrically and let’s face it…when it comes to Kim’s fashion choices too.

Over the years fans and celebrities alike have paid tribute to Lil Kims style and fashion. Beyoncé expressed her love for the rapper’s fashion with a tribute photo shoot replicating some of her best looks. “Hip Hop would not be the same without our Original Queen Bee,” the Coachella singer wrote on her Instagram.

Then there was Rihanna, who channeled her fashion icon by wearing all-green Versace at the iHeart Radio Awards in 2015. It actually inspired her whole outfit she wore during her “B**tch Betta Have My Money” performance.

“There are a lot of nineties supermodels that I love and I’m inspired by—but Lil’ Kim, for me, she had so many different looks,” said the pop star to Vogue.

Then there’s Cardi B has recognized the style icon, paying homage to her fashion influence for her “Money” video.

“All of the looks were inspired by some of Lil’ Kim‘s looks. Cardi definitely pays homage to Lil Kim in the video which is cool about her,” costume designer Laurel DeWitt told Hollywood Life in December 2018.

Many stars have paid tribute to the notorious rapper, who has not only dominated many high-end fashion brands. She also brought attention to up-and-coming labels who peaked in popularity thanks to her mentioning them in her lyrical rhymes.

We Still Pay Tribute!

It’s amazing how the world has acknowledged and paid tribute to the Queen all of these year. Yet sadly, Lil Kim has been left out when it comes to receiving the accolades she deserves. She was the first to bridge the gap between rappers and the fashion world.

Recently, Jennifer Lopez was named the 2019 recipient of CDFA’s “Fashion Icon Award,” and Twitter erupted with disappointment that the “Queen Bee” has yet to be acknowledged.

As if Rihanna’s relationship with her father, Ronald Fenty, wasn’t already strained enough, he’s just made it worse with his latest response to his daughter’s claims against him.

This drama started in January 2019, when Rihanna was forced to file a lawsuit against her Pops for exploiting the hell outta her name, likeness, and her Fenty brands. She exposed her dad for pulling multi-million dollar scams through a company he and a man named Moses Perkins created, called Fenty Entertainment. “Although Mr. Fenty is Rihanna’s father, he does not have, and never has had, authority to act on Rihanna’s behalf,” stated her lawsuit.

Now Rihanna’s dad has just responded, in court docs, to her claims and he’s denying everything.

Via The Blast: Ronald Fenty and his company claim they did not exploit Rihanna’s image and believe she has suffered no damages as a result of him trying to run his own business.

Ronald…believes he has every right to use the name and doesn’t need his daughter’s permission on such matters. “Defendants deny that their use of “Fenty” requires authorization from Plaintiffs,” the document reads. Rihanna’s father now wants the lawsuit dismissed right away and believes he owes his daughter no money or caused any damage.

First Rihanna hit him with a lawsuit, now another public figure is pretty much telling Ronald Fenty (65), he ‘betta have my money.’

So, Who’s Suing Papa Fenty Now?
Popular Youtube star, Chef Henny (real name Harvey Justice), has hired an attorney to let Ronald Fenty have it for scammin’ him. According to TMZ, Henny’s attorney, Alex Spiro, has just sent a letter to RiRi’s Pops, stating that Ronald stuck him for his paper on several occasions.

Apparently, Ronald Fenty lied to Chef Henny back in April 2018, when he signed him to a reportedly fraudulent entertainment company, called Fenty Entertainment. The reason Chef Henny was obviously persuaded to sign on the dotted line in the first place, is because he says Ronald told him that his daughter, Rihanna, played a ‘central role in the company.’ However, according to the legal claim, that was a lie and Rihanna has absolutely nothing to do with the company and she’s even suing her Pops for a similar reason, but we’ll get to that in a sec.’

Now, here’s where the actual scam comes in regarding the money:

Via TMZ: Harvey says he trusted Ronald so he signed with him back in April 2018 and was promised a $750k marketing budget but says he’s only gotten $50k. Where’s the rest? Harvey claims Ronald keeps telling him it’s being held up by a South American investor. The chef says he wants what he was promised plus additional damages … or else.

Why Pop Fans Mad?

Lil’ Dicky is a White rapper, known for doing comical songs that cater to the pop music audience. His latest single, “Freaky Friday,” features Chris Brown and is actually kinda clever.  The concept of the song/video (above, contains graphic language), is that Lil’ Dicky wishes he more like a ‘cool, Black music artist, such as Brown,’ and he gets granted his wish, to swap identities with Brown for a day.

Pop fans are now pissed because they don’t think Dicky should’ve worked with Brown, due to Brown’s 2009 domestic violence fight with his then girlfriend, Rihanna. That’s where Shawn Stockman comes in…

The Boyz II Men crooner says fans need to move forward, like Chris Brown (28) has done ever since making that horrible decision at age 19. When Shawn Stockman was asked, his thoughts on the video backlash and if he thought it was time for folks to forgive Brown, he replied:

Chris Brown Gives Surprising Details About Fight w/Rihanna

As we previously reported, Brown’s recent Netflix documentary, “Chris Brown: Welcome To My Life,” was an eye opener. The world got to see Chris in a whole new light, as he discussed previously unknown details of what really went down the night he brutally beat Rihanna and ended up in jail. Turns out, although Brown did an extremely horrific thing that no man should EVER do, he’s now displayed a new level of maturity and character many didn’t know he had.
Brown Made No Excuses
In the documentary, Chris didn’t try to paint a pretty picture of what happened in the car fight that night. He admitted he punched Rihanna with a closed fist, left a knot on her head, and busted her lip. In detailing how that all transpired, he also revealed that because he ‘loved and still loves’ Rihanna, he wanted to “protect her” for the part she played in their fight.

It started after Rihanna went into a jealous rage, thinking Chris was still messing around with his former employee. In order to prove he was not, Chris volunteered to let Rihanna go through his phone and check a text message from the woman. Although there was no indication they had anything going on anymore, Rihanna didn’t believe him. So, as Chris was driving them home from the Clive Davis pre-Grammy party, Rihanna started punching, kicking, and scratching him in the face and head first.

Brown was yelling at her, to get her to stop. As he was still driving, he said Rihanna then grabbed his testicles really hard and wouldn’t let go. That’s when he flipped out and punched her in the face. She then threw his phone out of the window, he then pulled over and they were crying, arguing, and trading blows by then. Then Chris says he just stopped and was crying, telling her he didn’t want to do that to her anymore. He gave her the keys, said he would walk home, and told her to drive herself back home. As he was getting his bag out of the trunk and preparing to walk off, she started screaming ‘Help, he’s trying to kill me!’ out of the window and he couldn’t believe it.

Why He Never Revealed This?
Chris says he never came forward with this info until now, because he knows he was also wrong and never wanted to blame Rihanna, nor hurt her reputation. So he immediately pled guilty and never brought it up in court to try to get lesser punishment. He spent 90 days in the ‘hole’ in prison, and didn’t get off probation until 2013. Now it explains why Rihanna eventually pushed for him to get lesser punishment- because she too played a part in it.

The event was held at Landmark Rooms where guests enjoyed the four-course meal prepared by The Grill.
