Starting out in showbiz is rarely ever easy. Michael Ealy starkly remembers, as a newbie, what it was like to work with Chris Rock at his peak. “He was just an a**hole.”

According to Ealy, he started his career in New York. He was waiting tables and bombed an audition for Bad Company, a movie with Chris Rock and Anthony Hopkins.

However, in an interview with Chicago Tribune, Michael Ealy mentions that — although he didn’t get the auditioned-for role — the movie director liked his vibe and wrote a part specifically for him.

And it placed Michael right alongside Chris, as his “best friend.” Yet, Rock’s attitude toward Ealy would prove to be completely, ironically the contrary.

“Everything went well…But Chris Rock was a little cold. He was probably at the height of his career at this point and I idolized him — I had watched all his stuff and thought he was so funny and I really respected him — but he was just kind of indifferent to me.”

There aren’t a ton of entertainers who can successfully maneuver the music industry by dominating the rap game and making a successful transition into the world of acting. Of course a few names come to mind Like LL Cool J, Queen Latifah and Will Smith.

Another name that needs to be a permanent part of that list is Common, who is well respected in both the Hip Hop and movie realms of entertainment. It could be because of his approachable style and constant push to move our culture forward. It may also be due to his transparency, as he is exhibiting now in a new memoir where he opens about being molested as a little kid.

Common has recently completed a memoir titled ‘Let Love Have The Last Word’ where he talks about family and relationships, specifically the relationship between himself and his daughter. In a recent interview on The View Common describes the book a bit, including relationship advice he received from former First Lady Michelle Obama.

TMZ also reveals Common admitted to being molested by a family friend when he was just ten years old in Chicago. While leaving NBC Studios they caught up to him to ask him about the book and why he decided to reveal his truth.

Common tells us he’s being open about his experience because he hopes it will encourage others to feel safe talking about it too … and it will aid in the healing process.

In his book, the Oscar-winner shares how a repressed memory of being molested by a family friend — whom he refers to as Brandon — surfaced a couple years ago while acting out a scene with Laura Dern in the 2018 film, “The Tale.”

Gayle King has been in the news a lot because of her work with CBS. Most notably, she had a high-profile interview with R. Kelly, even breaking some ratings records.

The interview landed Gayle on the cover of Time Magazine as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People.

Well, Gayle is making the most of her moment, securing the bag and her future with CBS.

According to Page Six, the veteran journalist reportedly just negotiated her CBS salary from $5 million a year to $11 million a year.  It was bestie, Oprah Winfrey who encouraged Gayle to go after the money she deserved. She had earlier considered leaving the network.

Oprah told The Hollywood Reporter in a recent interview:

“I said, ‘Get what you want. Get exactly what you want, because now’s the time. And if you don’t get what you want, then make the next right move,’ ”

The deal now makes Gayle King one of the highest paid black journalists in the world along with Robin Roberts. According to Vibe, the new salary also means she’ll be staying with the morning show, while co-host Norah O’Donnell will anchor “CBS Evening News” and Jeff Glor will reportedly be out.

Reportedly, CBS News president Susan Zirinsky has denied rumors that King was behind O’Donnell leaving CBS This Morning.

Gayle’s pay increase  is significant because black journalist are notoriously underpaid in every level of news and media.

While this is all great news for Gayle, some are not happy about her success. They attribute her success to tearing down a black man, and believe she should not be awarded for that.

Music legend Diana Ross has enjoyed an illustrious career for over five decades and she has more than earned her right to be revered and respected. However, she feels she was mistreated by a TSA worker who may have gotten a little too aggressive with her as she was preparing to leave New Orleans after a performance. And instead of quietly pushing her feeling aside she took to her social media to put the worker on blast.

‘I Was Treated Like S#!*’

Page Six reports that Diana was in New Orleans for a performance and afterwards, prior to boarding her flight at the airport she encountered an aggressive TSA worker whose security check made her feel anything but ‘safe’ .

“I was treated like s–t,” the 75-year-old music legend wrote in the first of a series of early morning tweets. “Makes me want to cry.”

The “Endless Love” songstress said she was “treated like royalty” in New Orleans — where she performed at the Jazz and Heritage Festival — before her ordeal at the airport.

After Diana’s first tweet she continued to inform her followers about what happened to her, eventually sounding more and more upset with each tweet.

And apparently sources close to the couple claim that Steve is in a mad dash to liquidate his assets in preparation for a nasty divorce showdown, a lesson he learned during his contentious second divorce from ex-wife Mary.

The “Family Feud” host – who is twice divorced – allegedly put four homes he owns in Texas up for sale since January 2019. So far, he has been able to sell two of them for an estimated $2 million. It’s also alleged Steve significantly lowered the price of one of the homes to get it off his hands. Sounds like he’s trying to get it off his hands quickly.

All of the properties allegedly just name Steve as the owner and Marjorie’s name is nowhere in the paperwork. Sources tell the sale he transferred ownership of another Texas property from his and his wife’s name into just his own name.

In the sports world, this is one of the biggest arguments to-date. But Washington Wizards’ Dwight Howard feels that Kobe outplayed Jordan in every aspect.

“As a matter of fact, many believed that to have been a failed experiment, which led to Howard walking away from the Purple and Gold the following summer as a free agent,” Paolo Songco of Clutch Points.

“Nevertheless, the forgettable season he had with the Lakers does not make him think any less of former teammate Kobe Bryant, who Howard actually thinks is better than the great Michael Jordan.”

Keep in mind that Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant reportedly would butt heads, so to speak, on the court. So if anything, this should add weight to Howard’s opinion regarding Kobe being far better than Jordan.

“He may have not liked him on a personal level, but perhaps the year they spent together as teammates was enough to prove to Howard that in his mind, Kobe is indeed the GOAT,” Songco states.

Aretha Franklin’s estate is in a pickle of a situation. Now, it’s asking the court for permission to sell off some of the late singer’s assets to help pay off a $5.2 million tax debt.

The Blast recently obtained court documents noting that those in charge of Aretha Franklin’s estate are asking for permission to sell off a vacant lot in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The late singer, of course, owned this lot.

“The 1.05-acre lot was purchased by Franklin years ago and the estate is offering it for $1.4 million — the price includes a home being built on the land for the buyer,” the source reports.

Court documents reportedly state that Franklin owes $100,000 in debts, as well as an additional $5.2 million in taxes! The source mentions that this is even after paying off the $6.3 million owed to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

According to Blast, Aretha Franklin’s estate wants to sell off the property in order to “liquidate estate assets and eliminate unnecessary estate expenses.” Moreover, allegedly, the remaining value of Aretha’s personal property is deemed “undetermined” at the moment.

With this in mind, the estate is asking the judge to sign off on the property sale.
