In the world of entertainment, drama has a way of finding its place in even the most unexpected situations. Recently, a prayer circle backstage at Tamar Braxton’s L.A. concert took an unexpected turn when controversial reality star, Chrisean Rock, made a surprise appearance. While the encounter seemed harmless at first, it later escalated into a violent incident between Chrisean and Tamar’s backup singer, James Wright (we’ll recap that in a minute). However, video has now surfaced of what went down prior to the altercation, when Toni Braxton seemingly shaded the hell outta Chrisean’s late, forced entry into the prayer circle. It’s that interaction that has now sparked a heated online debate, with fans taking sides and expressing their opinions.
The Prayer Circle Interruption And Toni’s Reaction
Chrisean Rock’s unexpected entrance into Tamar Braxton’s dressing room during a prayer circle apparently caught everyone – especially Toni – off guard. The video footage, obtained by TMZ, shows Chrisean disrupting the prayer circle, even going as far as discreetly forcing Toni Braxton to the side in order to to get in between Toni and Tamar. The aggressive interruption clearly annoyed Toni’s concentration, because she refused to hold Chrisean’s hand or have any physical contact with her during the prayer, despite how Chrisean persistently tried to make contact.

What Happened AFTER The Prayer Circle

The prayer-circle encounter marked the first in-person meeting between Chrisean and Tamar. Chrisean had been invited to the show through an Instagram Live invitation by Tamar herself. Backstage, everyone, including James, seemed to laugh off the prayer circle fiasco, making Chrisean feel welcome and even joining in a pre-show shot together. But things went all the way left, allegedly, afterwards, when Chrisean reportedly got violent with James.
Unfortunately, the harmony backstage did not extend to the post-show events. Chrisean Rock was reportedly under the impression that she was scheduled to perform during the show, which led to a confrontation between her and James Wright. According to witnesses, James politely informed Chrisean that she was not scheduled to perform, which allegedly triggered a violent response from Chrisean, supposedly sending James to the emergency room after allegedly being socked in the face by Chrisean. The details of the altercation are still a topic of debate, with conflicting accounts from both parties involved.
Once the dust settled, Tamar Braxton took to X (formerly Twitter) to express how pissed off she is that someone actually leaked footage from her dressing room, writing:
“I wasn’t going to say anything because I think that at this point y’all are going to believe whatever you want. And ALL the events that happened was unfortunate. But what is truly DISGUSTING is that my dressing room and prayer is a sacred place and whomever released that can go straight to hell.”

Toni Braxton took to her Instagram page to address the rumors of her supposed marriage to Cash Money CEO, Birdman. On December 30, 2023, Toni took to Instagram to officially deny the rumors, and clarified that she and Birdman did not recently jumped the broom and have never been married. She even attempted to ‘friend-zone’ Birdman with her response…although after all these years, most people no longer believe the whole ‘friend thing’ when it comes to those two:
Toni wrote, “My dear friend @birdman and I are not married…never been married. We are both single.”
Shortly after Toni gave her ‘friend-zone’ response about Birdman, Toni’s lil’ sister, Tamar Braxton, hopped in the comments online to call Toni out on that part:
Tamar commented, “My dear friend is wild. And Ima mind my business and ride for my sister till the wheels fall [off] and then we walking or someone to drive us.”
Toni’s denial came after rumors circulated that the couple had eloped and gotten married in a private ceremony in Mexico the other day.
The origin of the marriage rumor remains unclear. However, after initially Tamar heard about the rumors – prior to Toni speaking on them – she was took to Instagram Live wanting to know what was up as well. As she sat in a car next to her fiance’, J.R. Robinson, Tamar jokingly expressed said, “Let me find out they got married before us. But, they’ve been together 14,000 umpteen years!”
Despite their on-again, off-again relationship, Toni and Birdman have remained strong “friends.” Prior reports suggest that the couple announced their breakup and canceled their proposed wedding in January 2019. But then, Toni later confirmed that they were still together and their friendship remains strong.
At any rate, I guess Toni’s fans will have to just chill out and wait to see what happens next in the Birdman-Toni Braxton relationship woes…or bliss. 🤷🏽

After separating, it seemed like there was hope for reconciliation, because they took hella long to go through with their divorce – 4 more years to be exact- and they were still very close. But they decided to make their divorce official in 2013. Now that they’ve moved on with their lives, new details behind some of the drama that took place behind the scenes have surfaced.
For years, there had been whispers that Keri’s former band members were pissed off when Keri married Toni Braxton. Now, Mint Condition’s lead singer, Stokley Williams, has confirmed that the group members were so heated, that all of them (except Stokley) refused to attend Toni’s and Keri’s wedding. They weren’t being petty for no reason though, after hearing what Stokley revealed, they had a good reason to be.
In an interview with Vlad TV, Stokley revealed that Keri and Toni B. met when they were an opening act for her back in the day. Everything was all good, until a short while later, Keri told them he’d fallen in love with Toni and therefore was saying ‘Peace out’ to the group…forever. Wow…Ms. Braxton must be a helluva woman to make a brotha decide to give up his ENTIRE career, just sayin.’
Anywho, not only did Keri’s sudden departure sting his group members -because they were like family and felt betrayed- it also briefly affected the fate of the group’s future. According to Stokley, after Keri split quicker than we could say “Unbreak my heart,” it caused Mint Condition’s signature live band sound to change.
Their fans apparently didn’t adapt as quickly to that change and it showed in record sales at that time. Therefore, their outrage was understandable, because y’all already know- family or not- when somebody messes with one’s livelihood, it does NOT sit too well in one’s soul. In fact, it’ll make a person wanna reach out and touch somebody- and not in the way that Diana meant it.
After all of the drama, Stokley ended up attending the wedding because he still wanted to represent for his Mint Condition brotha on his big day.

On Saturday, June 5 2021, eighteen-year-old Diezel Braxton-Lewis made the transition to high school graduate as his famous parents beamed with pride. Toni and Keri took to social media to praise their son’s accomplishment with loving posts. Toni Braxton stirred up all kinds of emotions after her interview with her best friend, Jada Pinkett-Smith, on “Red Table Talk.” In particular, she caught flack over her comments about her ex-husband of 12 years/former Mint Condition member, Keri Lewis. They divorced in 2012 and the details of what transpired afterwards are what Toni went clean off about in her interview. She even went as far as to liken Keri to a “b–ch.”

“My husband became my boyfriend and we were attempting to salvage the relationship again, we were hopeful,’ she said. ‘We dated for a good year and a half, almost two years after we got a divorce. Like immediately. I know it sounds crazy, right?”
“I hated being divorced. I hated everything about it. I hated having to surrender to the loss. Everyone’s like,’you have to accept it at this stage.’ I feel like I lost, I’m waving the white flag.
Yes, I had to pay alimony. I was one of those girls. There’s a couple of us that I know. There’s me, there’s Brittany (Spears), Halle (Berry), Mary (J. Blige) allegedly. I was very very angry about that, but it was because we had an existing prenup and post-nup.”

Keri says prior to their wedding, it was Toni’s attorneys who “suggested” she get a prenup, but he didn’t get an attorney because of ‘his love for her,’ thinking they’d last forever. When Birdman and Toni Braxton announced their engagement a few years ago many people believed that it was an odd pairing since the two celebrities come from such different backgrounds.
However, their relationship has been going strong. Unfortunately, earlier this year breakup rumors began to surface causing many to wonder; are they still together or nah? Birdman has answered that question with a resounding “Hell Yes!”
The Two of Them Were Friends for Years First
During a 2018 appearance on The Wendy Williams Show Birdman revealed to host Wendy Williams that he and Toni have known each other for almost two decades, reaching back to when the two of them performed together on Birdman’s 2002 single ‘Baby You Can Do It’. When Wendy asked if he and Toni were a couple (or in Wendy’s own words if the two of them were having sex) he answered with “That’s my love, my soldier, my life. She’s my everything. She’s my life. I love her to death”. As beautiful as his statement sounds there may have been trouble in paradise for the two of them a few months ago. Billboard reported back in January that Birdman and Toni may have called it quits.
On Tuesday (Jan. 2), both Braxton and Birdman posted cryptic messages on their respective Instagram accounts hinting at the possible demise of their relationship. First, Birdman posted and deleted an Instastory that read “It’s over.” He also deleted photos of him and Braxton from his page.

Toni Braxton’s Tuesday has been in a topsy-turvy after what just went down with her prized possessions on a Delta Airline flight. And one thing is probably certain, her fiance’ Bryan Birdman “Put Some Respeck On My Name” Williams, is probably pissed off to the highest level of pissivity!
What Had Happened Was…
What happened was Toni took a flight to somewhere on a Delta Airlines plane. Apparently while on it, she was unaware that her Louis Vuitton luggage went missing. At this point, it’s unclear if her luggage was missing before or after her plane took off. But that’s neither here nor there, because there’s currently a much bigger issue on her hand and it ain’t her precious, high-end luggage. It’s that multi-million dollar ROCK Birdman put on her let ring finger when he proposed!
Yep, you guessed it- her engagement ring (which Toni nicknamed ‘Bonnie’) is missing. How so, you ask? Well, according to Toni B., the ring was in her LV luggage, which also went missing earlier Tuesday. Here’s the first thing she tweeted out:
@tonibraxton: “Hey @Delta I left my LV train case on my flight from JFK to LAX on Tuesday. It’s been impossible to get any type of assistance from anyone in the company! Can someone let delta know I’m trying to get in contact w/them?I’ve tried to no avail 😔 pls help you’re my favorite airlines.”
The half good news, is that Toni has now posted a second online message, stating that she has received her luggage back. HOWEVER, the bad news is that her engagement ring is gone in the wind, along with some other expensive pieces. Now, she’s asking the public to be on the lookout for it. Here’s what she posted on social media a little while ago:

Question: How in the hell did Toni’s mega-rock a.k.a. ‘Bonnie’ end up off of her left ring finger and not only inside of her luggage bag- but inside a luggage back she actually checked in before her flight, and allowed out of her sight?!!
Geesh! I know love is blind and totally not about material things, but Birdman’s probably somewhere a tad ticked off over his fiancee’s multi-million dollar ‘slip up’ right about now. Regardless of whatever insurance he has on the ring, nor how many millions the brotha has in the bank, it’s just the principal of it all…just saying. Hopefully, some good samaritan will return Toni’s ring ASAP.

Whew! Toni gave it to her family straight up, with no chaser, did she not?
Needless to say, her confession caught all of her family off guard, as they looked on in shock and the camera cut to Tamar giving her big sis’ the side eye. Guess they have a lot of things to discuss moving forward…to say the least.
In addition to Toni B. telling it like it is, Tamar and Tracy made it known how they felt as well.
As we previously reported, Tamar was NOT feeling how Iyanla was making her look at herself and she ultimately ended up storming out of one of their family therapy sessions. She was also seen telling Towanda that she was concerned the therapy sessions would turn into a “bash on Tamar” meeting:
“I don’t want to get in the middle of no drama,” Tamar later said in her confessional. “I don’t necessarily feel like I need to get my life fixed. I’ve been fixed and healed and redeemed. I’ve got peace and serenity… That said, call me P and S. OK? Can’t get me off my cloud. No, God!”
As far as Tracy Braxton, her take on the therapy process was far more receptive than Tamar’s. In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” Traci referred to the intense sessions with Iyanla, as “strenuous.” However, she’s grateful she went through the process.
“She didn’t fix my life, but she helped me see better and keep my process going positively,” said Traci.
The Braxtons seem to truly love each other to the core…but sometimes family can cut you deeper than strangers ever could. There are several issues that they’ve admitted needing help to resolve. But we, here at ILOSM, simply respect them all for having the courage to hash out their problems in front of the world, because by doing so, they’re helping SO many others.
